  1. Why would you ask this type of question on a forum that is loaded with people that feel that AE is not intended for farming? Seems to me you are trying to stir a hornets nest chuck, and to answer your question you are doing it wrong!

No hate here in fact I find this post amusing, how you are whinning about being sick of afk farming. This sounds like the same complaint about purple drops.

Nothing? No shards? No xp? No prestige? Find that hard to believe.

What do you suggest they do? How can you tell a afk farmer from a non afk farmer, and how do you fix this without hurting everyone who does pvp?

Well if someone tells you that, then you would have to start by reporting yourself since you have admitted to afk farming youself! 5 per night huh? I'd say you have nothing to complain about, One saying comes to mind after reading this post "it doesn't matter how you get to the party, just get there"

How do you not laugh at people who admit they are sick of doing something they clearly know the devs frown upon and yet ask the same devs to fix it. Astonishing!

My suggestion, have an event that nukes all the AE buildings from orbit.

In the same issue, allow story writers to put their stories as part of existing in world contacts. Let me explain: If a player walks up to a contact, and clicks "What else is going on" a list of MA story arcs opens up that are level appropriate to the contact. For ex, Azuria would only be allowed to be the contact for lvls 1-5 content, and would only display levels 1-5 mission arcs. Put in a "suggest a contact button" for MA authors who aren't familiar with the level ranges of every zone and contact, which would suggest a contact and a zone for an author's story.

Make it so that All MA stories must be at least 3 missions long. Normalize all xp so that it's the same xp you get from regular missions. For custom critters, put in a slider for authors: one side says "customized" the other side says "100% xp". The more you move from one side of the slider to another the more you lose the other option.

Keep tickets as is. Keep inf as is. Mark clearly when an MA story is a custom critter fest. Perhaps use the old "this might be tough without friends" line.

Hire a full time team of GMs to specifically watch for when exploits are used. (Anyone who thinks the current customer service team is of adequate size to do anything about the exploit issues is fooling themselves.) Use the 3 strikes you're out system.

Farming should be left as is. If someone wants to farm, as long as they ARE NOT using exploits let em. Just put in a button in the contacts window I mentioned above that says "do not show farms", or "do not show combat only". Not going to dwell on this part of my suggestion as i couldn't care less if someone farms or not, as long as they aren't using exploits.

Get rid of stars, HOF, and other stupid dev awards. Just put in a thumbs up or thumbs down system. Those stories with high thumbs show up higher in the "what else is going on" menu for contacts. You MUST complete at least the FIRST mission of an arc (remember I suggested all arcs be a minimum of three missions above). I used to be against having to complete a mission before rating an arc, but no longer care if it improves the AE.

Reward authors who get many thumbs up. For every 10 give them a free AE story slot. Allow all authors the ability to earn up to 10 free ones. Once they get to more than 100 free AE slots, and get the 110th one, drop a random Pool C in their email. (Remember you have to complete at least one story in an AE arc until you can rate it.)

Disallow all the old auto complete tricks that allowed a person to finish a mission by just walking into it, killing one mob (unless it's an EB, AV), clicking one glowie to auto end a mission, etc, etc.

Those are my suggestions. Have at them.
I am all for this suggestion as long as you are in one of the buildings when it gets nuked!

We have had a nonstop string of exploits including the most recent one causing all kinds of problems on the heels of the I19 launch.

We've had the devs wasting time trying to patch the loopholes but always seeming to be two steps behind, or in some cases starting PR disasters by just not being clear enough about what's banable, what's not and the punishments have been spotty at best anyway.

And then one of my SG mates pretty much said it best, why not just remove XP? After all that would pretty much stop every exploit past present and future right in its tracks, and to me would go a long ways towards making AE what it should be, a place to enjoy stories and player created content, not an exploit haven full of exploit map missions to cheat your way to 50. Perhaps as a trade off boost the influence or ticket gain within?

So I thought I'd ask the question here, there's my reasons above, and what do you all think about the impact that it would have pro or con?
Not to sure what is more annoying "AE Babies" or people like YOU complaining about it!
as for AE Babies not knowing the actual game, change the record already how many times does this need to be posted! How many times do we (The forum readers) have to put up with bs posts like! I get it, you were bored when you made this post! Here is a suggestion, why don't you and your "SG" mates get some Magic Markers and color some wood chips and spear us from further posts like this!!

    buying infamy?

And buying from these sites can cause cancer, you guys forgot to mention that!!

I love these threads the best! The same people that violate the EULA, telling people not to do things that will violate the EULA!

    loL pERfecT!
  6. Any solution is going require a ton of time. As it stands now there are a bunch of farm arcs
to go through. The devs are not going to dedicate time into doing it, and with the grief factor they will not have the players police it. While the devs have said they frown upon farm arcs, the reality is, they are out there because people want them to be, like it or not.

This whole report an arc idea will not work... Example: Say some creative guy decides to make a arc, and he only wants it to be very short. This can be concidered by many to be a farm no matter how much time he puts into it to make it look like a non farm. So in reality he has made a radio mission, and because it can be done fast and be done over and over it falls into the farm area even if that was his intention.

