BaBs is probably muzzled from saying anything it about this until Posi has.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not going to comment on it for two reasons.

One, it's way outside of my department. I wasn't involved in the decisions and know absolutely nothing about what was done to who or why (outside of very broad generalities that everyone is already aware of).

Two, it's entirely a customer service issue. It's against the forum rules to discuss customer service issues here on the forums. And whether anyone wants to believe it or not, I'm just as beholden to the rules of these forums as the rest of you.

I was perusing this thread, saw reference to 'Man of La Mancha'--a play that my wife did props for in college--and pointed out that the Golden Helmet of Mambrino was actually a shaving basin.

I probably should have paid more attention to the original topic of the thread and the unintended attention that having a link to an OT post in the Dev Digest would bring to it, and for that I apologize.

    [/ QUOTE ]

First of all, "Man of La Mancha" would be a interesting play to do props for and its neat that your wife did that.

secondly, don't apologize for posting in this thread. Like I said, posting off topic in a thread does a lot to let us know that you guys still pay some kind of attention to the fact that we are here and still want to engage us on a level beyond just devs to players. It brings you in as a part of the community rather than seperate from the community and in my opinion, it makes it far more enjoyable to be here.

BAB, it's always been a pleasure seeing you post not only on dev-related topics, but also fun, non-dev-related topics. Hope to see you around the forums a bit more for fun stuff like the old days. Plus, you know what they say about all work and no play...

I just realized that I should probably start fasting now to help counteract all the feasting that's going to be going on while he's in town.

He took my new diet as a personal threat. I swear, we were on the phone talking about reducing calories and suddenly all i hear is growling and "my sammich", "you can't have it!". It took me a while to get him to calm down

    [/ QUOTE ]

Silly Simi...don't you know that when Peep is on a diet, that means more sammiches for you?

and no i was not removed from there. I resigned.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a shame that that wasn't clarified awhile ago, there's been a lot of speculation on what actually happened and I know several people who were on the fence and whose decision to leave the game was swayed because they were under the impression that you were forcefully removed from PERC.

    Meh.

BaBs has always been funny and fairly open with the community and Justice community in particular.

I have no problem with him posting in here as a joke or in a serious matter. But I don't expect him to comment about work stuff too far afield from art and animations.

It's not his style nor should it be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ditto.

Additionally, I'd like to add that I don't see his post as intending to detract from the issue at hand, but to inject a little humor in an existing joke tangent. Such tangents are no different from any other Justice thread or poster actions and to view his post as some sort of slight is reading a bit much into things.

First, it was my understanding that PERC was a player-run organization that got some limited support from the developers. If the developers or customer service removed you from a player-run organization, I'd say that obviously oversteps the bounds of their authority. However, once you ask for (and receive) support from the developers, the organization, unfortunately becomes somewhat of a public face for them, whether players and forum posteres view it as such or not. If the organization is ultimately run by NCSoft in some fashion (and supported by volunteer players) then they are within their rights to remove someone from that organization. I won't comment on whether it's right or wrong that they did so in your situtation (or any other), as I don't know the specifics... but if it is their organization, it's their right, not yours.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Based on all of the information regarding PERC since the time it was created, it's always been my understanding that PERC was a player-run organization (run by players for players) that received limited support and sponsorship from NCSoft/Paragon Studios.

EDIT - Philly scooped me...curse my D&D game distracting me from posting faster!
  12. Again, it's only because I have a good feel on those people who have RSVPed thus far. I just don't see any of those individuals pulling such a stunt...I've met them, don't see such actions in their nature and trust them. I can't speak for anyone who hasn't RSVPed yet, but as I said above, I won't tolerate such nonsense during something that's intended to be a fun event for the local Justice folks.

Hey Mod8, if you or any of the other folks at Paragon Studios are available that day and can make the trip, y'all are more than welcome to join us for a little Murder Burger action!

    [/ QUOTE ]

As long as players don't use this as a time to ambush them on current in-game events, I think you might get some takers. Were I one of the Dev team, I think I'd have to decline just on the possibility of such an ambush.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Considering the players that have said they will be attending thus far and knowing their respect for the developers' privacy on such matters, I think the likelihood of such an ambush is pretty low. If anyone that is thinking about attending that hasn't RVSPed yet plans on doing such a thing, please don't come. If someone does come and pulls such a stunt, I'll have to ask you to leave. This is intended to be a get-together for local Justice players to catch up with one another, not an opportunity to try to get the attention of any Paragon Studios employees who happen to be Justice players and may potentially attend so you can debate with them on game or development politics. I don't want any attendee to be put into an uncomfortable position and will have *zero* tolerance on such crap.

I think he has an awesome name! Especially the first name! My opinion has NOTHING to do with the fact that I share that first name. Honest! No really... Seriously. (Is anyone buying this?)

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's a good first name...my friends had their first child a couple months ago and is named James (near the end of her pregnancy, they kept joking that they were going to name him James Tiberius).
  20. Out of concern for our community, I was very frustrated, upset and disappointed when I heard what happened and saw how things were handled...still disappointed, but much of my initial frustration and anger have subsided. But I've already passed along my opinions to our community reps and have pretty much said my peace on the matter. I did want to mention though that when I had a chance to cool down and reflect upon things, many of the thoughts and theories on what might be going on behind the scenes that were expressed by RG and TJ in their lengthy posts did cross my mind.

Welcome to the world James and a huge congratulations to Noodle and Richie!
  22. I feel that anything that is conducive to the group getting caught up and/or getting to know one another would be preferable. Movies can be good fun, but rank low on my list for group activities since the group just sits speechless for a couple hours. Not good for getting-to-know you kinds of things. There's always the MU games area with arcade games and bowling. Or we could do what we did after Korean BBQ during the '07 M&G and stop in at a coffee shop for chatting and coffee consumption.
  23. Hau`oli la hanau Gunn! Hope you have a fantastic birthday!!

Didn't they just kind of talk about maybe banning some of the most egregious farmers and haven't even done that yet? Honestly this whole things seems like another tempest in a teapot that's all this forum maybe ever has been good for. If that's all it takes to get you to leave then it seems more like you would find some other reason to leave soon anyway.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, it wasn't just kind of talk...people don't typically leave over just talk. You can find a good summary on what happened here.

While I will miss those leaving and hope they will return sometime in the future, I certainly respect the reasons for their decision to leave.
