Anyway, some more pages - finally, and a couple more to come, possibly tomorrow

Check back tomorrow evening for another dose and another Hero joins the band... -
@Hatesman and anyone else having difficulties with PhotoBucket, I've wrapped all pages so far into a PDF file 3.09Mb and uploaded it to Hyperfileshare -
Download Band of Heroes Pages 1-11 in PDF
Can someone test and let me know its working OK - never used them before
Thanks
Edit: the download button is the [u]small blue button[u] with /\ pointing [u]upward[u] not the ones pointing downward - they link to advertised stuff
You'll get to the download by clicking once, then again on the page that follows.
ridiculous I know. If anyone has any suggestions for filehosting PM me sometime. Thx.

Xmas parties have started early this year
Lost a couple of evenings here and there so I'll try and make up for delays with the next few pages - but no promises lol!
Anyway, a little more story for now...

Very nice...especially like the colouring on that one, nice style that adds to the drama. Keep up the good work.

I don't suppose you (or anyone here) could use ImageShack.us to upload these pages again? PhotoBucket downloads so slowly on my computer that I'll never be able to see these. I don't know what's up with PB, but I know some peoples work administrators block it outright too.

Thanks for letting me know Hatesman - I wasn't aware of the problem, although to be fair the pics are just over a meg each so it might just be that its because the images are so big. Seems to load OK for me tho.
I'll see about an Imageshack link if I get a chance in between now and tomorrow night. I avoided using them because I couldn't work out how to post stuff without those damn adverts coming up alongside the images
When there are a few more pages to look at I'll put them up as a zip or PDF hopefully that should make life a bit easier. -
Glad you are enjoying it so far
Will be a day or 2 before the next page arrives - got too many things on the go as usual...but don't worry, definitely more coming
-
Sorry for the delay - got in late last night (Friday night drinks
) ..and ill-advised fiddling in photoshop while under the influence created some complications
Anyway, two more pages here.
.........................Page 6
.........................Page 7
I'm still playing around a bit with the look ...oh and the sound FX thing ...what can I say, at least its 'kinda' authenticly retro (albeit cheesy)
More to come later in the week. -
Thanks again folks - nice to know you're enjoying it so far.
@ Starjewel, I will PM you when I get home with some things you could try, otherwise I'd fill this thread with all the different tweaks and adjustments I use for different things. Suffice to say for now, Photoshop (or even Paintshop) is your friend.
I've got some fixing-up and postwork to do on the next page soon as I get in tonight - time permitting there may be more very late tonight or early tomorrow. -
Thanks for the encouragement guys, much appreciated

Band Of Heroes ....Front cover

more pages as I get them done over the next few days.
Hope you like -
Well, who would of thought that a few pics and some words to go with them could prove to be such an involving task? Lol!
I suppose it doesn't help if you are easily distracted by other ideas and projects like me
...Anyway, after much delay (and RL getting in the way) I've finally patched together some drawings for the first page or so of London Ranger's comic.
Still need a bit of touching up, but once I get them into a less rough-looking state I'll post them, probably over the next few days.
In the meantime, here's the cover pic to whet your appetite.

Oops! Biggish pic so might take a few secs to load -

next one. obviously i'm well behind in numbers. better start colouring in more...

Great work!! ...and I'm sure any pre-colour sketches you wanna post would be just as valid as far as I'm concerned - keep it up -
Great stuff there VG!
First time I've come across your stuff and I like it (just went for a peak at the previous issues on your web-page) - I see you're using CBC software aswell, which is what I'm using to put my little CoH comic book together.
I especially like the way you've framed your pics in the story, really well composed
Looking forward to the next one. -
-
Been a while since I added another pic, been a bit busy with other things and still working on first couple pages of the comic (yes -its still coming, albeit slowly. Real Life can be a bugger!)
So anyway, here's one of our SG's 'trollers, JaqDaw, snooping around Indy Port -

Would 50,000 words of short stories count? Maybe 10,000ish words per story, all with a similar theme and setting?
[/ QUOTE ]
An anthology of sorts? Not sure if that's against the rules or not.

This :Link: kind of gives the impression its not a big issue.
After all, its not like there's a million pound prize or anything. But it is a good excuse to do something with all those ideas you've been storing up but never got round to starting off -
Magic stuff there - really like the Gamma-isotope thing in the box. cool idea
-
Cheers mate!
Yeah shoop da whoop...I know what you mean.
Its a side effect of using that 'painted' style of render, doesn't work well on special fx.
I loved the original JLA intro. I was disappointed with the 'Rock guitar' version when it became JLA unlimited. -
Thanks Bushbaby.
Absolutely agree - waiting for renders to complete is a drag. A lucky consequence of using the Sketch render rather than the full 'Firefly' setting meant that it actually rendered a little faster.
Still took blooming ages though -
Thanks Gungner. I'll hopefully be adding more later in the week.
If all goes well I'll also be posting a comic with some of these guys in it - but thats still a work in progress at the moment.
Stay tooned -
Finally finished up my CGI mini-animation.
I've always loved the idea of heroes teaming up to fight threats too great to tackle alone...
Kind of an homage to comic book & TV super-teams, this features some of mine & friend's toons 're-done' in CGI.
Even a clip this brief still needed to be rendered as several seperate sequences, each of those sequences taking anything from 45 mins to 2 hours to animate (routinely at the end of which you find something hasn't come out right and needs re-doingGrrr!).
Anyway, once the sequences were done I stitched them together in Premiere Elements and added some music.
The animation isn't perfect, and there are a few wonky bits here and there (quite literally!), but the rough, painted look is deliberate (honest!).
Unfortunately because I've had to reduce the clip's resolution in order to get the file small enough to be hosted it just comes across as rough!
The original is 800x600 and I may end up sticking it on my own site if I ever get around to making one, as its a bit nicer to look at.
For anyone thats interested, the anim was done solely and entirely in Poser, and using one of the Sketch render settings.
Link:Some toons showing off, yesterday.
Hope you enjoy -
Well here are some more pics I started during the summer and finally got into a state I'm happy with.
I've been experimenting with a couple of different styles while I'm figuring out what look to give the CoH comic I'm thinking of doing.
In the meantime here's BeoWolf
...and here's the first Empath I rolled way back in 2005 *looks wistfully skyward, daydreaming of pre i5 days*
