  1. From everything that has been inplicated by both the Coralax and the BotBS, they seem to be villains. But as I said that's no more than speculation.

i agree, before the well neither states nor rec was a hero in any sorts. they were gang members if i remember right. states learned the error of his ways and rec became more embittered.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is indeed correct. In the books, they both are criminals...recluse just decides afterwards to send the world toward a "technocracy" and states decided to avenge his brother's death to Nemesis.
  2. The only problem with this idea is that neither Statesman, nor Recluse belonged to a specific AT before they received their powers. They were both changed during their expedition to the Well of Furies. Some will argue that the change occured because of the water, while others will argue for the Box hypothesis (I believe both are discussed earlier in this thread). Either way, whatever happens with the Incarnate EAT, it will be a unique build that will also have unique game-play and will follow a story built for the EAT itself.

Whether they have incarnates or not, I kinda think that LR and States should be their own thing, ya know, superior and stuff.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That's why I'm against the logic of "oh we're gonna be able to combine power sets like States and LR." For one, it wouldn't be an Epic Archetype. I'd rather much see a new myth or lore spawned by the Incarnates story (which we know nothing about) and have the Epic Archetype revolve around that instead of getting the same sets and adding an "Incarnates" set that people might be assuming will happend, like APPs (well, exactly like APPs.)

As an artist, I do believe in something more creative than SS or Mastermind + Incarnate.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I will guarantee that the story will revolve around Greek mythology. Beyond that...nothing more than speculation.

I'm looking forward to the Avilans! Maybe that means that somewhere along the lines they might add ATs for the other travel powers. Teleporting and super speed could be some awesome combat. Just a thought.

[/ QUOTE ] Avilians are scrapped. Instead we'r gettinf WINGS for every AT in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That's not a very good assumption. Mainly because wings are different from an Epic Archetype. Also, there hasn't been any announcements regaurding the Avilans' cancellation. Unless the devs says so, it's not true - just a reminder for everyone.

Another thing to ponder upon is that everyone thinks the Avilans were cancelled just because the wings are coming. Well, hasn't anyone ever taken into consideration that the reason the devs are giving everyone wings is because they don't want wings to be limited to an EAT (so people won't complain "why do I have to be an Avilan?!#$!")?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Exactly.

And as for the Inventions system, it is no longer on the back-burner. _Castle_ is currently spending most of his day working on it (and as a side note, he mainly works with powers so it can be safely assumed that we will be "inventing" temp powers). Once again, the link for those that still question me.

  10. Guide Update 09/11/06

Kheldian Archetype: read nofuture's story arc, The Kheldian War
    new powersets coming- Nictus

Incarnates: After drinking from the Fountain of Zeus in the Well of Furies in the late 30s, Marcus Cole and Stefan Richter were granted amazing abilities. Cole, a former theif, returned home and became the Statesman to avenge his brother's death to Nemesis. Meanwhile, Richter joined with the fledgling fascist group Arachnos and eventually became Lord Recluse.

This archetype currently does not exist ingame, however, is planned to make an entrance within the next year. No other information is known.

    Coralax: Slag Golems , Coralax-Hybrids
Also, read Coral Bonanza , the Cult of the Shaper , the Trail of the Leviathan ,and and Part 4 of this arc

Beyond this, very little is known, but much is speculated.

Speculation: Coral bodyparts that provide specific powers, Full-coral bodies that result in abilities, any combination thereof.

Blood of the Black Stream: An Egyptian shape-shifting cult that attempts to create a super computer using arcane means. For an example, go see the Oil Spill which looks like the Eye of Horus. For any more information, read The Book and the Burning .
  11. Wow, Ocean. Thanks for linking to that site...now it's easy to see the true concept for some of the costume pieces (plants, insectoid, etc). I really hope that guy isn't a fake...though I can easily believe that he is a designer. The Coralax-Hybrids are absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Too bad CoX's colors aren't that vivid...the ingame hybrids would look MUCH better.

BTW, there haven't been any Virtean Coralax-Hybrids have there?

  14. hmm...no ideas based off the Slag Golem backgrounder?

    What's wrong with you Ocean?
  15. i shudder when i think of the possibilities of complete choice for powers...game-breaking will not be tolerated...else i'll dig a hole in the ground with my plastic claws and bury my head........
  16. [ QUOTE ]

I believe that if they Incarnate is placed into the game it will allow the elite players who unlock the EAT to construct thier own specific, and completely customized archtype.

    Fiery Aura/Fire Blast anyone?

Talk about an invincible AoE Monster...or how about an Invuln/Fire blast....Dull Pain + MoG...

    how about not.

