Great advice in here. I feel like this build is coming together.
Switching GC for SotW is no problem. I really didn't look at a sustainable attack chain, just getting capped.
The +end proc sounds like a winner. But where to pull the slot? The only real possibility I can see is from death shroud. I think that is the only spot that will leave my defenses intact. Is the damage proc better there than the +dmg IO?
I'm leaning toward taking OG, just as an emergency mitigation power for low end situations. Only 1 slot for it, but it only needs one, so should come in handy when needed. I have return to battle for a rez (no real need for ST) and I might drop CoF and get hasten too. Seems without slots to devote, hasten would give me more utility out of the box. -

I have seen that build and it seems to be the standard in my price range. I really like having a second aoe (GD is pretty narrow) and a place for the -res proc though.
I reworked my build, with input from the Ramia Angriffe/Iggy Kamakaze build. I also took slots I had in CoF out as it sounds like they could be better used elsewhere.
I was able to soft cap melee and aoe but ranged was only able to get to 44.9%... so close!

Also, I'm not sure what to grab for the last power... Soul Transfer, Hasten, Oppressive Gloom? -
I haven't played much scrapper at high levels, usually play trollers & doms and I have no high level experience with DA. I came up with this build, soft capped to ranged and aoe, melee is only in the 20's but I have CoF up to -12% tohit, which I hope will be pretty much mean soft capped to melee with 1 Divine Avalanche.
The major questions I have are on other stats. I have +max end bonuses and went body app, but I assume end will be a problem. Is this true?
Also I have very little +rech. I can put in more LotG +rech (eventually), but my def will fall below the soft cap. Which is a better choice? DR is already at 16 sec recharge, I figure that is the main one I'd want to get +rech for.
I think I have a solid build and should suffice for the majority of content, but if I can make it really powerful easily, why not?
This guy is just more fun than I thought, I have a good concept/background and it seems relatively easy and cheap to make extremely powerful.

Heh, I guess not poor man's, maybe "average guy's" build. No purples or PvP sets, a couple of choice uniques and rare sets, should be within my price range if I stay vigilant on the market and run TFs for merits.
Do you have any recommendations on what to change to get melee or ranged capped too? I'm not sure where I can make sacrifices that won't hurt my damage output.
I moved a couple of things around per your suggestions. How much end mod is needed in short circuit and power sink to drain bosses? Do I have too much?

Ok, so I am getting a bit more serious about builds having seen difference in performance in one character that I respecced and slotted according to IO set bonuses.

Is softcapping worth it on this guy? I know my recharge is painfully low, which could be addressed with some purple sets, but this will not be a main and i don't have billions of inf at my disposal. The recovery and regen look decent to me, but I could be wrong.
No nuke and no travel. Not a big deal for me, but what do others think? I could drop fitness and get them, which if possible, would be preferred. I gather that an /elec can get by without fitness, is that a better choice for this build?
I had some odd slots, mostly for not having an idea where to put them where they would do more good.
The single target blasts are slotted to help with some set bonuses and the heal proc. That was the best I could come up with on my projected budget. Charged brawl is underslotted, but I couldn't figure out where to pull from to get it more slots.

Ok, one more question.
I'm looking at patron powers now. I'm leaning toward Mako to get a 3rd cone power to fill out my AoE chain.
This is my first 50 villain, so I don't have a lot of infamy to spend to get my +recharge up to alternate TT and NF. Ideally I'd have those two with enough recharge to alternate so I could go GW for Soul Drain.
Any advice for this? Is Mako a mistake? -

I've got him up to 31 so far. It's been fun, although I've mostly teamed, so I don't have a great sense of how he'll do solo. I will really test that out once I get Trip Mine.
Yea, and Life Drain is pretty underwhelming. It'd be nice if got a bump in the neighbor of what Siphon Life got. Is opting for heal other/heal self a better way to go? Or do you not feel you need the healing once everything is slotted up? -
So, I'm looking for a bit of an off-beat combo for my next villain. I have a good concept, which should help drag him through, but I can't find anything at all on this combination of sets (unless the search just hates me).
I'm sure this has been tried, so someone must know something about it. Is it just that bad?
I figure with the two cones (especially with one to keep mobs in place for the mortar) should work well. Seekers for alpha, PT for -regen and some mez. I'll have trip mine for extra damage too.
Anyone have advice for this?
