    Fire/Dark Build

    I just hit 50 on my fire/dark corruptor. He has been a lot of fun to play, but I have not tried any incarnate content yet.

    Dark is a great secondary for soloing, because every single power personally benefits you, unlike some of the secondaries with shields or buffs that can only be cast on other players.

    Dark also has great survivability (which helps fire's lack of a defensive secondary effect). It has plenty of to hit debuffs, including an anchor aoe to hit debuff, an aoe heal that is also a to hit debuff, and a large aoe cone fear that also is a big aoe to hit debuff.

    You also get a single target hold, an aoe slowing patch that reduces resistance (amazing to pair with rain of fire and fire ball), an aoe rez that is also a great auto-hit aoe stun, and a perma pet with multiple to hit debuffs, the same aoe heal as you, a single target hold, a cone immobilize, and a very powerful to hit debuff aura. You also get a PBAOE aura that gives some defense and resistance, and also stealths you and nearby teammates (great for ghosting missions).

    As you can tell, I am a big fan of /dark (I also have 2 level 50 masterminds that are /dark).

    Fire is, well fire. It does a lot of damage and has great AOE.

    The only issue I had with him is that fire/dark is a pretty endurance heavy combination if you are leveling with, or sticking with, SO's. However, you can take mu mastery, dark mastery, power mastery, or electricity mastery for your ancillary/patron power pool, each of which has a power to restore endurance or reduce endurance cost.

    The following is the starting IO build that I am working on, which is relatively afforable and has soft-capped lethal and smashing defense, fairly strong energy defense, and not too bad defense in other areas. It does require you to go red side at some point to complete a story arc to unlock the patron power pools.

    If I like playing him a lot in incarnate content, I will upgrade some of the enhancements (like upgrading the Red Fortunes to Luck of the Draws, throwing some Luck of the Draw +recharge enhancements in a couple other slots that can take them, adding some uniques, etc.).

    I'm sure others will critique the build (or tear it to shreds), but it looks decent enough to me to start with. It is by no means min-maxed (some of the slotting is for the stats, not the set bonuses), but like I said, it is much cheaper than a lot of other builds that I have seen (and you can leave out the Positron's Blast sets if you want it to be even cheaper without losing survivability). The build shows standard IO's like for recharge reduction, etc., but SO's will work just fine.
