Silas,
just wanted to say thanks, I'm new to corrs and CoH, your guide has been one very detailed, humorous and enjoyable source of information I can recall on, I've actually printed it out so I don't have to keep alt tabbing when in game to get any tips on the corrs I am currently playing.
Trying out a few sets to see which ones I like the most, got a Fire/Dar, Beam/Traps atm, gonna get them both to 20 and see which one I prefer to take to 50 as my first main char. -
Quote:Thinking of making a Fire/Dark and altering the colours to make it look more like an ion cloud than dark powers or fire powers, match that with a cyborg body and electric aura and I should be sweet, best of both worldsWell, I know that Katana, Claws, Broadsword and Titan Weapons all have Tech looks, all Street and as far as Tech on the blast/corr look I'd say Electric/Radiation/Fire/as well as the weapon ones (AR/Beam/Pistols) can be good,

Quote:I played a Dar/Dar Corr and liked its dmg/support style role, but it doesnt fit my play theme and it is kind of buggin me a little, might have to look for a corr that is tech based, maybe a beam/traps ?well My biases would lean towards Blaster or Corruptor, but Brutes can be fun to Solo and also contribute on teams (pretty much by SMASHing)
What about a Mastermind robots with a techy secondary or a Stalker, maybe elm/ea or elm/nin -
Hehe thanks for the welcome. still trying to decide what character to play first, Villain of course but not sure what one.
Looking for a class that can solo very well but also work well in a team, prefer a Tech/futuristic theme over a mystical / dark theme.
Any ideas? -
Quote:OMG thank you so much, I've been spending the last day trying to find a good dark guide. I am really crap at searching hahaSeriously, read this. There are sections for every buff/debuff powerset available to corrs except for Time. The link takes you to the Dark Miasma guide.
I'll bookmark this. -

Quote:Texas thank you for the assistanceWelcome.
I'm not certain how the Australia channel is set up, but I do know how channels in general work.
Some global channels are set to Silence on Join to keep people from spamming the channel. This means that anyone new joining the channel cannot talk in the channel until they are unsilenced by one of the channel operators. It's really helpful for public channels to keep repetitively offensive posters from leaving the channel and then rejoining it to get around being silenced for misbehaving.
Just send a /tell to the global name of one of the channel ops asking them to unsilence you. Channel ops have a star beside their name in the channel list.
You may also want to join the channels Justice For All and/or Justice United as they are two of the largest channels on Justice. I know JFA is set for Silence on Join but I don't know about JU. As I said before, just send a tell to an op and they'll unsilence you. -
Hi Guys,
Just got back into the game and back into Justice, I'm a new player and heard that there are a decent amount of Aussies on this server so I decided to roll on here.
Hope to see you all around.
p.s can someone help me work out how to use the #Australia channel, when I join it it sais I don't have right to talk in it, not sure how to use custom channels.
Thanks -

Quote:Evening Mr Grumpums,Hi there, Kitiara! Welcome back to CoH!
I hope you don't mind, but I'll suggest you go with either a /Traps, /Cold, /Radiation, /Dark, or /Time corrupter. These sets all offer a variety of ways to weaken enemies, as well as protect yourself and allies from an assault.
In terms of damage, I heartily recommend Fire Blast. It deals the most damage, but also has a high endurance cost. Power sets like /Radiation can help ease the endurance cost of power by raising recovery.
Personally, I absolutely love my Fire/Time Corrupter, but I've also hears wonderful things about Sonic/Radiation or Sonic/Traps. Another wonderful combination, both for theme and fighting ability, is Dark Blast/Dark Miasma.
Paring things down, I would play either a Fire/Time Corrupter or a Dark/Dark Corrupter if I wanted to enjoy playing solo. Both have excellent heals, powerful debuffs and very solid damage.
Thank you for taking the time to give me some advise, I was reading through a few more guides today and liked the sound of the Dark/Dark combo, its secondary has a nice combination of support, cc and survive-ability. -
Hi Guys,
New to Corruptors and also CoH as well, played a little while back but for only ~2 months, have settled down now in my new home so can jump on a few hours a night/weekend to have some fun.
Due to my time zone (Aussy +10GMT) I don't see myself getting in groups till mid to late lvl with the low pop at low lvl, so will need a power set that I can learn and survive on solo and move from there into groups, I am a fan of Crowd control and supporting while also dealing moderate to good damage, this was one reason why I want to play a corruptor as they seem the only class where I can focus on both power groups equally for an overall experience instead of focusing down one route.
---
Requirements:
I don't have any preference over looks of the skills sets, I can make a character to suit the powers, heck it would probably be fun to do it that way so I can get creative with the costume.
I prefer a challenge that will leave me with a rewarding feeling when I do it right over a "mash head on keyboard" to win setup. Not saying any of the power sets are like that but you know what I mean, If it means I need to work at it and learn the powers to become a deadly foe with the set then so be it, I would rather work on the character and build up something I am proud of over something that went so fast to 50 I just want to re roll cause it was all a blur.
due to the absolutely appalling internet quality where I live, a setup that doesn't require precise timing or pinpoint/timing accuracy to get the combo's off right would be preferred but not required
---
I've been reading over the forums but allot of the talk is either about end game or requires a good knowledge of CoH to make heads and tail, this is the other reason for my post.
Hope you all could help me out with making my decision, with RL I cannot dedicate a huge amount of time to the game so I would prefer to make a character based on an informed decision now and work on one character than play the game and reroll 10 times to find the right set
If you need me to answer any questions to help me choose my sets then please fire away.
Kindest Regards
K
P.S I will be playing as a VIP -
Thanks for the update Nemo, nice to see you back. I've just come back as well, going to be making my first corruptor and this guide helps allot.
Do you have any thoughts on Beam Rifle and Psychic Blast on primaries and poison on secondary, looks like the only three Powers you haven't done.
