  1. Don't you love it when you work hard all year and told you are wonderful?

Don't you hate it when your idiot employer freezes everyones salaries because the economy blows?
  2. My 2 cents and this realllyyyyyyyy irritates me.

Auto contacts with story arcs. I really have enough to do with 5 accts and multiple toons, I do not need the added necessity of having to clear Daedalus, Mercedes Sheldon, Montague Castanella, and Percy Winkley ALL when I am levelling up a toon. Seriously, if I want these contacts I know when and where to get them.

Put FA back the way it was.

Put the LGTF back to 35+. Its not harming anyone that way, and it makes it more fun.

The recipe window is a pain now, please fix.

I am also in agreement about the mission selector. While I understand it is a bug and being worked on, according to the post up there, its been being worked on since 12/3. Its 1/6

Also granting of the freespecs. Hate to beat a dead horse, but once again they weren't announced, then they were announced (by Posi who said "get your old ones used by 12/21") and then it was given out 12/17. Unfortunately I did not check the forums on 12/15 when it was announced they'd be given out on 12/17 since I was under the assumption that the prior announcement (see here) regarding 12/21 was THE ANNOUNCEMENT. Could we maybe for I14 (if they are granted), get ONE simple notice? It would make life much easier for everyone....

Thats it, otherwise, I enjoyed the winter event and the rest of I13 is okay.

    Christmas in PI

    ahhh that was awesome!!!!

Merry Christmas Sarah (PF) and to everyone on Liberty - no matter what zone you are in!
  4. Thank you for the freespec reissue and notice.

Isn't it standard now a days for freespecs and free tailor tokens to be given out with the release of a new issue? I'm pretty sure this has become the "norm" now. Not to take away from your point Hellguard at all, but it should be some what expected now as far as the freespecs and stuff go. And at least you were calm about it with your questioning. I for one won't complain though if they give another freespec because they didn't give notice before hand.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem is its never been stated that its the official norm, usually we get the "well, maybe..." and then the announcement. However the last 2 times, they went live with freespecs without announcing them and then turned around and announced them thereby giving them again. I hope that is what they do to rectify this situation as I am litle disappointed that this would happen again.
  6. Its actually not expecting it on a new character, its using up the old ones to get enhances off or respeccing a toon you've wanted to do for a while and then being able to either use the next new one for the same reason or saving it for a rainy day. I understand about community reps leaving but when it happens three times in a row, its just silly. All I am asking for is a little advance notice.

One Freespec Token for each character, to find out more about Respecification check out the Paragon Wiki Article at the Titan Network.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is it okay to ask why the freespec wasn't announced in advance? There wasn't even a hint that there would be one this time (although everyone figured there would be), much less an announcement so that people could use old freespecs they already had. The first "notice" that anyone had was a mention on the UK boards while the servers were still down for the Issue 13 update.

Also, having the freespec grant during the actual issue update made it so no new characters (such as Shields or Pain Dom characters) could have one.

When this happened before, another freespec was granted shortly thereafter to make up for the first one not being announced. Do you foresee this happening this time?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would like to know about this as well. I do believe this is a third time in a row that this has happened. I would like to know if the freespec is going to be granted again, like it has been in the past to correct this error. Also please, if you decide to give one out in I14 - tell us ahead of time. Even a day's notice is nice.

Oh, and giggle with glee. Don't forget the giggling, MonkeyB.

I know I will be. That auto-refund will be a thing of joy to behold. The news of it lifted me out of my I-13 depression, and brought me back to actually playing this game again. (I've been visiting Middle Earth the last 3 weeks.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's awesome news then, I was worried about moving around all my tpers and my storage bins - I am at max capacity at the moment due to a leaving person giving me all his stuff! For the first time in 4 years I am totally unorganized!
  10. QR

I did have another question and this is more for the veteran base builders. When this goes live with the prestige refund thingy in place, will I need to rebuild my rooms (ie the tper rooms etc.), or I just have to walk in, collect my prestige refund and go on with my base remaining the same? I'm a bit confused by the whole redoing thing v. the prestige refund. Thanks in advance.

