I have not gotten the pat "Your arc has been played" one yet...or are they one and the same?
  5. Hmm I must have missed some stuff in the clue description and flavor text in the fourth mission, because I do recall explaining many things...like a ham handed PPD dropping it in the trash by not paying attention.

The bosses are Electric Eel hybrids, if you didn't have that on your mish settings you didn't get to see them. :-/ I had too many complaints about their end drain abilities to keep them as anything other than bosses.

    Accent has been toned down.

I'll add a little more explanation as to why the robot can't make it out of the PPD itself.

Also, the whole "Morality" Aspect, it's completely limited right now until we get the tools to implement the morality choices. Until then you're pretty much "Forced" to pick what the author wants you to pick. Trust me, if I had the morality system to play with the whole thing woulda been awesome.
  6. yup they finally posted mine up too

And again, I don't think it's the people who didn't like the film who paid for several viewings, so I don't know who you're referring to by suggesting that we all hated it but secretly saw it 3 or 4 times in theaters.

"WORST STAR WARS EVAR! I'm only going to see it three more times...today."

quoth the Simpsons..and it applies to most nerd rage threads about movies. And about the whole "Don't like it don't see it" Well it's pretty simple. You see X Director on the bill, "Oh That guy is famous for doing WYZ. I don't like what he did so I'm not going to see him"

Kinda like Durakken who hated STO so much he started up 3 accounts.

You're basically saying that because we criticize something we shouldn't watch it, as if the "artist" has every right in the world to make a crappy film but we don't have the right to see it and point out the flaws.

I personally don't know of anyone who didn't like the film and paid to see it more than once, and that one time is everyone's way of giving the creative team a chance to build on what's come before and make a good movie, the same way it always is. We have every right to see a movie no matter who directed it or how many movies in the franchise came out before in the hopes that they'll do a better job, no matter if the previous films were excellent or crappy.

It's not too much to ask for these professional creators to always be looking for ways of making their work better. There are plenty of films and projects that one would categorize as inherently inferior because of the subject matter, yet there are folks out there like the ones at Pixar who aren't satisfied with just churning out a movie in the hopes of selling toys and they manage to create movies that appeal to kids and adults and work on multiple levels.
Don't like it, don't watch it. Seems to be pretty simple to be honest. There are other people out there who DO like the stuff you don't.

I don't like country music. I don't listen to it.
    I don't like rap. I don't listen to it.
    I don't like Romantic Comedies, I don't watch them.
    I don't like green peppers, I don't eat them.
I don't care for Stephanie Meyer as an author. I don't buy or read her books. *shrug*

I don't subject myself to something I don't like to tear it to shreds with reasons WHY I don't like it. I just won't listen to it.

And no it's not too much to ask that they better their works, but guess what, they aren't reading your posts, they aren't reading your emails, they aren't listening to your voice mail. YOU..do not exist to them except in the form of a dollar bill. THAT is what they listen to.

My point is: You know what Micheal Bay put out. If you see his name on the bill of any movie, you just don't go see it. It's really not that hard to say "I don't like that director so I won't go see his movies any more"
  11. as I tried to post before the forum lag hit me and I lost the whole thing:

    No he's not my uncle.

I just am mature enough to realize that (Despite your opinion) every artist sees things differently. Micheal Bay managed to get the Transformers franchise from Hasbro, and blammo he made movies. You don't have to go see them.

Hollywood doesn't take you seriously if you go "WORST MOVIE EVAR" Then go see the ******* thing 3 more times that day.

Give a screenie of your character to many artists here on this board, You'll get many different takes on your character.

I hated how they treated Deadpool in Xmen Origins. Know what, Ryan Reynolds didn't like it either so he's fixing it, because HE CAN. He is also one of the very VERY VERY Few people in Hollywood who listens to the bleats of the fan base, a minority. Most Hollywood people don't give a **** after you pay your money to see the movie. They got theirs. Want em to listen to you in the future? Don't go. Don't pay for it. perfectly simple.

