Time to lobby for a red only issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be fine with me and I don't play red side. Just give my heroes a costume piece or two and a couple new badges and I'd be happy if everything else was geared towards villains. -

Issue 12 heroes will get some cool content and fixes. Villains will get Double XP weekend. Can't Wait.
[/ QUOTE ]
Since i12 is expected to be not as big as the previous three issues then I wouldn't be surprised if there was a double xp weekend in there somewhere(but for both sides). -

Long Term: A more complete product (i.e. both factions offer comparable content) will be a bigger player draw.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can see that, though I do doubt that playing a villain will ever have the same attraction as playing a hero to a majority of people.
At the same time, we don't know how long this game will last and if there will be a CoH2 or not, and even if there is a sequel if it will be as succesful. So long term as far as the City Of franchise is concerned may only be three years down the road(that's not a prediction, just throwing a number out there, we have no way of knowing what's gonna happen in the future), and if that is what the head honchos at NC Soft think than maybe concentrating more on blue side is in their best financial interest.
All that is pure speculation and I have no numbers to back any of that up, just throwing it out there as a possible reason. -
I don't know if this has been brought up in this thread or not, but what percentage of the game population plays heroes/villains? It's obvious and well known heroes is much more populated. Since that is the case then why would NC Soft/Cryptic develop for both sides equally? That doesn't seem like a smart business move.

Would you use hazard zones more if they had as much to do in them as normal zones? As many contacts (well hidden, of course), a police scanner, and the like?
[/ QUOTE ]
Hell yes I would! I would love to see some content added to Dark Astoria. -

I'd prefer hazard zones in CoV over CoH simply becuase of Masterminds. I would actually be able to go in and clean up solo against large groups. Plus my high level characters generally like to do that anyway.
So what IS the main reason why the hazard zones are empty? Is it because they are essentially unsoloable (especially early on)? Is it because there's only a handful of missions there anyway so there's really nothing worth doing?
To say CoV zones are themselves hazard zones is just dishonest. A key aspect to hazard zones is the size of the spawns. In CoV, there may be a lot of enemies standing around on the street, but rarely in groups larger than 4. Which is no different than any other outside zone I've seen for CoH.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are areas in each CoV zone with larger than normal spawns IIRC.
And Hazard zones are empty because there is nothing to do in them. They have no contacts, and no interactivity. This is a in instanced mission-content focussed game and player base.
You don't want Hazard Zones. You want a Hollows-Faultline-Striga-Croatoa alternate advancement path.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also in hazard zones there are no stores, trainers, and usually no hospital. I think they are under utilized. A decent team can go street sweeping in them and get tons of XP. And Dark Astoria has all the arcane groups you need to become rich. -

Please lay out for us what redside content has been bestowed upon us since i7. This does not, need I remind you, include zones that have us rescuing our most hated enemies [lol.... priceless], nor does it include Heaven oopsImean, Oroborous. Villains are ALLOWED INTO those zones; they are by no stretch of the imagination FOR us.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can't ask people to detail content for villains and in the same paragraph create an ad hoc exception for any content you don't feel meets you sensibilities. That's not an argument made in good faith.
Isn't it better just to admit that CoV got content, but it's content that you don't personally like? At least that's honest.

I agree completely. It must take someone stupid beyond belief to not see how heroes and villains teaming up to fight the Rikti invasion makes sense. If the Rikti take over or destroy the Earth, how is that in the villains best interest? It's not. It's in their best interest to get rid of any serious threats to their ambition, which the Rikti certainly are. -

Luck Charm is a popular 10-25k item
[/ QUOTE ]
i.e, cheaper than heroside
[/ QUOTE ]
I never pay more than 25k for it hero side, and I never pay 10k for brass. Now if some people do, then that is their fault for being impatient or stupid. The prices jump up and down so fast for salvage like that that anyone claiming Luck Charms go for 50k and failing to mention that they are often found for less than half that price is ignorant at best, and a flat out liar at worst. -

First, the gave me CoV. Where all the ATs can solo well at a good pace, unlike hero side, where only one AT can do it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Scrappers, Blasters, Peacebringers, and Warshades can all solo well at a reasonable pace. That's four. I haven't done the PB thing past level 7, but with their buffs self-contained I'm confident in my statement.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually Tankers and controllers also solo well. Or at least I haven't had any complaints with them. Are they slower than my hot knife through butter scrapper? Sure but they don't take forever to solo either.
[/ QUOTE ]
I did state "a good pace." Blasters do play differently since Defiance 2.0 was introduced. I could add them. Khels though, especially if you try to go human only from level 1, are painfully slow. PBs less than WSs. Tanks suck endurance and do piddly damage. Controllers? The most painful of all until much later in the game. Try soloing one from level 1 again some time.
In the end, though, a "good pace" is a highly subjective term.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree good pace is very subjective. But in all fairness if you make an all human kheld you are taking away an ATs best damage and only mez resistance. So one would be doing that to themselves. So when I say PBs and WSs go on that list I'm assuming tri-form since that is the most efficient way of making one(since all their tools are being utilized).
But in all fairness, I didn't solo much with my Warshade in the early levels so you are probably right. -
