noct is short for nocturne/nocturnal. nocturnal synonymous with dark. Sidious uses the Dark Side of the Force.

glowy/nictus sword roughly equates to a dark jedi's lightsaber.

I still have a couple of my tribute characters I various servers. I was even inspired by Alex Ross's Project: Superpowers and designed some forgotten Golden Agers.

Are you asking about coloring 'flats' or flattening layers?

Don't forget that Photoshop is used for waaay more than computer coloring comic book drawings, so features like channels and paths may not have an immediate use for what you're doing, but they do have other uses.

This sort of thing tends to crop up every once in awhile. Maybe we should have an artist's reference thread sticky'ed in the forum. It'd be for in game references rather than everyone's screenshots of all their alts.

I'm on Champion, too. I have alts on every server. Protector and Infinity were where my first hero and villain were created.

This part isn't all that far off the mark, actually. I read a study that artists and writers are a percentage (which I cannot remember accurately) more likely to suffer from depression, than people with other careers.

Self-doubt can be crippling if you let it.

As for all the other details, I won't speculate.

My main home is Protector, but I spent a lot of time on Infinity this past weekend trying to level my Brute up to 50 and failing. On the plus side, I did go from 26 to 36/37.

I've been thinking of bringing this back to life. I kinda feel bad about disappearing last time, but [censored] happens, ya know?

This time, I'm ditching the medals, and the winner (the ONLY winner) will receive a penciled head sketch (from me) of their character or another one of their choosing. I may not be as good as some of the others on the board, but I figure a quick and dirty sketch is better than a 'no-prize' or a png that anyone can download for themselves, anyway.

So, I want to gauge interest, if there is any, and get started the Monday after Double XP weekend is over (I know we'll all be too busy leveling toons to design new ones).

that shouldn't be too hard, I'd imagine. You might have to settle for all shiny (metallic) instead of selectively shiny, though.