Then do one of three things. Scrap it, Fix it before it goes live, or raise the cap on the storage limit. Don't throw garbage at us and expect us to like it. FIX IT!!

Is it really that hard for you to store future holiday salvage on your person until the day finally comes that your salvage rack already stuffed with holiday salvage drops below 30?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes it is. its a change that is idiotic, and unreasonable. Currently I have the max amount of storage for a base my size. this will hinder what I want. If they want to do this for base salvage, I don't really care. It's the other salvage that I have a problem with. I will make my opinion known on this change as I think its a lousy change.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree with GA, 30 is an idiotic amount when you add in the holiday and event salvage. I am sorry Sunstorm but making it 30 will not make me run to the market and sell stuff (as seems to be the intention). Instead I will use my 20+ 50s as mules to hoard my stuff. I do it now, so I guess I will just have to give them a little more stuff to hold. Either way, I won't be forced to do anything I do not want to do.

Also here's a question for you (not sure if its been asked or not), but I am curious if the different containers will ever be given different permission settings, i.e., the base inspiration holders vs. the enhancement holders. I'd love to be able to set the inspiration holders to "everyone" can take, but unforunately they are governed under the same settings as the enhancement bins.

Or you get the message (in a gray box of doom) "map shutting down" and then you are forcibly disconnected (like if someone else logged onto your acct and kicked you).
  16. I liked the tf, did it 3x. Once with a pug from our server's badge channel, had no problem, we beat it. Then I did it twice in a row with my friends, once on invinc and once on wus...er heroic and we beat it both times. The only thing that I don't care for is sometimes the floor (the sand area) is veryyyy bright. And we got some lag going up the mountain to defeat the five generals (not just me, the entire team - who consisted of people running windows xp, to vista, to ati cards to dual nvidia cards, a plethora of super computer equipment!).

    Otherwise, had a grand time.

Also, bugs are not the only reason changes get reverted on test server. See the last Assassin Strike change.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We weren't talking about reverting something on the test server. We were talking about reverting something on the live server and leaving it on the test server for more testing (and there's no need to do that).

    [/ QUOTE ]
And the only reason you both are having the discussion is that if the changes were announced on the test server, then people could have spoken then. They were denied that chance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Odds are, if the change was announced on the test server, the shear volume of negativity toward the change would have caused them to not implement it as-is, and instead they would have gotten to the biggest hurdles immediately (like re-examining and changing the minimum number required to start) rather than some day in the future, before it went live.

    [/ QUOTE ]

BINGO. And who would suffer if they had to do that? The devs...it would (and is going to most likely) take a longgggggg time to redo all the tfs that need work (Positron...the shards....etc.), fixing the "start up" requirement for tfs, etc. All that could have been, and imo should have been addressed, long before this change went live. If it had been on test, and it had been on the test patch notes (hey why wasn't it there either....hmm...) then people probably wouldn't have thrown a fit, sort of like we are doing now.

Roll it back, fix the tfs, give the customer what they want.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
The only fair way to test this change is to roll it back and let us test it on the test server.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It has already been on the live server long enough for the playerbase to spot any important bugs.

Apparently the change is working as intended, which is what testing is meant to determine. We can always complain about how the change affects our play style, but the devs are not obligated to respond to such complaints. Different people have different issues, and you can't please everybody.

Personally, this change doesn't affect me at all, so I'm not complaining.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And the testing is going oh so well, seeing some of these posts in this thread. TFs being abandoned, casual players opting to just not do them anymore, people with special need cases, feeling like they can't start up or participate due to their possible afkness. Oh yeah I can see how this testing is going so well.

    Well at least Tony's are
  21. We'd have more "hard cold data" if in fact this change had been: 1: announced on the test server patch notes; and 2: we had been able to test it. Asking us about it now AFTER it has gone live with a stealth nerf (because I do not buy the bs it slipped through the cracks) would be insulting. The only fair way to test this change is to roll it back and let us test it on the test server.

But that would mean that someone high up would have to admit they were wrong....and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Before the Intro to Vanguard patch, Freedom was sending some players to Ouroboros 3.

