Allright, I found 'em in email "character items" thanks. I checked with other characters and they weren't there when I looked after unlocking the first superpack. Bug?

Help me out here then please. I'm not finding the other 115 cards they owe me.
  4. I just spent 1440 points on the 24 superpack. So far I've gotten 1 notification in email, unlocked it with the warning that it was good for that character only. Got 5 cards & unlocked the elemental chest & sleeves for all the characters on my account & 3 other mundane crap for the unlocking character.

Checked on my other characters and no access to any more superpacks.

Ok, either I'm not understanding this & thought I should be getting 23 more chances (having bought the 24 superpack) or that 1440 points only bought 1 chance at 5 random cards & can you say RIP OFF???
  5. Update,

The latest ATI driver I downloaded & installed is working super and I believe cured the memory problem I was experiencing. CoX is now smooth as silk at mostly the highest graphics levels and hasn't crashed in over four hours of playing and at times in crowded areas.

My mistake in not periodically keeping my drivers up to date was not getting the current versions from ATI but relying on Windows/Control Panel/System/Device Manager to automatically search for and update the display adapter driver.

    Thanks for all your help.
  6. Thanks for all your help.

I downloaded & installed the latest drivers for my video card from ATI. Going to find out now if that cures my memory problem with CoX.

Beyond that, kill anything you don't need while playing the game.
I've never messed with my virtual memory, don't know how.

  9. Thanks Archiviste, I'll do that.

Game just crashed on me again. Here's the message i got,

    ./piggs/texWorldCZ.pigg: Failed memory allocation (zip'd size 1115752, unzip'd size 1398492)
    Read failed for file: texture_library/WORLD/city_zones/Rikti_crash/Crash_Gouge/Tank_DirtDecal.texture
    -1

The game ran out of memory and must now exit.

The NCsoft launcher was already set to,
    After launching a game:
    Exit Launcher

The launcher was shutting itself down after game launch so that wasn't causing my memory problem with CoX.

My next option I guess is to run Cox using a CoH updater bypass to launch it. The bypass launches fine, but doesn't check for updates.
  11. The game crashed on me & I received a message to the effect, "City of Heroes will now close, due to lack of memory."

I'm running a quad core 2.6mhz system, 6gigs ram, 3+gigs video ram with 680+ gigs of free space on my hard drive with Vista. I'm also using DirectX 11.

Over the past couple of months I've been noticing a drop in performance the longer I stay in after logging into CoX. When I first log in the game runs very smoothly but as time passes in each game session the frame refresh rate degrades rapidly & is very choppy, especially in outdoor zones with lots of players. I can temporarily cure this by logging out & restarting the game but it's a pain to have to do this every couple of hours.
  12. This game used to provide automatic mouseover info on vendor sold enhancements, now it doesn't work for me. It's irritating to have to constantly right click for info while buying those especially with all the obscure names for dual origin & single origin types.

Bear in mind the mouseover info does work for me with the enhancements in my inventory & in my enhancement management window. The mouseover info does appear on any recipes I have for sale in the vendor window while none appears when hovering over vendor enhancements listed.

I repeat...It's irritating to have to constantly right click for info while buying those especially with all the obscure names for dual origin & single origin types.

And before any of helpful players sound off about enabling tooltips I've been down that road with a GM, my tooltips were already enabled thank you very much.

GM reply "There is no built in functionality for viewing an items stats at the vendor. You have to use the Info method. There is no settings in Options to change this."

Besides, this is directed at game devs, not you helpful players.

I repeat...It's irritating to have to constantly right click for info while buying those especially with all the obscure names for dual origin & single origin types.
  13. From 9-22-11 patch notes,

    "Character Transfer
Characters with an apostrophe in their name will not be able to transfer to another shard."

    Why?

Why the restriction on names containing an apostrophe?

Is this a bug or an official policy?

So if I want to transfer a toon with an apostrophe in the name I have to pay for a rename token first?

If it's a bug please get it fixed ASAP because I'm intending to transfer a couple of toons with names that do contain apostrophes.

If it's an official policy I think it's total Bull Crap and another way to milk money from the player base.