The words "Well that sucked, I'm not going to see anything from that director again" can and do work. Don't like Micheal Bay's work, don't see it. That simple. He's made enough movies for you to know what his MO is. KABOOMS, little plot. KABOOM! tiny plot.

It's like if you went to go see the Expendables expecting some touching lovey dovey romance. like come on.

Nah, it's more like **** everyone who isn't mature enough to realize that not everyone has the same "vision" for their childhood franchises as they do, and just because they have an internet connection, it doesn't mean the director of said films will read your ideas. THAT is my point.

Of course, considering the "few million dollars" for the second movie came from all of us that paid to see the first one, then we all have an invested claim in how the movie gets treated. And you are aware that Bay didn't put any of his own money into that movie. Right?

It's like if someone made a My Little Pony movie with motorcycles instead of horses. That's how far off Bay got it. The first movie, I enjoyed. The second one? There were some characters that acted in ways they never should have (especially some lines from Optimus) which just isn't right.

I don't care if they look the same as the cartoon, who really thinks a VW Bug is going to kick ***!? But when the characters aren't being treated right (or when they make insulting stereotype characters) then people have a valid reason to complain. As children, we didn't know better. As adults, we do.

And while as children we might have enjoyed the laser show, take a poll on how many of us we're rocked by the death of Optimus Prime in the original movie. The number of kids who cried over that should indicate that Transformers was more than just a toy commercial for them.

As children yes one gets attached to characters but guess what. We are adults here. I am looking at it as an adult now, not as that starry eyed 8yr old girl. 30min toy commercial. I grew up, I sure as hell hope you did too. I look at any new cartoon my kids watch, know what, they are ALL 30min toy commercials for you to buy crap for them. Sure they're attached to the characters, but when they grow up, they'll probably see it just like I do now. A long winded toy commercial with a bare minimum plot.

Micheal Bay kept it up by making it a 2hr long GM/Chevy commercial. At least he was true to the original in that way :P

You obviously stopped watching after the G1 series, so it's understandable you feel that way. Of course, to me, the animated movie did have a plot (a good one for being a children's movie). But if you've watched any of Beast Wars, you'd see the G1 series became the base point for continuity and it had a very solid plot line through out the series.

So while G1 didn't have as much plot, Transformers itself has evolved into something stronger. Therefore, people would like to see better treatment of the franchise. Also, being adults, we're capable of following more complicated plots than we were as children. So yeah, we're gonna ***** when the plot is insulting. We want Transformers for adults.

But not in a dirty way.

Well, I'm sure there's a few who might...
Then go get a few million dollars and make your own damn movie. Don't ***** when someone's vision doesn't match your own.
  15. Oh look another "Micheal Bay ***** my childhood" thread.

    Know what?

TRANSFORMERS WAS A THIRTY MINUTE TOY COMMERCIAL BY HASBRO, NOTHING MORE.

It had no plot, it had no real rhyme nor reason except giant robots beating the **** out of each other.

Bay's Transformers are 2hr long GM/Chevy commercials. Bigger toys for bigger boys :P

Personally I don't go watch Transformers (Never have watched it for) deep plot twists and haute cinema. Even when I was a kid it was "COOL BIG ROBOTS I WANT THAT ROBOT MOM MOM MOM I WANT THE CONSTRUCTACONS!!!" I didn't give a **** about the plot. Big Robots Make things go kaboom. Plot..end.

Transformers never had, and never WILL have a very deep existential plot line. 30 minute toy commercial, that's all it ever was. Damn good toy commercial though.
  16. Put my arc up on your site. (points to sig) Have at 'er
  17. Anyway, I did fix the stuff you pointed out for sure. The accent, well, he's supposed to be a homage to a famous Nazi doctor that did some primitive genetic experiments back in World War 2 and beyond when he fled to South America. You get the idea right? >.> recent "immigrant" so to speak.

At lvl 50 I have little remorse for defense based toons but the trick is to have a balanced group so that it has differing tricks up its sleeve for different kinds of players. An all to hit buff group would be bad but having one or two gives a SR toon something to prioritize while a resist toon might aim for the generic defense guy and yet a controller might target the webnader first.

