  1. Update:

I did as suggested, then ran the game. It seemed okay for the last little while, ran nice and smooth. But then, poof. Random blackscreen crash. :[ Had to End process to get it to shut down.
  2. Didn't even think of that! Though I have used Driver Sweeper before when this issue started with FFXIV. I'll go give that a shot now, thank you!
  3. Hello again!

I will say up front, I'm not entirely sure if this is CoH fault for crashing for me or not.

History; I bought this setup back around February for the specific intent of playing Final Fantasy XIV. I've only upgraded a few parts since then (Graphics card and power supply, both tested and neither faulty). However, I would constantly get an error where my monitor would suddenly black out, then come back with an error saying "AMD has experienced an error but has recovered." It happened enough (though always randomly) that I haven't even touched the game in months. It's frustrating. Sometimes the monitor just goes to sleep altogether, and I have to force restart anything to get it back on.

The same issue (both types) happens when I play League of Legends, however, again. Randomly. It isn't guaranteed that I hit this error, but it is majority of the time.

So we come to the last couple days. I've been trying to play CoH. For the most part I can play it without too many issues. When I do crash, I'm not sure what triggers it (except for one instance in Mercy, when I go through a door to "speak to the infected leader" it insta-crashes).

When CoH crashes, though. I do not get that error. At least, not the AMD one I mentioned before. When playing this game, it usually crashes to just a black screen, and I have to end the process in Ctrl+Alt+Delete fashion to get out of it. That is the /most/ common error I've experienced with this game, though on a few occassions I have experienced my monitor simply shutting down on me, and having to force reboot.

Everything in my games is up to date, and I do have the latest drivers from AMD. I'm not entirely sure what I should post for you, however, I do have my DXDIAG info copied.

    DxDiag DL Link --> http://www.mediafire.com/?wfd0ruucwvaauy8

(Tried to just paste it here, but kept getting an issue about too many special characters or some such.)

I should mention, too, that when I had posted about this issue on the FFXIV forums I attended, I did test with and pass (with flying colors), MemTest and Prime95, as well as FurMark.

I thank you all greatly for your time and patience in reading this. Please let me know if you need anything else.
  4. Thank you for your post!

    Yes, I tried that method.

Though, leave it to fate to have this thing resolved twenty minutes after I posted this thread. :[ Turns out that, despite my PC saying I had the latest .NET, I didn't have it. Once I installed .NET Framework 4 (and switched my PC back to United States Locale, though I don't know if this actually played into anything), it all ran swimmingly.

I thank you for taking your time to post here, though. :] Hopefully I'll see you in game!
  5. Apologies for the double post, but there doesn't seem to be an edit post button:

I wanted to mention that I am running Windows 7 64-bit with all current Windows updates.
Graphics card is a ATI Radeon HD 5670, Processor is AMD Phenom II X4 925 @ 2.80GHz, Memory is 4.00GB
  6. Hello all.

I've been trying to get into this game for the last day, now, but I just keep running into issues. I can't even get it to install.

Upon trying to use the CoH_Installer.exe available from the City of Heroes website, I get a runtime error saying "This application has requested the Runtime terminate it in an unusual way."

I have the most up to date Runtime Library that I am aware of (2010 -> http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...s.aspx?id=5555)

I saw someone else on this forum say they had the same error, and simply installed the game via the NCSoft Launcher, so I thought I'd give that a go. While the launcher seems to have installed, when I go to boot it up, I get this error: "Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
    Parameter name: startIndex"

I'm really at a bit of a loss here. My computer is by no means ancient, and has more than enough power to do the things I'm telling it to do. I've run virus scanners and such, as well, with no real hits.

As a note, I have also searched the Support pages pretty extensively before coming to the forums for help. I couldn't find a solution, there. =[

Thank you all for your assistance and time.