Just imagine the PvP imbalance...this just begs to be hit with a TITANIUM bat...not a nerf bat...a friggin Titanium bat.

    /flame

No offense, but that is a BAAAD idea...
  17. About the Incarnates, this is what I have come up with thus far,

So far, the only 3 Incarnates are from Greek legend, so it is safe to assume that all future Incarnates will be of the Greek Pantheon as well. It's also safe to assume that the choices for incarnates will be between the Titans, the Olympians and Chimeras (combos of 2 animals: nymphs, satyrs, centaurs and minotaurs).

Looking at the current templates for Incarnates, their powersets should be based on the god that they are the incarnate version of. From everything I've been able to find about Lord Recluse, it seems that his patron-god is Tartarus. If they are using the same parallel that Lord of the Rings uses, then it can be assumed that Tartarus is a spider-like diety. Statesman has the strength and powers of Zeus (SS/Invul and a Lightning attack). Stheno, as a Gorgon (sister to Medusa), has certain snake-like abilities while also having a formidable power over human minds. Each Incarnate class could be based on which AT the power-set is most like. For instance, Statesman has the build of a Tanker, Recluse has the build of a Mastermind, and Stheno (as well as all other Gorgons) has the build of a Dominator.

Which origin would these Incarnates be? Considering that Azuria has a jar full of the waters from the Well of Furies, it can be assumed that they would be of magical origin. Reading the comics, it can also be assumed that the Incarnate story arcs would somehow correlate the existing story and the Realm of the Gods (issues 1, 2 and 3 of the Top Cow volume).

Just my 2 cents...eventually, I'll get to the point where I can post my idea for the storylines in the suggestions forum.

    Moon Hazard Zone

In regards to this Moon Hazard/PVP zone, I have an idea for a "new" alien race, a new villain group and AV, and a new situational pet type. Let me know how it sounds.

Commonly known as the "Greys" this race has been based on the Moon for nearly 100 years. In the early 1950s, the US government made a treaty with them. The Greys had travelled to Earth many times in the past 10000 years, feeding the youthful human race certain tidbits of knowledge and assisting in the development of basic tools. They disappeared after 200 AD--not too long after the fall of the Roman empire and the beginning of the Dark Ages for Europe--only to return at the turn of the century in 1900. The new Greys began to experiment with the human race, seeing as we had not evolved much in the last 10000 years. Trying to usher in a new age of evolution, they began abducting people and using them in their experiments. Some of the first Supers were created in this method. This continued until the most well-known incident to conspiracy theorists--Roswell. After the Area 51/Roswell incident, the US government made a pact with the Greys. If they swore not to abduct random people anymore, the US would provide a list of coordinates for the decendents of ever Super. That way the purity of the human gene pool would remain, while the impurities of the Supers could possibly dilute or be exterminated. This was a time of great turmoil and strife for a Super. Even the great Statesman suffered in these times.

Another part of the treaty was to allow the Greys to set up a permanent base on the Moon. When the Fifth Column and the Council collided recently, the Fifth fled to Moonbase Luna, an abandoned US installation set to monitor and retaliate against the Greys should they ever choose to defy the treaty. They inhabited it and began to recruit some of the "failed" experiments of the Greys.

Then one day, one of the Greys' experiments escaped. Destroying half of the lab section in the process, this mysterious figure fled across the lunar surface. Recruiting heavily from other mutated humans trapped on the Moon, the Remnant was established. This group of Supers fought both the Greys and the Fifth for control over the resources of the Moon. Losing the battle they retreated into the caves, where they found Igneous. They have lived there ever since.

In the last couple of years, Recluse has discovered old plans from the Fifth Column that detail weapons that could annihilate key parts of the world, changing landscapes, causing disasters, overall adversely affecting the Earth. He has recently built a space station that orbits closely around the Moon and has called on his destined to take control of the doomsday weapons for him. A mole however, hopes to foil this plan and has alerted Statesman and the Freedom Phalanx of the danger. Thus there is now a Longbow space station orbiting the Moon as well.

When control of the doomsday devices rests in the hands of Arachnos, they are used as terrorizing weapons. And they awaken some of the most powerful beings that exist: the Elemental Spirits. These Spirits are similar to the nymphs, sprites, and other elementals of ancient mythology; Each class containing its own specific powers.

***Note: These spirits act as pets that can be found throughout the more natural areas of paragon (Perez Park, the northern walls of Talos, on the tops of some of the mountains, deep in the Troll infested tunnels of the Hollows, and the volcanic area around Striga). Each Spirit (and Spirit type) is only available while Arachnos holds the Doomsday devices. Pets are available for both sides, but villains can only get them through mayhem missions (where they enter Paragon).***