Also, I forgot to mention that you might want special titles like Elite or Advanced as opposed to officially having LT in the Zoo Security's title for higher ranks.
I just don't want them too super-power-y or anything in their names indicating otherwise. They are just regular dudes moonlighting at a zoo vet hospital guarding endangered species from getting picked up and sold on the black market...not only that, I have that 100k I need to consider >.>
  19. thank you. The "more" would be actually having the alignment choices and interactive text (like click on buddy he monologues then you kick his butt) put into the Mission architect. I know that much. Trust me, if I had that toy I would make that arc shine so bright...but alas, all I have is a shamwow instead of a buffing pad.

I'll fix those typos. And the Accent. Well he is from the 5th's dimension.. >.>

About the Zoo security..I tried to have EM but people complained, I can't really find a good secondary for something like that..and the security forces cut off at a certain level. I'll look into it though. I don't want to add tohit to them because defense based toons QQ You get the idea

    Will fix the "Monkey" references

Ok, I dropped the Webnade from both the minion and LT Zoo security force and replaced it with Willpower's Quick Recovery. That way no one can really QQ hard. >.>

True, Funny thing is, I didn't mind running Faathim and Augustine (I think Augustine is the one with Ruladak) It's Quaterfeld and Moore that bite the big one in the worst way.

You are not forced to team with others. In fact, this game does not force you to do anything. You are welcome to solo your entire career without ever joining a team.

However, there should be content that is accessible only to teams.

    1. From a game perspective, an MMO should promote teaming for some things at least. Whether you like it or not, that's the whole point of an MMO. It's an inherently multiplayer game.
    2. From a story perspective, it's common in comics to see the storyline focusing on a big threat that no single hero alone can handle. He has to team up with others to fend it off. The game should represent that, and does.

Truf. Even The God Damn Batman teams at times. Deadpool even formed his own little squad of Rogues (Ladypool, Kidpool, Dogpool) .
  22. I'm still waiting on the link to that FRAPS footage of TheBritisher soloing The Lich King in WoW, since he said all instances can be solod there.
  23. His taskforce is horrible. It is long, drawn out, plain annoying as hell.

First: you need 8 to start. That needs to be dropped down to at least 6.

Second: Get rid of at least 3/4 of the hunt missions.

Third: Get rid of the simu-click objectives. Those are just over the top and can be made into normal click objectives.

Fourth: Toss in an AV please. It feels anti-climactic to be grinding for hours (and it feels like a grindfest) to just come up against bosses. (there is another Shard TF that is the same way too)

Changing these four things will make people actually want to play it, same way you guys did with the new Posi.

Glad you brought up ED and the GDN considering how much of my opinion is based on changes like that.

When the min team size requirements were put into place, this game was an entirely different creature. Now we have temp powers, IOs, soon to have incarnate buffs (which will be functioning for any level 50 TF/SF we decide to run) versus how things were five+ years ago. ANY decision based on how things were back then are now moot. Glad you agree.

Basing it on "let's make it high enough that if people drop, there *might* still be enough to finish" is ridiculous. "We'll make it 6, maybe only two will drop." Oh yea? And if four drop? Guess you should have made the min size 8. Oh, but WAIT, this ALSO occurred back in the day when if you DCed during a TF you were kicked out of the TF completely. Another moot point with the current game.

The min size requirement is arbitrary NOW. It is useless NOW. Whatever decisions were made 5+ years ago mean absolutely nothing NOW.

You are correct. I see no sense in any of them. If I want to smash my head against constant failure as I would if I attempted to solo the STF I see no reason why some completely arbitrary minimum team size requirement should be placed in my way.
Unfortunately there are stupid SF's like the Quaterhell that DEMAND you have 4 people minimum on to complete, because of the "Get 4 people to the computers and click at the same time" crap. (I personally think THAT is stupid..because if you wanna solo it, go ahead n solo it...no one wants to go along on that mad grind fest except for badges anyway)
