With the blade twisting inside its chassis, it began to involuntarily jolt its arms as it continued its attempted to reactivate itself. Then Raishi kicked off the mech with a forceful thrust of her foot and the heavy mech fell to its back. It continued to spasm on ground the ground for a few moments before it went completely offline. It looks like we have a winner! Did you ever have a doubt for Raishi, ARC and Jase? Lets hear it for a most entertaining match! The crowd began to roar as the floor under the robot sank down to take the machine to get repaired for any future matches.
Nice fight guys, Jase commented, Although Im sure it could have gone smoother but we still finished, right? he grinned with a hand on his hip. He began to make his exit from the arena when he saw Ryjuta, Hyun-ki and Elaine waiting in his path. Hey guys, cool match, eh?
Ryjutas brown eyes were burning with anger, When did I ever tell you you could enter an exhibition match without my permission?
It was all Ians idea. Besides, I dont have to listen to an old b*st*rd like you. The only reason Im here is because Ian asked me to, Jase retorted
Well, where is he? Hyun-ki asked as he looked around the inside of the arena from the large doorway.
Oh yeah, he got smashed sometime in the middle of the match. Hes fine though, he should have been mediported.
Slightly relieved that Ian didnt get another match under his belt to feed his ego, Ryjuta looked down at his watch. Okay, another official match is opening up. Hyun-ki, Elaine. Youre going to be the two I enter. Ill go make sure Ian is okay.
Um....can Gazer go in my place? I really dont- Hyun-ki began but was met by a Ryjutas serious face, Fine... -
The moment Reishi pulled her sword from the mechs chest, four tendrils escaped the wound and shot past her then curved back to grab her from behind. It was prepared to fling her back but ARCs tactic seemed to be working. Sparks began to flow from its shoulder and arm joints as its energy cells began to malfunction. Reishi was able to strike at the machine unheeded by its armor or movements as it switched offline for a short moment which was all the time she needed. Her blade plunged deep into the mechas chest and an odd whirr or whine could be heard as it struggled to switch back online. All that was left was to finish it off.
-
When Reishis fist connected with the mechs armor, the powerful charge in the metal caused it to vibrate which dissipated the force of her blow throughout the air causing the air to distort. The mech staggered back a step, only a slight dent in its chest and prepared to release its charged repulsor blast. While Reishi had been attacking, ARC was circling mecha and siphoning the energy feeding its armor. Although not all at once, its powerful armor was beginning to weaken.
Jase quickly performed a series of hand signs to focus his chakra and ended in a cross with a pair of fingers from each hand, Double Team. His shadow began to wriggle a bit before stretching longways then rise from the floor. Its form began to solidify and morph into a mirror image of Jase himself. The shadow leapt up while Jase swiftly ran to one side of the giant robot and pulled out an exploding shuriken from his side.
The shadow Jase threw blades from both hands at the vulnerable parts of the charging repulsor cannons causing them to explode in a blast of force that had no effect on the mech. The real Jase threw a single exploding shuriken at the energy blaster in the arm but didnt manage to hit its mark. It exploded in an armored spot of the arm but didnt have any affect. Jase fell to a knee, dripping with sweat and his breath came a bit labored. The shadow of Jase vanished and returned to his feet. Luckily, he was a good distance away so the following energy blasts werent aimed at him. The mech desperately fired blasts of energy(the last weapon it was equipped with for the match) at Reishi and in ARCs path as its armor slowly weakened. -
The fist quickly retracted back into the arm after it was deflected back. In the same moment, it began firing energy blasts down at the female combatant with the other arm to defeat her. If she tried to rush in it would simply release the charged repulsion bombs to knock her back down.
Do you think thatll work? I mean, the thing might shoot at you and trip you up, Jase replied to ARC. It looks like its just you and me in this plan but I wont be able to do much to its armor. I do have a few incendiary shuriken but those probably wont do much either. A trickle of sweat dripped from his face and off of his chin. Already, fatigue was setting in for him and he only had a few more attacks left before he would have to pull out his more dangerous life threatening tricks. -
This time, as Reishi stopped the punch the mech continued the attack by launching the fist from its wrist as if it was severed but a thick robotic tentacle kept it attached. It was like a double punch and she only stopped the first. The heavy mech fist would forced her to violently slam into one of the metal walls with a loud clank if she couldn't stop it again.
While Reishi and ARC were arguing, Jase took advantage of the mechas occupied attention and appeared behind it. He threw a single kunai knife that easily destroyed the transmitter before it could disappear under the armor again. Now the mech could no longer repair itself so it activated another one of its defenses. The mech began to hum as its thick armor became charged with energy which would allow it to repel even more powerful attacks.