    [/ QUOTE ]
During the last day of the double xp weekend, Triumph was getting RWZ3, and I was crashing zoning to either Ouroboros or the RWZ.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Right. Which is precisely why that arc was patched. Notice: the devs didn't remove talk-to-contact mission bonuses from all Ouroboros arcs -- just the problematic arc, the same way they shouldn't make sweeping changes to all Task Forces simply because soft-spawning to Cap SFs and the STF/RSF are having debatably undesirable consequences.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Accept if dealing with Soft Spawning, it wasnt just the Farming of the Cap TFs that used it. I have to this day not found a Respec team for villians that didnt require everyone to log out before the thorn tree mission to lower the number of vines needed to kill. And i think they even fixed that didnt they? Yet still the general consensus is "Log out and make it easier". And since have had people do the same thing on Positron, Snapse, the hero respec to make less mobs in the find key rooms etc.

Its not just a farming issue it a apain in the [censored] issue as far as im concerned. I used to play with someone that used to run 3 accounts. She would log them all in to start a TF and either log them out or keep one going on follow to farm xp and drops. Those are rewards that others should have been earning, or had better chance of earning if she wasnt running multiple toons cause she could require the soft loading of tough missions to make up for the fact we were really running 2 men short due to her extra bagage.

So im sorry, im for any change that actually gets people wanting to play the game for the fun of a team, rather then the rewards it might earn them. The rewards are nice, dont get me wrong, but if people actually have to get REAL players involved in the team again, and cant inflate there chances to 3/8 of getting the best rewards running useless toons through a TF im all for it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If the Pool C drops were looked at and possibly revised a long time ago, people might not have been "soft loading" in the first place. People are TIRED of spending 4.5 hours doing a LGTF and getting "sting of the manticore" or "crap of the hunter". They want something worth a little more or hell even slottable.

So yeah I'm still going to run tfs with a duo and stack the team to our favor, because I want some rare recipes - I want stuff (in proportionate amount to the time I spent taskforcing...I don't consider a crap of the hunter anywhere near worth the effort of doing a tf) I can sell FOR A PROFIT or I want stuff I can slot on the next toon I want to IO out. Oh and the argument that you don't have to IO out your toon yada yada. Well, I like IOing out my toons, that to me is FUN. So yeah...this change, while irksome to me, is not the be all end all for ME, it is however for casual players that want to do a tf just like you do - with a bunch of people and taking their chance on getting a crappy recipe.

And the really good news is...I can afford to buy the Pool C rares that people are going to sell for 80 mil...100 mil now. Can you?

As far as I'm concerned anything he could say in a PM was said in the thread with the explianations. Don't kid yourself into thinking that but if he only read my PM it may change his mind.

This change is here to stay. That is clear to me from what I read in that other thread. The question is wether or not minimum starting numbers for certian TFs are going to be reduced.

Or, what if they individually examine the Task Forces they're having issues with (as was done with Katie TFs), and try not to let other Task Forces get caught in the crossfire?

So how many people's pms to Posi still remain unread?

    *raises hand*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately they cant do that because the very same players that spend all there time farming this or that, would simply then move onto the next most profitable TF v. Time invest to farm. Then the devs would spend more time "fixing" that TF to have the mobs move onto the next one, and the next. Setting a simple, and fully fair set of rules to ALL the TF/SF creates consistancy of the expectations for the system and becomes predictable for players instead of having rules that apply to this one or that one but not others. And saves the Devs time to created wanted new features rather then having to fix TF after TF as players migrate to the new Fast Cap experience.

And if i was Posi i would not be reading any PM that delt with this issue either. Its a fair change, to make a system work "as intended". Im sure the devs never intended you to be able to run 4-5 TFs in a one hour period for the rewards. Multiply that by people running 3-4 accounts in the same TFs with no one at the helm simply just there to get more loot, both the minimum spawn levels and the soft loading changes seem more then fair IMO. They really effect no one that wasnt looking for the easy way to exploit the recipie drop system to begin with.

Its really funny sometimes when i recall people crying for end game content and crafting and suchfor so long. And when they get it the first thing they do is work on figuring out how to exploit the system instead of play within it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kind of like when people reminisce about the Hami bud exploit and nuking?
