  1. I'm poor, and can't afford purples anytime soon. So please look over this build with just typical set IO's and let me know what you think.

The only thing I am not too pleased with is Mace Beam Volley. I have the Positron's in storage, and I wanted to eek out a bit more recharge. I really want Venom Grenade, but then that leaves that point at lvl 4 begging for something I don't have the slots for. I've heard that fitness is going inherent, in which case I'll probably add the Leadership powers. Thanks!
  2. @Matreya

Almost all the people that I got to know on this server and played with have slowly slipped away, and I'm pretty much running around on my own now. I moved some of my characters to Freedom but I don't want to totally give up on this server yet.

I'm a 63-month vet looking for a good, active SG and VG on Infinity. I always prefer teaming to soloing. Thanks!

    Taunt skill

Have it on the build you use for teaming. Don't have it on the build you use for soloing.

    Played around with your build.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Very nice, unfortunately, with current prices, it's far too expensive. I'll just have to keep it for when I can afford it.
  5. Good stuff so far. I picked kick just to not have a punching power with exactly the same animation as jab, but oh well.

I'll have a revised build posted tomorrow. I had overslotted attacks to get the regen bonus from pounding slugfest, but if I can get hasten and maybe even dull pain perma that will more than make up for it.

I'll definitely drop unstoppable. I never use it, and even if I did have to use it, whatever was hurting me so bad probably wouldn't be dead in 3 minutes anyway.

    3. Again "frankensloting" in Stomp is far less effective than just picking a set and going with it...I suggest Multi-Strike.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would lose quite a bit of energy/negative defense if I did that...for nothing really useful in return.
  7. As of this moment, this is my current LVL 50 "teaming" build on General Matreya.

Yes, I picked unstoppable and focused accuracy. The problem is I ran out of slots, and I couldn't think of two other powers that would be as effective with just one slot in there. So I looking for some options as to what powers would be preferred over those two, keeping in mind I won't have any slots for them. Hasten came to mind, but the fact is I already have endurance issues with all these toggles, my current recharge rates, and the Rage end crash.

If you could point out any other gross inefficiencies I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not really interested in purple sets; I don't have the money for it.
  8. [ QUOTE ]

Mostly what I want to ask, do you consider bosses like this balanced? All offense no defense? Or is this a case of a mob causing almost no trouble for some, and endless trouble for others? I want my Arc to be a challenge, but frustration is no fun

    [/ QUOTE ]

You, as the mission creator, need to decide these things. Apparently there's the notion that "you can do no wrong" with what the MA allows you to do.

For example, there's nothing particularly "wrong" with having a mob that hits hard but has no defense. Does it fit your concept for that character? Maybe you want to have other characters with opposite characteristics (all defense and low offense, etc). I dunno what your plans are, but these are the sort of things you want to think about. Again, you can "do no wrong" if it fits your concept.

The other thing is that you have to remember that other players will be playing your content, and if players find your content difficult to complete they may abandon it. Think about the playerbase in general - they want a challenge, but not something ridiculous. They don't use the forum. They aren't all IO-ed out. They aren't hardcore players. They want something fun. Do you want any player to be able to complete your mission? Difficulty is only one part of the fun equation and there is a very fine line between fun difficulty and difficulty that stops being fun. If your mission wil be an overwhelming challenge, you may want to communicate this to the player in some fashion so they can prepare adaquately.

The only way to know where you are along that difficulty/fun continuum is to playtest with different AT's and different size groups. Good luck.
  9. For anyone on the Windows 7 Beta, the new catalyst 9.3 drivers work very well with CoX. There are still the issues of FSAA and the Water effects. But the game is now very much playable.