Before the mech started to unloading energy and repulsion blasts at Rei and ARC, the shadows under them grew darker and thicker then they were engulfed in them. They emerged a good distance away from the giant robot, it still blasting away at nothing. You guys are the epitome of teamwork, Jase commented sarcastically. Anyway, I dont think it will be repairing itself anymore so now we just have to finish it off. If anyone wants to...I don't know...approach this with a bit of style speak now or forever hold your peace as we blindly charge in. -
Jase watched from a distance near Quixotica as the other two preparing to attack. His mind reached out to Reishis to predict her next move. He examined ARCs quick movements and predicted what would happen next. Unji! Jase shouted as he drew his Unji blade, which was the faster and most accurate of the two, and threw it.
ARC had leapt and struck at the transmitter on the chest, promptly destroying it but doing little else to the surrounding armor as the energy just dissipated among the thick armor. As the jump bots fist connected, the metal tendrils from the neck quickly bound its legs together and wrapped around the punching arm. Chances are, the jump bot could easily escape if given the chance but Reishis blade was on a course to pierce the mech and ARC happened to be held in that path. Then, Unji came flying in to intercept the strike hitting with a bright flash of colliding metal. Jases Unji blade was indeed accurate but didnt have nearly enough power to knock the larger sword off course but instead of completely impaling the jump bot on its path to stabbing the mech, it severely grazed ARC slicing deep into its left arm.
Reishis blade continued on its course to stab the mech and piercing its armor. The repaired transmitter in the back peeped out from under its invulnerable armor and completed its repairs to its head, finally pulling it back between its armored shoulder but not before tossing its ineffective robot shield at Reishi. The mech then began unloading a barrage of energy bolts at ARC and Reishi. Jase melted back into the shadows, hoping he would draw little attention. -
((Okay, lets see what I can do here.))
While off balance, the mech began firing several missiles from a launcher in its arm. Although he didnt anticipate this attack, Jase took advantage of it the moment he saw the launcher reveal itself. With the few exploding shuriken he had, Jase aimed right at one of the missiles before it could launch causing it to blow up the rest along with a large chunk of the arm. The mech staggered a few steps back and the transmitter in its back sent out a signal to the damaged parts of the hand and arm. Slowly, the arm began to reform on the ground and the whole time the transmitter was vulnerable.
With the only arm it had left, it tried to crush the nearest target; Reishi. With a heavy fist, it lunged down to crush the female swordsman but its blow was easily thwarted by her immense strength. Without a moments pause, a pair of cannon looking weapons protruded from its shoulders and fired disorienting repulsion bombs at Reishi. The bombs didnt hit her but the ground on both sides of her. Before she could recover from the punch or retrieve her sword, a powerful torrent of force erupted from the orbs as they made contact with the metal floor that propelled her back into one of the walls.
This is when ARC began its taunting and drew the mechs attention. ARC managed to get behind it and fire at the robot from behind. The blast from the grenade damaged the little transmitter that was blinking in the back which caused repair of the arm to stop. The arm was still on the ground and was almost back into one piece but still needed a bit more time. This is when the transmitter in the chest revealed itself and completed fixing the arm and started on the damage of the other transmitter.
The purple mech quickly spun its repulsion bomb cannons to its rear and fired a spray of smaller orbs that erupted in a wide area but with less force to slow down the speedy bot then charged the cannons and fired two larger balls of force that exploded into a huge bubble that even caused the hulking robot to take a step back as the blast nearly reach its chest. Now that ARC was off his feet, he unloaded a flurry of energy blasts at the jump bot.
While the mech was preoccupied, Ian stepped up to the fallen arm that had completed its repairs. Metal tentacles began to stretch out to reattach its arm but Ian had another idea. Hey, Barney Bot! You forgot something. STING OF THE WASP TO SOARING DRAGON! He made an upward strike at the downed fist with a pummeling strike, Sky Dragon Attack! Ian said with a smile, pleased with the results of that technique. The combination technique created enough force to send the own mechs fist flying at its head. It turned its head in time to see the fist coming and tried to quickly connect with its metal tendrils but was too late. The armored fist knocked the head up and off like a Rockem Sockem robot game. It still managed to reattach its arm though but now it had to reattach its head.
When it turned, Ian saw the chest transmitter open for attack. That must mean the other one in its back was damaged. This is my chance! Ian began swiftly charging in to get the mech while it couldnt see and strike the transmitter. He leapt from a stone pillar and launched himself at the mechs chest to stop it from ever repairing itself again. Unfortunately, technology is not one of Ians strongest subjects. He knew most robots that were human in anatomy had its sensors in the head but that isnt always true. In this case, it wasnt true entirely.
