Myopic Aardvark

Not so much a COH issue (other than the fact I can't play it right now).

There was me with a bunch of DirectX 10 games, looking forward to playing them when my 768Mb Geforce 8800 Ultra (which is just (convienently for the warranty) over a year old) decides to die.

Green pixels and screen tearing everywhere whenever I start Windows. Then randomly, it's fine and I can play a game for oooh, 1 minute before it crashes.

A little bit of checking online and it seems that the issue is, indeed a defunct card.

So I'm looking for a replacement for my beast of a graphics card in the sub £200 range (delusional, I know).

Does anyone else have any suggestions for a replacement or comments on my choice of replacement? I want to be able to run Far Cry 2 without any issues or turning down graphics options, just like my last card.

Right, just managed to get it. 2 Speed Boosts, sprint and Combat Jumping made it very easy. (47 seconds).

Think I'm going to make sure that my second builds have six slotted sprint, combat jumping and anything else which will increase my speed, just for this event.

I managed to get 24.67 seconds without being buffed. Mind you i did have SS and CJ on.Only took about 10 mins for the 3 badges too

I'm going to have to assume that's in a (currently not there) Pocket D 2 then? Since the Union best time in Pocket D currently shows 41.something seconds and Defiant shows 40.88, that's one hell of an achievement...

Cannot get past 56 seconds - it's my time, every SINGLE shot I've had on that bloody Expert course, even with multiple SB's, IR's and AM's that's my best time (in fact the more I get the harder it is).

Also, that stupid pause you get going through the teleporter in the middle of the course? Who's idea was that?

How someone managed to get 41 seconds I'll never know.

Edit 2: To Vox below - I remember last year's rants. Please accept my belated sympathies - I had no problem with last years. This years are just ridiculously silly.

Edit 3: GAHHHHH - Okay, I finally got it down to 49 seconds, but.... one of the stupid gates didn't register half way down the track....

Powers - Combat Attributes, right click on attribute and add to display (or something like that).

Getting a widescreen monitor was one of the best upgrades I could make to this game - I've got lots of space to play around with on screen - I use this layour for everyone, mostly recolouring it dependent on character (and I've just realised, I've forgotten for that one on screen!)

Depends on the level and what you're normally used to getting at said levels at said times... *shrugs*

Arc bonus gives XP & Inf. Merits give a Enhancements/Recipes etc.

That doesn't seem like a fair swap to me.

If that's the way it is now then fine, but sometimes I'd rather have 2000XP, than a piddly 2 or 3 merits.

Did Issue 13 remove story arc bonuses? None of the new story arcs seem to have any and ones that did used to have them now seem to be lacking them?

Anyone else noticed this at all?

1650x1080 here - am quite happy for it to remain the size it is in windowed form. Very handy
