A Guide to Debt-Free Raiding (Or Hami-Raiding for Cowards)

Raiding Hami is fun. Having debt is not, even at level 50. I take a certain pride in having zero debt at level 50, and I strive to maintain that state as much as I can while still being a solid contributor to raids. This guide in no way advocates standing on the sidelines waiting for a Hamidon Enhancement because one of your teammates damaged Hamidon for you. That said, here's how to raid like a coward without actually being one.

    What you Need:
    1) A single target attack with a range that meets or exceeds the radius of the goo around Hamidon.
    2) Some manner of flight, either through a power pool or a teammate with Group Fly.
    3) Phase Shift (for emergency use)

    What you Do:
First, in all things not specifically addressed below, follow the guidelines presented in Tic Toc's guide. He outlines a strategy that has worked for years.

-- During the Mito clearing phase, keep the targeter targeted, but maintain a position just outside of Hamidon's goo that still allows you to hit what the targeter is aiming for. Blasters and Defenders with their snipes can do this with a few range enhancers. Use flight powers to move above the ground level perimeter to attack higher mitos and those that are close to Hamidon. While your attack is recharging, you'll have time and a good position to keep an eye out for wandering monsters or griefers. You'll also be able to spot mitos the targeter might not have noticed. Keeping yourself out of the healing bubble is not without risk, but if you stay as far from the mitos as you can while attacking, your chance of drawing aggro will be quite small.

-- During the Hold phase, again keep away from the main group of heroes. If you have a Hold power, hover high and use it at the maximum range you can. This will once again place you at least third in line for aggro behind the aggro tank and the large crowd of heroes at Hami's base. You won't be as buffed as the heroes below, but you'll be well clear of any splash damage if there happens to be a griefer quietly taunting Hami in the middle of the mob. If you don't have a Hold, vacate the goo until the attack phase begins.

-- During the attack phase, again keep clear of the main heroes. Be aware of the Request channel so that you know when things might be going bad. If the aggro tank signals a sweep, leave or hit Phase Shift and watch the show. If it looks like there'll be a mtio spawn, put yourself next to a stone pillar well in advance and get ready to Phase out. You'll want to activate Phase Shift a few seconds before you think the mitos will appear (keeping an eye on Request channel or Hami's health if you can see it will help.) When your mito shows up, move to the other side of the pillar and then directly away from Hamidon and the mitos to a better hiding place. Wait for Phase Shift to recharge, rinse and reperat. If you time Phase Shift well, odds are good that you'll live while everyone else dies.
