    Refreshing Buffs

I thought of something else as well while playing the same character.

If we had an easier way of watching our buffs without having to have the whole team buffs UI out covering half the screen, as well as maybe a timer showing exactly how long they have left on them instead of only alerting you when they're almost gone, it would be really helpful as well.

I don't really know where to post this as it's more of a suggestion than a question I guess.

I've been playing my thermal defender a lot lately so I've been noticing this quite a bit. Basically my problem is that when you cast a buff on a player that already has one from you, it will not do anything. The buff will still expire after the allotted time from the original cast and your energy will be wasted. Don't get me wrong, I love love love the AoE effects for shields now, it's just a huge quality of life improvement. I feel we can do even better though.

Right now if I hit a couple people with my shields, and someone enters the mission a minute or two later and I hit them, even if the original targets are still in range, the shields will wear off at different times. Then my choices are re-shielding the original targets, continuing the out of sync times, or wait until everyone's shields run out and hope I can get them all at once.

The shields aren't even that much of a problem though as they can be recast pretty much instantly. Something like Forge (Or Fortitude... etc.) with a bit longer cooldown is much more frustrating. If I'm on a small team, or really want to only give it to a couple specific people, I have to wait until it wears off or it's wasted and I have to wait it's entire cooldown before I can use it again. Also likely to happen is that it will wear off of at least someone in that time and thus, however little, team performance is lessened for the moment.

I would really, really, really like it if buffs would overwrite same-buffs already on a target that you yourself have put on them. The system as it is now is a bit archaic to say the least, no offense meant to the wonderful designers and programmers who make this great game, but I feel this change as small as it is would be another step on the QoL ladder.

Another smaller request would be to increase the AoE on shields (And other similar newly-AoE buffs). 30m really isn't that big, and I've really been noticing that, too, when my team is fighting in a small-ish room and I shield the guy in the middle and still miss some people who really didn't seem that far away. Anyway, this is even less of a problem (Due to shields being near instant re-castable as mentioned), but it would still be another improvement of convenience and general quality of life for those of us with shields.

    Thank you.

Thanks, I'll do that. Didn't see it though. What forum is it under?

You keep claiming I'm freaking out, as if totally oblivious to my continued insistence that I actually enjoy this. Very much, in fact. To be honest, it feels like you look at my post, go "Hmm... Text..." and then respond off-the-cuffs. While I can certainly see this as common practice, both on this forum and on the Internet in general, giving me this impression does noting for your credibility, for as far as my opinion matters, at any rate.

As far as "Stop it." goes, I'm debating a response to this. I'm inclined to go with "Make me!" on account of the fact that I am, last I checked the rules, well within my rights to do what I'm doing, as well as on account of the fact it's neither your place nor your business to try and tell me what I should be posting and where. However, I'm concerned that this is a carefully-laid trap, be it intentional or otherwise, to turn it on me and accuse me of freaking out, because it's so inconceivable that someone might take slight at that.

So here's what I will go with: No, I will not stop it. I enjoy this, and if you have a problem with it, follow the proper channels and either ignore me or report me. But please, don't try to assume authority that isn't yours by trying to play moderator. Unless I lost my colour perception somewhere within the last hour, your name does not appear in red letters.
"You keep claiming I'm freaking out." Really? I said it once. Then I said you were posting multiple paragraphs about nothing. I didn't repeat myself. Did you take it that way? Not everything has to be read into. All I said was just an observation. I barely say anything and you expand upon it tenfold. That just seems to be what you do.

Again you center on what I said once, but not twice. Do you want me to say you're freaking out? Are you freaking out? Is this freaking you out? You can do whatever you want. If anything, though, it seems like carefully-worded, elaborate spam, be it intentional or otherwise.

What is enjoyable about it, if I may ask? What makes making such long, drawn-out replies to things that are just not important or meaningful at all? I barely posted a couple of sentences and yet I could expect a novella or a rough draft for your dissertation in reply when there was really no way or reason for that much to be said. Discussion and even argument or debate can be enjoyable, I get that. But you have to realize that what this started as (The original topics), and what it has become, has been completely inane and pointless. Sure, you don't find it so, but that's what I'm having trouble understanding, I suppose. If anything, you're an odd duck however you look at it.

I noticed that pretty easily. In fact, that's the reason the post was pointed out to myself and others. He was seen as an object of humor that he would take himself this seriously over things completely non-serious. I can respect a long meaningful reply when it's to something... well, meaningful. This wasn't.

And then you go and write up three more paragraphs over nothing just like I said you'd been doing.

    Stop it.

I'd say the reason everyone's coming down on you is because you're freaking out about little arbitrary things and feel necessary to write several paragraphs each post as to why.

It all seems kind of irrational. Stop freakin' out. (Don't argue you're not, you totally are. Or at least were.)
  9. Alright, thanks guys. That's what I was afraid of! I guess the guide I was looking at was either wrong or outdated.

I've been checking the prices of the purple sets, but even at 75-100 million~ a piece it's a little rich for my blood at the moment. (All of the above cost maybe 200m, and I've got about 300m left, but I don't think I'd be able to get 5 pieces of one purple set yet, but it's something to work towards.
  10. Alright, so not long ago I started to IO out my dominator. I was told that IO set bonuses would stack up to 5 times. Not a problem. This is what my sets look like as of right now:

Adding all the set bonuses up, I should have 58.75% increased Recharge. The power attributes panel is only putting me at 40%, though. That looks like 3 sets getting cut off, even though only two of them I have multiples of. Do the set bonuses stack only 5 times even if they're not from the same set but give the same bonus? (i.e. the 6.25% "Large" recharge)

Would I have to stack Large, Medium, and Small bonuses then?

Where did I mess up? Or does the game just not like me?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Get out of my head you well-timed monster!

Seriously though guys, this would be wonderful.
  12. Would be nice if they fixed it, or at least let us know someone's working on it. Guess I won't be playing tonight.
