  1. I have a WP/FM tank which I really do enjoy. He can do main tank duties as necessary and has a decent amount of dps; he's good with soloing as well. For the dark melee set, I might suggest slotting a to hit debuff IO in each of your melee slots which can use it; this should assist in damage mitigation, imo of course. The other reason I suggest this is your biggest downside will be the lack of a self-heal; which is why the to hit debuffs will be useful. I know the attack with the self heal is not really worth it but this is just my personal experience with it. I am currently debating taking tough and weave to help add a bit of added def/res to my build, as well as, taking hasten to boost my attack rate up. I wish I could pull up the dark melee powerset right now but currently I'm at work, heh..shhhh. Hope this helped some.
  2. Bill Z Bubba is right; if you plan on soloing only the scrap build would be the viable option. If you want to hold aggro and lead/care for your team, then the tank build is the way to go. A scrap's defense will never compare to the tank's, as a tank's damage output will never compare to the scrap's.
