Just wanted to thank Plasma, MissInformed, Balorn, Ninelives, MASH1, and everyone else who provided the "intel" for us who couldn't make it or don't live near Austin. Thanks for the cool pics and the accounts of the evening

Actually one might be able to look at temp powers. They can't be traded and can only be had by launching said missle. This would then at least give people something who had their timer reset.

True, providing those temp powers had not been spent. 5 missile temp powers could be mined per toon, depending on how labor-intensive such a task is. -

Thanks Posi, it just seems like a lot of PvP zone related badges are/ were bugged:
<ul type="square">[*] Timers for time spent in PvP zones resetting when you zone (have to spend consecutive hours in the zone)[*] Gettting PvP mission badges before the prerequisite number of misison is achieved[*] Not getting PvP zone task badges when requirements are met (rocket launches, firebase takeovers, etc.)[/list]
I'm not sure if all of these are fixed yet either. Within the last two weeks, my wife had to spend 5 consecutive hours logged into BB and SC each to get the silly badges. Even most PvPers don't spend that many consecutive hours in PvP
Edit: Funny thing is, the GM was no help for her, said she needed to spend more time in the zone until the badge was rewarded. We thought it was accumulative time, and she never stayed in the zone for more than an hour or two at a time. We didn't find out you need consecutive time until a team mate told us. If there were a slider for these badges, this bug would have been known abot after I6 launch isntead of much later. -

Origin: Magic (magical construct - gargoyle)
Primary Power: Skin like stone
Primary weapon: Battle Axe
Obsidius was created in another reality where the undead wage war against each other in the dark while mortals obliviously go about there ways during the day. During the Dark Ages, these vampire lords fashioned gargoyles from their enemies using blood sorcery to do battle for them. Obsidius was one of these constructs.
During his time under his masters' heels, Obsidius was ordered to fight his masters' foes, slaughter innocent people to cover his masters' trails, torture enemies to make points, and other attrocious acts. Eventually, Obsidius realized he was nothing more than a pawn, and that everything he had done for his masters was abhorable.
Eventually he found any ally who helped free him from his masters. From that point forward he fought against his former masters for centuries, attempting to redeem himself of everything they had made him do in their name, using his great sword, his stony resilience, and a host of powers granted to him through his former masters' sorcery.
Eventually, the vampires' vanity, carelessness, and lust for power lead to all-out war, putting his world in a death spiral that would eventually lead to the end of the world. The war was so tumultuous that the Dimensional Entities themselves were awoken as the undead lost control of their magic. Obsidius was able to broker a deal with one of these entities, who understood his quest for redemption. The Entity offered him a way to escape his world before its destruction and a chance for redemption, in exchange for his power, embued by blood sorcery. Obsidius accepted the Entity's offer, and was flung through the void of dimensions.
Obsidius seemed to fly through the void for eternity. Strange worlds full of monsters, demons, cyborgs, androids, and floating islands flew past as he steaked by like a shooting star.
Finally, Obsidius saw a bright light like that at the end of a tunnel. Hew flew through the light and landed on a park bench in the middle of a post Rikti War Paragon City. People were desparately in need of help, and although most were afraid of his horrible visage, Obsidius offered his aid, continuing his self-appointed quest for redemption under the watchful eye of M.A.G.I.
The Dimensional Entities did not leave him completely powerless, however. Through helping others and gaining the trust of the city, the Entities granted him a little power at a time, to continue his quest to help rid the world of evil.
Obsidius is now a Hero of the City, and is still serving to fight evil and corruption to this day. -

I red once from a red name post that Stalkers can also use Concealment pool powers, which will stack with their Hide. Can this also be done with Cloaking Device and Concealment powers? I've been told it can't, but want to investigate further.

Got an answer from _Castle_ for this question:
"Self effecting Stealth powers do not stack, except for Group Invisibility and Stalker Hide. "
I think I had read this somewhere in the past on one of his posts but had forgotten about it. -

Word. Pretty buildings look nice but don't really add anything to the game. Hopefully it won't get put on the back burner.
Perhaps even cross-server transfers (alternate dimensions people! Passport badge!). All just specualtion, but one can hope & dream of the possibilities... -
And why would they introduce Pocket D as a neutral zone for heroes and villians before I7, instead of releasing it with I7? Perhaps there's something they're not telling us yet...

NotedI also agree that Cryptic doesn't always get it right, but it's probably trickier as a younger MMO developer. Every company out there is looking for the right balance. Now that the field is more crowded, it's a hard competition.

CoH isn't "finished", and the devs have no illusions that it is. CoV did need the lion's share of attention in I7, for all the reasons stated multiple times by various people in this thread.

Exactly. Anyone expecting a "finished" MMO anywhere will be dissapointed, because there are always changes.
Prime example: SWG's "Updated" combat system (released almost two years after launch) -

The EQ 2 devs post on the order of three times as much as these devs, have added a like amount of free content, have only had one paid expansion and two paid adventure packs and the combat balancing was certainly no worse than I5 and ED.

Big change since EQ(1). Glad to see the competition is actually competing as far as customer support is concerned, especially with WoW and CoX at their heels. -

I guess my biggest complaint about comlainers is that they usually sound like ranters (ie: Im gonna cancel my account, Jack you're a tard, etc.).
Your post, however, is well-worded and concise, and expresses in civilized terms why some people are upset about I7 (although I generally sneer at the words "paying customer" because of the afformentioned reason (usually leads into a rant)).
Kudos to you THUDD, and well spoken. Although it is understandable that I7 is mostly villain-based relase, it would be nice to know when hero-related items will be introduced for the CoH-only non-PvP crowd. -
