This is why I play mostly on Freedumb...
Then again, Con is full of it...
I'm kind of split over this thread...
I think I support both sides. I'm Anti-Stupid but also Anti-Con. -
Did you know...
That this thread is TL;DR... (only made it to page 40 out of 68)
...and also that shortly after arena went live there was a certain taunt bug? Yes I'm refering to the infamous Perma-Taunt bug where in which if a person was taunted during a match they were permanently taunted by that person for the rest of the match. This bug led to much griefing, and an subsequent taboo of taunt in PvP. I, among others, had much fun with it.
There was no faster, easier, way to piss someone off in a PvP match than perma-taunting them. Perma-taunting was essentially a mortal insult.
Leading to the insult... "I perma-taunted your mom in RL"
...also that pre-ED my hamioed Mace/Invuln tank could, and did win 15+ rated pvp matches... (In other words... Hamios were broken as hell pre-ED)
I love this thread... sticky it. -
As crappy as this is, I just can't bring my self to feel like the Devs should go all out on this. Theres gonna be holes in every system. People are smart they will always find them.
Base camping is going to exist for ever and ever, as long as there are bases. Whinning about it here really doesn't do any good. There are plenty of things you can do in almost every situation. Inspirations, Temp Powers, and Teaming all can counteract just about anything they can do to ya. Superior tactics should win you every battle. They are using better tactics that you are plain and simple. -
I must have mooooorree...mmmoooooorrreee...info.

I guess my argument would be...
Fix the other stuff first. Making Regen better in anyway, even a way they have a right too, would be last on my list of things to do. I would also say that maybe overall balance might not apply to your arguments because you also advocate buffing everything that is substandard too, but also understand that overall balance would be how you determine what powerset/power needed buffing first.
My point is... There are some issues thats are so miniscule from a overall balance perspective that they are essentially non-issue when you factor in their position on the list of things to fix. -
I was gonna say this guy named Ramses.... Anyway....
Anyone remember Moles? Moles laugh a AV exp. -
Meh, after reading Castle's statement...
My mind is changed... AI is just off...
How can we test this though? Will the devs tell us how the AI is suppose to be with enough exactitude that we can make a comparison? What is the exact trigger for running for a mob at each increase of lvl and mob size?
Hard to test something if you can't compare it to something else. -

I've found that once a certain portion of a mob is down a NPC runs. This also happens if the overall HP of a mob is low.
I'm betting they changed the AI and didn't tell us. Probably so that we wouldn't affect their experiment. Essentially is a double blind experiment, since we dont know, and they gather their data through datamining.
IF this is the case? Meh who cares, its annoying sure but i've been saved several times because an NPC ran instead of attacking me when I was close to death.

That's not a double-blind experiment at all. That's a single-blind. Because the people conducting the study knew exactly what was going on.

Of course they knew... If they didn't how could they conduct the experiment?
To blind a subject you simply don't inform him of the experiment.
To blind a experimenter you randomize their data collection. You make it anonymous so that when the Dev looks at the data he doesn't see names, he sees numbers...
Meh, High School Biology FTW...
All in all, I wouldn't put it past them but maybe I am giving them too much credit. Still think its a deliberate change though...>.< -

I once found something easter-like, was a box with something written on it in the Abandoned Sewers water. You had to zoom in and then look under and up, right into the water. I tried taking pics at the time but nothing ever came out and then i lost them on top of it. Was extremely blurry. I'll try to find it again and get a pic.
