BTW DJedi, I was telling my wife how good your stuff was with 3D art. She was very impressed. Great info, I will try and put it to work on my next four pieces I have to do.

You guys are the awesome. I figure if I can get that final piece right....then life will be good.

For you guys that actually know what you are doing.

Question 1:

When you guys fill with color. Assuming you have selected an area to fill (whether sep layer or not) Do you use a gradient to get the shine you require or do you try to brush a lighter color (or overlay) and smudge or blur in your own shine.

Some seem almost perfect in their highlighted and shadowed areas which produce the 3D effect.....which makes me think you have a much more robust gradient fill tool then I do. Some highlights seem to form to the actual shape as if the gradient tool understood the shape.


Question 2:

When I do lines hand drawn they are straight and look like lines should. When I darken them in using my WACOM I can use the brush tool or pencil tool in black and vary the thinkness. These lines seem to come out much more wobbly then when I draw or ink normally.

Do some of you use some sort of tool (which I cant seem to find) where you click points along your original pencil lines.........then it forms the perfect darkened line as if you had the steadiest hand in the world? I know paint on edges can sort of give this effect but not like a tool that I could click along the area that I wanted a line.

Nicely done, my only peeve is the bent arm could've been more 3D with light shown coming brighter on top or bottom, having the middle of the forearm the darkest black along say the bone, and the opposite highlight, showing less reflective light, but there to give a more cylindrical feel to it.

No, not originally..... I looked at various drawings and drew then.......added some key pieces I couldnt replicate from my comic scanned....only drew a few bodyparts/weapons and of course shading, coloring---finishing effects.

I took a collection of bits a pieces of some of my old art, screenshots obvously....and some pred art from one of my comics.

I didnt have anything that I could pose using my poser...still waiting on my brother to bring that back.

I still owe everything to Lady J and teaching me how to use layers.

I did her eyes glowing at first actually, then thought it made her sterile and unpersonable. So I made them blue again to make her FEISTY and naughty............

[/ QUOTE ]It was more of a blue glow effect..........not blue hair.........though (dont tell my wife) I dig chicks with dark black hair with blue highlights in them. The shortness......Yeah I could of made it longer, didn't really catch it.
