Doesn't matter; after the morality mission, you start anew. Or, better put, at level 10, you start the next "round" of arcs even if you did not finish the first round.

FYI to "my" team: Myred is Resistence (due to popular demand) and vill be ze tank. Bring whatever you want to have fun on! ;-)
  3. I might be able to actually make this one on Childe!
(we have a test in my behav. stats. class that night, and I suspect I'll be finished well ahead of the other doc canidates... I actually am not scared or scarred by math)

    Can I be an alt?

Don't be afraid to make adjustments to how you play though, I often find that I'm tweaking my mentallity depending on what powersets I'm using, my Ice/Ice tends to just stand in the middle and dish out damage, my Ice/KM does similar things but always has a wall or other object nearby for the high-mag KD throw, I found on my Elec/Elec that I pull the groups tighter, with more control due the small size of Elec Meele's cone.

Every tanker is different, and every player behind them is different also, it comes down to finding the tank to suit you, or finding a way for a tanker to be fun for you.
I *am* noticing with KM I need to angle a wall in; that occasional knockback does make it a pain to keep a group tight. Hrm; and thanks for the kind words all!

You've got the right idea for sure. Tanks are never going to be top tier damage dealers, but that's not their job. Take damage, keep aggro, don't neglect your damage dealing, but please, for the love of all that is tanky, though, keep the team moving. A good tank can keep up with the team, the best tanks set the pace.

As a tank, my priorities are: Hold aggro, push forward, deal damage, hold aggro, stay alive, and hold aggro.

I'm not trying to be condescending or anything. I hope you don't take any of this advice that way; it's not my intent. I only mention it because you mention you main the blaster and aren't a tank often.
And mine. While I don't tank here, often, I usually play tanks in every other friggin' MMO I've played in the last ten years or so. None taken, in other words; I wouldn't have posted here unless I meant to garner some tips ;-)
-The tank I mentioned running previously, I did run from scratch through all the TFs as a team leader on, but I'll be the first to say I took every tip an experienced CoH tanker (who was taking one round as a scrapper) was willing to send my way.

In my experience, a tanker who is not humble enough to take advice or ask for it, is usually not a good tank! ;-)

Thank you both; looks like it is time to come up with a concept, then. Appreciate the opinions!

(Not too worried about damage, in the end... keeping the team alive and running is the main goal!)

    Opinion, please

Okay, note I'm usually more of a blaster type, but I do have one successful WP/SS tank that knocks around the server.

On my home server, we have a series of TFs/etc that occur every Monday, and I am one of the usual suspects for that series. Last night, we started a new round, and I noticed a lack of tankage. So, thinking about rolling a new Tank.

Anyone have opinions on a Ele/Kin Combat tank?

As mentioned in another thread, I'm thinking of a Praetorian tank or brute.

Anyone have opinions on kinetic combat paired with electricity?
  9. Was great fun, myself!

--Anyone have any opinions about a Kinetic combat / elect tank or brute?
  10. Praetorian arcs: Myrdinn Red (duplicate of my villain Myrdinn Dark). Eng/Grav Dom.
Regular arcs: Myrdinn Dark. Eng/Grav Dom.

Level two, and right in front of ze ol' Marauder.
  11. Sorry for the late bow out; looks like I'm getting snagged. :-S
  12. Hrm.

Well, for the regular villain runs, I'd really, really like to bring my Myrdinn Dark (dominator) out, Mapserver Daemon (mm), Hanse (brute), or Baron Deckard (brute). But, hrm.

I'll meditate a bit on what toon to bring; do you need me to roll a tank/brute for this run? If we start in Praetoria, I'll be free to start with *anything* to make it a villain.

    lol

You didn't see me this morning. I think I blew through most of my special gaidhlig in about a minute, hit some nice choice nihon-go, and spent a good ten minutes conjugating crisis/apocalypse while promising three different campuses/campii (I can never make up my mind on the proper plural for campus)'s directors and one dean that we could get the students in before anyone needed to consider any drastic action.

I think that the academic world is ensuring that my heart is good. That's how I explain the blood pressure. On the upside, the newest new guy hasn't quit, and only one of the "been here a couple of years" guys is updating his resume; this means the fires aren't as hot as some years previously.

That and I *have* made up my mind to get a doctorate. I'd love to be on the other side of the cooking dish, if only by the handle whilst roasting.

And the nice people in India who I talked to *after* getting that problem (which was one of seven interesting points in the day) solved were gracious enough to agree to tell us before they change any aspect of the login process for their webinar platform... now, if I can just get them to spell my name right in my email, I might receive said notices.
  14. Angus or Myrdinn might be there, assuming sanity this Saturday. Can I haz alt?

    Rant.

Planning to, once we get the evening classes up and going. The newest-new-guy (we burn through too many) is a bit shaken after this morning ;-)

...l think it is the first time he had to change security scripts on the fly (or even see us do it).

Adobe! Stop changing your Connect login screens five minutes before we are running six classes of webinar students!!

I now return you to your regurally scheduled Freedom Events.
  17. Was fun up until LR suddenly grew fangs, arms, a few feet, and a killer smile. :-)

Big thanks to all who came out for the fun and slaughter!
  18. 1:09, 14 deaths.

    Aye.
I think they were just much better at landing holds than I remember. Plus, I think about thirty of those deaths on my team's run were me; the sappers would nail me as I spun into a group... which would result in all my toggles being stripped after a second or so, and I'd faceplant. :-S :-Z
  20. 40 deaths, 3:25: 19

Deaths? We don't know.... for some reason, it reset (DCing problems every one of us). :-S