The repairing tendrils had independent sensors and quickly shot from the neck to grab the teen. Slightly surprised, he managed a few aerial maneuver to evade from being caught. He grabbed one and was about to spring toward the chest again when the charged repulsor cannons aimed at him. He couldnt manage to evade the large blast while tangled in the tendrils. The blast sent him flying back into the rock column with a loud crack. Before he could slide down and fall to the ground, he vanished; mediported.
Jase had been trying to get a clear shot, knowing if he missed he would gain the attention of the mech but the mech was using its blaster arm to shield itself while it used its repulsor cannons. Damn! he shouted when Ian was beat. He needed someone to draw its attention otherwise hed use too much of his own energy on ineffective tricks to protect himself. He faded into the shadows and reappeared next to Quixotica. Hey, um....Exotica or whatever. Are you okay? Jase asked, pulling her upright against the wall and trying to shake her awake. -
((About that....are we waiting for me to post something? Cause I don't know what's suppose to go in an exhibition match
))
-
((Am I being ignored now? >.< I suppose I should be use to it...))
-
((So am I suppose to be the GM of the mech fight? I kind of let everyone be GM in the battle because I haven't won anything. I made the means of victory pretty clear too so teamwork will be required to defeat the mech.))
-
While the other three fighters were keeping the mech busy, Jase sank into the shadows once again, reappearing at Ians side. Hey, you gotta get up, he said as he leaned in a little closer and shook him by the shoulders.
Ian jolted awake and shook his shaggy head. Wha-what happened?
No time, we gotta keep on our toes or well lose the edge in this fight.
With a bit of a struggle, Ian got to his feet and dusted himself off. He looked around the stone column to see the rest of the combatants fighting the giant robot but it kept repairing itself. Apparently it wasnt trying to fight back at the moment. Ok, when it starts repairing again Ill try to keep it busy and you-
That wont work. It has two transmitters; one in the back and the other in its chest. If you destroy one of them the other will repair the whole mech and the damaged transmitter.
Okay, then Ill just destroy the one in the back and when you see the other one pop up take it out. Simple enough. Ian then charged the mech, his bokken in hand ready to pounce. When Ian was in range, the mech turned and took aim. GAMBLERS CUT! Ian split off in three directions, straight forward and both sides. After a second or two of observation, the mech could not figure out which to shoot at so started spraying energy blasts at all three. The Ian that went straight and the one on the right were hit but the shot passed right through them and they faded from view.
You need to check your aiming program, Ian laughed as he managed to pass under him. GAMBLERS CUT TO STING OF THE WASP! This time, he split into two and both struck at the left leg with mighty bludgeoning blows, Double Strike. The impact was great enough to knock the thick heavy leg up, forcing the mech to balance on one leg. On instinct, the person controlling the mech remotely began spraying missiles all over the arena as it tried to regain its balance. -
((Actually, Star-Gazer was in the room. He was the talking light watching the 1st match. I haven't responded in a while cause I haven't had much time lately.))
-
((No, what you did was fine. I just wanted to remind everyone. In the other RPs I've been in that had a mecha fight, all my melee characters have been as damaging as misquitos and those weren't even armored ones.
This is just my chance to get some revenge but revenge is more sweet when its something you gotta work for......I just made that up))
-
((Just as a reminder: This is an ARMORED mech suit with limited assault and maneuvering abilities. Don't downplay its thick armor *too* much because that, and its repair functions are its most powerful capabilities.))
-
"Another sword wielder! I guess she's already announced herself but let's hear it for Tenryuu Reishi!" The crowd began to cheer as her blade sliced through each arm.
Before the first arm even fell, the transmitter in the back peeped out for about 4 seconds and the repair function started before the second arm was cut. Soon both arms were being pulled back to their joints and sparks erupted from the metal as it was being quickly fixed.
((And like I said, you say how the robot is attacking you or whatever.)) -
"It looks like we have a surprised addition to this little match! Don't worry, it's not another mecha robot, it's Quixotica!! Will her energy engulfed touch be enough to turn the tide of this battle?" said the announcer as a door slid open to let in the new combatant.
-------------
The door to Ryjuta's meeting hall slowly opened, seemingly by itself. Inside was a glowing orb or a shimmering diamond of light hovering near a monitor that showed the ending of the first match.
