    whoa, that's kind of insulting

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not really, Warshades are a Robobug thing, little joke.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
roster is looking tough for sure

    [/ QUOTE ]

We're purpling up Warshades for when Whirligig challenges us, nod nod.

  3. First huzzah on redesigning the Posi TF. Also do Synapse and Quarterfield please.

As for Ghost Wife...how about Merry Widow? *nod nod*

    the pvp coverage was awsome

THanks, make sure you defend that #1 spot for a while hun.

Me: "Hey, you can get wings!"
    Friend: "Really? How?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are other ways to get wings. In fact, there are only two wings available just for Veterans, and they're not even the best ones. Go to the auction house (Wentworth's or Black Market) and buy a recipe and the salvage. After you craft them, they're usable at the tailor (ICON or Facemaker).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aha this just happened to me a few days ago!

A good friend came back after a year absence and asked:

    "How do I get wings?"

"Well, there are the angel and demon ones as vet rewards and several others as recipes."

I got him all the costume bits and some salvage, and he learned about crafting at the same time!

    Hmm...

Well there is also the team recall, the two staffs, the axe and sands of mu. Minor advantages, SG Base teleport, and now the actual helpful pets.

Then there is the sprints and useless pets.

Costume peices arn't really a small part of this game. After all, how much time did you spend creating your hero(es) and Villians?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can get the Sands of Mu temp doing a mission from a contact in Talos.

You can get the Nemesis staff temp from Neal Kendrick in Brickstown.

You can get a group teleport from Mayhems.

You JUST need to keep an active account and you'll get the trenchcoat, the wings, the respecs etc. I won't begrudge my sgmate with the boxing gloves (of course, I am getting those in the fall, woot!) nor do I begrudge anyone who has a Rikti monkey following them around.

The trenchcoat is awesome and it's what, 3 months in? SO you play for a few months and can make your Neo/coolio clone.

I understand it can be somewhat discouraging to not have boxer gloves but there are TONS of costume options off the bat and quite a few more unlockables in game.

None of my friends, even the ones who like comics, will play CoH. It's too counterintuitive, and the most common reaction I get is: "so...what else do you do, aside from fighting?"

To which I have no answer.

I tell them there's exploration of zones and crafting to improve yourself. And PvP. Of course, the latter is just fighting of a different tack.
  8. I was pretty darned confused my first few days playing and I made tons of mistakes too, so I can empathize with you.

My advice would be to click on people's badge info and find someone with a 24+ vet reward...and ask them some questions.

The Hollows and Perez were made when street sweeping was the rage. They don't see much use anymore. It's better to start at Kings Row, get your Safeguard done (easier than it sounds, just head to the bank and clobber the bad guys and boss) and then get your jetpack.

It might not be a bad idea to sidekick to someone higher than you so you can get some help. Hell, roll a character on Champion server and global @Neuronia sometime and I'll help you myself.

Lastly, the Vet/WEdding thing is an approach thing. When my friends asked, I said they added a Wedding Pack, it was fluff but it was for the costume nuts and collectors. As to the vets, I just say they give fluff and some useful items if you keep playing. They aren't necessary to game play but are helpful (the attacks and Respecs).

I hope you stay and have some fun, it really is a very fun game.
  9. I soloed a two-spawn Positron earlier today...it was pretty boring and annoying at times but still doable. Was on a Spines/SR Scrapper.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Please ban these in all pvp zones.

    Thank you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why? Just throw a Fireball or an AoE and they're toast. They're fragile and how many 48 monthers are in the various pvp ladders or zones at any given time? Can't be more than a dozen or so.

    Woot more crazy buffs!
  11. Please let these function in pvp areas. +Recovery and stuff ftw!

I thought someone should clarify a few things about the Renegades vs UJL fight. Its obvious it can be very dificult to see whats going on at all times however Stalkers dont hunt MM pets. Its actually the opposite. MM's are used to try to keep stalkers out of hide so they can't use thier signature attack (AS) as well as debuff or disrupt the opposite team. Dominators can be a big factor in a matchs, just not in that perticular match roster. I beleive Robo was playing sonic in that match, Acidz was our thermal. All in all were very happy to see the villian side get coverage and wan't to thank you for featuring us in the article.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh wow sorry for all the confusion...the only thing I saw out there were MMs and Corruptors (for obvious perception reasons). It was fun and really different to cover though...going to make an effort to see and cover that VORI match too for the #1 spot next week, depending on whether I can wrangle out of sg commitments in time to be there.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Personally I would love to see the new members play in the official. Its always good to have the extra challenge and I do not really see what harm it would do. Since it is an odd care and their is not an official ruling imo the sg leaders from both sgs should decide what should happen. Plus this rule was set in place to prevent people from switching sgs every week to play in officials. Vel has retired so its not like they are jumping from an sg for no reason. IMO the rules we have set in place now should be more of guidelines an that the two sgs fighting should actually get to decide what they want an do not want. Just my opinion an obviously I do not speak for OS so would have to talk with shocker or strike.

