I am playing a Rad/Rad defender who has just turned lvl40. I have been looking at the epic power pools for character enhancement and have come across a quandry.
Having read through the different epic powersets I have set my mind on Dark Mastery.
Given the powerset I use (and my almost constant use of the RAd toggles), is it better to go for all 4 powers from Dark Mastery or Oppressive Gloom from that powerset and Swift, Health and Stamina from Fitness.
In the end game, will Dark Consumption be good enough to keep endurance up or is Fitness required?
Let me know what you all think...
My Powerset:
Rad Emission:
Rad Aura, Rad Infection, Accel Metabolism, Enervating Field, Mutation, Lingering Rad, Choking Cloud, EM Pulse
Rad Blast:
Neutrino Bolt, Xray Beam, Irradiate, Proton Volley, Cosmic Burst, Neutron Bomb, Atomic Blast
Concealment:
Grant Invis, Invis
Flight:
Hover, Fly
Teleport:
Recall Friend -
Well, as an update to my respec saga I tried the TF tonight.
Team of 4:
2 blasters
1 scrapper
1 Me
Got through the first missions without a problem. Got into the reactor and was looking for the key for the door. Team faceplanted a few times as the mobs were about lvl32-33.
After a few deaths one blaster decided it wasn't possible and decided to quit out. The scrapper quickly followed.
Realising that we couldn't do it with me and a blaster we had to leave it there.
Will probably try a second take this weekend...
... and so the saga continues...
(Doc Neutron... ... grumbling away in a corner)

Thanks a lot for the info, definately helped. I now have my toon planned out a lot better. I just need to do the respec missions.
I will be taking Rad Infection for sure and dropping Fallout because people very rarely faceplant when I am spam healing them
Now its all just figuring out what slots to put where and at what level to take all my powers.
One final question for everyone... How long does the Terra Volta Respec TF normally take? Am on tonight for about 3 hours and am wondering how much chance I will have to do it... Looks like I will have enough time but I am not entirely sure. -
I never thought about it in terms of a respec. How easy is it to get one of those in game? (haven't looked into it before)
As for your thoughts Ilservian, there are some good pointers there... I didn't know about the Invis/Phase Shift nerf. Phase shift is not much use to me anyway, regret taking it along with Fallout which is also not too much use.
I am a big fan of flight, although its slow its really useful at times and I am not so big on teleport. Ditching the invis and grant invis would give me more options, but it is useful sometimes being able to invis myself and my team...
Thinking about it more now, a respec is needed for what I want to do. If I respec properly I can get both the attack powers I want and also the fitness pool for extra health/stamina.
Lots to think about... -
No real reason, I just never got around to it. I started with Radiant Aura and whenever I got around to a new power there always seemed to be something better.
With me having Enervating Field and using it all the time is there a big advantage to having and running Radiation Infection? -
My main toon is Doc Neutron, currently a level 29 Rad/Rad defender. As I have been playing him so far I have concentrated on the defensive aspects at the cost of the offensive aspects of the character.
Currently my power list is:
All Rad Emission Powers apart from Rad Infection and EMP Pulse (I will be taking EMP Pulse as soon as I can).
From Rad Blast I have:
Neutrino Bolt, XRay Beam and Irradiate
My other powers are:
Hover, Flight, Grant Invisibility, Invisibility, Phase Shift, Recall Friend.
As I am coming to level 30 I am granted with a choice, to give myself some offensive powers: Proton Volley (or cosmic burst), Neutron Bomb and Atomic Blast.
Alternatively I could completely forget offensive powers and go for the Fitness power pool, making me a little better at staying around to heal team mates.
Now I know a lot of people are familiar with the game as the final levels approach, so I was wondering what people would do in my situation.
To give myself some offensive capability so I can fight while I heal/buff/debuff...
Or to sack offensive powers completely for the game and concentrate on making myself last that little longer while healing...
Unless someone has an even better idea?
What are your opinions?