I think poeople overrate the importance of MA. While it's a nice little tool to be creative, most people that use their slots for making farm arcs, could care less if they lose those slots, and have no problem going back to reg content to farm. Exploits will always pop up be it in MA or anything things else people stumble upon, and the devs will deal with it how they see fit.

While some people here would love to see people get banned, the bottom line is it's bad for business, losing subcriptions is not what the devs want. I am sure there are people here that feel "who cares, let them quit, they are bad for the game, we don't need them" too bad it's not that simple. In order for this game to continue, it has to make money. It's never a black and white issue. It's a balance act that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Lines have to be drawn no doubt but, as with the game there is a risk reward factor for the devs as well.

Look, there are many people that are clueless when it come to this type of thing, you are not alone. This is why I wanted to shed some light on this, so people like you could better understand why things are they way they are. I said this was one of the reason not the only reason. Hope this helps

Eva, it's not about blame, it's about fact. It's not about being ebil, it's about being making money. While this practice may not be good for the game as a whole, this is not about the game, it's about business. Gold farmer sites send out tons of emails to Elicit people to buy
from them. Inflating the market is just one way of enticing people to but from them.
If you choose to be naive about it that is fine. If you really want to get people to drink in your drinking game, how about adding this to your game: Everytime you talk about something you know nothing about, people take a drink. that way you will assure that people playing your game will indeed get drunk.

You do not need to run Multiple MM's. 1 level 50 MM can hold more than 8 bil alone.
(I'm sure you knew that, Probably wrote a guide on it.)

The main problem with an exploit like you mentioned is... people that run these, are indeed able to make a boat load of Imfamy, which allows them to purchase purples on the BM at whatever price and flip them. Since there are far less purples redside, this makes them less available, thus prices go up.

Something people might not know: Gold farmers buy up purples and Pvp IO's to inflate the market in order to drive up the prices, forcing some non famer players who want purples to purchase Inf/Imf from them.

One answer would be, making purples available at the merit vendors for a higher purchase price. This would allow anyone to buy them by putting in the time doing tf's.

There is no way to dress it up as anything but. And the little wannabe farmers don't know how to keep their mouths shut, so it should be pretty easy for a GM to search for things like "meow" or "bubble" or "jellybean" or whatever the latest keyword is with kids these days.

By no means would I suggest banning someone, even temporarily, without a thorough review of the arc in question by a GM who is knowledgeable about the system.
Here is a suggestion, instead of having the devs have to pour through countless arcs to determine what is what, how about they take more time to PREVENT these exploits from coming out in the first place! The problem is one or two things 1. they are not taking the time to find these. We all know people want the new stuff out yesterday and in order to do that sometimes you can't go over it all without delaying it. 2. The people they have doing the beta testing are not able to find them or are finding them and keeping the information quiet.

What is the point of keeping this information quiet? MONEY

You find an exploit like the MM pet one, you stand to make good money farming inf/imf in little time and then selling it to gold farmers. In case you guys didn't know, they buy as well as sell.

I see many people say the main problem is getting a toon from 1-50 in a matter of hours. but rarely see people mention how much inf/imf you can make in those same hours using these exploits. Cha Ching

I've been given up to 1 bil inf to take someone to 50. Sound like alot? Well, think about how many AE ticket rolls you'll get in 50 levels or how many purple chances you'd get in PI.

Although i thought that was kinda high, the guy said he didnt care cause he bought inf all the time. Personally, id never do that, but if he chooses to then that's on him.

But running at +3 or 4 x8 can get you to mid 30's in a few runs. I'm on Justice. Hit me up if you want to get PL'd. I don't need exploits. I just fly through mobs like a champ.
You sound like a car salesman... "Need a level 50 and can't seem to get one, or it's taking you too long"? "No problem"! "Just bring a large amount of inf and we will get you to 50 fast"!!! "Here at Sparky's PL Emporium"! "Level 50's when YOU want them"!!!

While it's true, exploits are not needed... It's not about need, it's about want, and when exploits do pop up people want to use them to get their toons to 50 as fast as possible...
If they get caught, and they get banned, then that is the risk they take and so be it!
Your way there is no risk of that, and the only people you upset are the people that hate AE babies running around with 50's that people like you helped get there. Personally It doesn't bother me, if they pay you for a service then so be it. I have seen more than a few high level vets running around just as clueless as some AE babies so....

    For the record...

You running your champ, pling someone in reg content such as BM/Demon farm or any AE content that is not concidered a exploit, doesn't even come close to an exploit run such as the latest Ign Monster run using MM pets... in XP/INF/PRESTIGE or whatever else you get in a AE mish. People on freedom paid plers 1 bil to get their toon from 1-50 in 2 hours or less

Again, your way is much slower and safer, and you do get access to purple drops.
guess it comes down to what people want and what risks they are willing to take.

    Yee Haw yall
  13. The devs cannot catch everything, but you can bet your bippy that OTHER people will be more than happy to find the exploits and use them!

This is a lot like Fight Club, "Welcome to Fight Club. The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club".

Some people seem to think there is no place for farming or pling in this game, yet when AE came out there were more farm arcs than anything else. When this lastest pl exploit came out it's amazing how many people were doing it, wasn't there like a ton of RWZ instances on both freedom and virtue? It's human nature, if there is an easy way to do something people will do it!