    [/ QUOTE ]

/signed but would like to hear from OS leaders too.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
I kind of need an official ruling, is it one week or two weeks?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's two weeks from join date.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
    Does lacuna still actually play?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thought they'd left over the holidays...welcome to the new folks!

  16. During the lunar eclipse, I saw some raccoons throwing polished pinecones at people.

    Those rodents are mean.

Please remove @iltat and @Pinghole from the roster.

    Thanks for the times, ya'll.

Anyone find the 'who stole my chair?' post from Lighthouse?

While you're down there...can you plug in some more cables? And get Ex to take pictures of it?

  19. Some additional feedback after a night's rest:

    Wedding entry

There needed to be some more ushers and some more GMs.
While many remarkably followed orders and stayed in line, there was tons of cutting and such which added to general aggravation.

I liked the idea of the piece of salvage that would give you access to the event. THen, click on a contact and enter the event and lose your salvage.

Castle and the community mods did a great job of keeping some sanity. I know when I logged in at 5:30, there were tons of people crowding the usher (including myself) and Castle had to Tar Patch/defeat some of them to make the line grow.

The side events at Pocket D were great and kudos for that. I didn't head there myself because well...the lineups were huge and I didn't want to lose a shot at the event, especially since there were some technical difficulties. It was counterproductive to zone to Kings Row/Port Oakes then zone back at that point.

    Wedding

This was all kinds of awesome, the vows were great and Posi in a suit was Thanks to everyone who took the time to do that for us. The ending bit and it sapped a lot of the fun out of it for me personally. I would have preferred if heroes had their instance, villains had their instance, rinse repeat before iterations.

There should have been a hospital in the instance. :P
Actually, come ot think of it...the Ouroboros instance should have capped us all at level 1 or something. WHen people threw down there were purpled out heroes (like myself) and there were some level 1 to 12s with very little in the way of powers. This created a huge imbalance (as did lag). Exemp everyone down to 1 or hell 10, make Recluse and his guys bosses able to be overcome by characters of that level.

It was a good event overall, a little wonky in execution and finish.

THanks again, really, for your patience and hard work.
  20. [ QUOTE ]

    Was there chaos? Yes
    Were there disconnects? Yes
Did everyone get to see the event? No
    Did everyone have fun???

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ex, everyone...I'd like to personally thank you for what you did tonight, for taking the time to do it and for being responsive to all of us as well.

While I certainly have my quibbles about a portion of the event which stressed me, the vows were great, the execution was fine and we were all treated fairly.

I had fun throughout most of the event, and it was an event. People lined up as if for a Star Wars movie and chatting and such, solemn crowds during the wedding. Good stuff.

Thank you again all of you.
  21. While I am somewhat pleased with this change in that it will prevent softloading Task Forces, I ask two things:

i)Take a pair of scissors to the Freedom Phalanx Task Forces (especially Positron and Synapse) and the Shard Task Forces (especially Quarterfield and Faathim) and cut them by about 4-5 missions at least, more for the Shard missions.

ii)Make the mobs inside the missions spawn at the average, and not high, level for the task force so that pickup groups at least have a hope of advancing through them.

Lastly, consider merging the two markets. As much as I've made tons and tons of infamy off the villain market, it's high time for this to happen folks.
  22. Incredible post, should be marked for saving by the mods for sure.

Big kudos to Posi and Ex for adding to the fun.

P.S. Liquid, can you get us more server slots please?
  23. I purchased the code without blinking because I'm a completist, much like I dropped influence for all the wings and boots back in the day to add those to my main.

I did feel kinda awkward though when a sg leader and myself were throwing confetti and the rest of the team just shuffled uncomfortably...consider this a guilty pleasure for myself then.

That said, the people I talked to were split. A few of them said they wouldn't spend $10 on a few emotes and costumes, others wanted a series of badges (Betrothed, Jilted, Newlywed) added in while others thought it was just more money for the Devs so dove in.

On a personal note...I don't mind fluff items or items through the PlayNC Store, but gauge the price by its content. This item may have been palatable for some at $5, at $10 it seems a bit much. The Gvs.E pack cost me around $10 and it came with access to Tiki Room, a teleporter, badge, jump pack and some costumes too.

    Either way, nice work
  24. I'm confused by this statement:

"Just the other day, I was playing a low level Warshade and used the Combat Attribute window to help me decide how to slot Dark Nova."

I was on my Peacebringer just now, opened the Combat Attributes Window, but when I went to the Enhancement Screen and keyed over powers, the Attribute window goes away.

If I have the Window up and I click over Glinting Eye, it doesn't tell me anything about Glinting Eye?

    ???
  25. Correct site and link works, thanks NotPutzing.