"What is it you seek, mortal?" the light asked, its brightness pulsating with each syllable. -
The ninja stepped from behind his hiding place, ready to pull out as many tricks as he could. Alright metal pants! Lets dance! The mech turned and started walking toward him. SHURIKEN STRIKE! Jase began throwing wave after wave of blades at the armored mech but they all just bounced off, some being plunged into the walls and floor but the robot kept coming. Okay, UNJI! UNSHO! IMPALE! He drew the oversized kunai strapped to his back(he has to hold them in separate hands because of their size) and launched them at the mechs arms. The mech hesitated as the huge knives embedded themselves into the arm joints that connected with the shoulders. There were a few sparks but the machine was relatively unaffected.
Heh, how about this then? SHADOW THREAD! Jase opened his palms toward the hulking enemy and threads of pure darkness stretched from each of the dozens of shuriken that were embedded in the walls and floor and connected with the loops in his Unji and Unsho blade. It resembled a sort of web or net and as the robot moved closer, the threads became taut, forcing Unji and Unsho deeper into the robot. Realizing its predicament, the mech stopped moving and starting shooting energy blasts.
Behind you! Jase shouted as he rose from the shadows. The robot was firing at an image and it was too late to turn. Okay! One more time! More threads of shadow connected from the tips of his fingers to his Unji and Unsho blades, passing right through the mechs armor. With one mighty pull, his blades returned to him. His Unji blade simply created a hole in the shoulder as it passed but his Unsho blade took off its whole right arm.
The bot began its repair functions, revealing the transmitter in plain sight of Jase. He caught Unji and launched it right at the blue light. Without fail, it destroyed the transmitter and the repair of its arm stopped. Ha....not so....tough, he said between gasps. Wielding Unsho was draining him so he put it back on his back.
Thats a ninja for ya! Those guys can do anything, huh? Way to go Nightmare-Srike! the announcer cheered along with the crowd but suddenly the mechs repair functions restarted. Woops! I guess it had more than one transmitter! One in its lower back and another in its chest! Oh, and one transmitter can probably repair the other, guess its more complicated than we first thought!
Jase pulled his Unji blade back and put it on his back. He was unsure how he could manage to destroy this thing.
((And now anyone can jump in. It was mainly to show how defensive it is but it'll start firing missiles from its other arm and repulsion blasts from shoulder cannons which are like repulsion bombs(a not-very-damaging AoE knockback/disorient power for all those non-FF players) ))
-
As the two planned, the armor suit punched at the stone pillar they were hiding behind. Jase easily escaped by fading into shadow again but Ian barely managed to leap out of the path of flying debris. Jase tossed a handful of shuriken which spun and bounced off the thick armor of the robot which was mainly to get its attention while Ian got to his feet. Ian rolled to his feet and quickly ran behind another stone pillar. The robots left hand contorted and slid apart to reveal an energy blasting assault cannon. It quickly fired a volley of blasts at Jase, all of them hitting their mark but they just past through him; it was only an image to fool the robot, Jase had disappeared into the Shadow Place already.
Meanwhile, Ian was leaping up the mechs leg to get to the head. It tried to grab at him but Ian jumped from the chest plate and launched himself up to the head. Take this! he shouted with a powerful strike up that knocked the head back, damaging its neck. The mech tried to grab Ian again but Ian prepared to slice the hand off. He only managed to cut the armor plating a bit but it was only a distraction; metallic tentacles extended from the damaged area in the neck and wrapped around Ian when his back was turned. AH! I was careless! GAH! he shouted as the life was being squeezed from him. The transmitter in the robots lower back revealed itself to repair the mechs neck damage. Jase emerged from the shadows, prepared to strike at the transmitter. Ian! he shouted when he saw his partner captured. He forgot about attacking the transmitter and shadow skipped to the robots feet.
He threw a storm of blades up at the tendrils holding Ian, managing to cut him free. Ian fell and Jase was prepared to catch him but the mechs fist slammed into Ian as he dropped, sending him flying. Jase quickly ran after him, half catching and half breaking the fall and melted into the shadows again. Ian? Are you hurt? he asked after they emerged behind the farthest pillar. He leaned Ian against the stone but he was unconscious. Great....now I have to finish this bucket of bolts myself. -
The giant mech lifted a fist and brought it down with as much force that it was allowed ontop of Ian. Ian just smiled as the slab of metal neared. Ive been waiting for a chance like this, he said as he gripped his wooden sword in what looked like an iaijutsu. Combination technique: FLASHING STEEL TO STING OF THE WASP! The mech fist crashed into the ground causing the arena to rumble, seemingly pulverizing the young swordsman but with a flash of white streaking from his blade, he burst into an unearthly speed right through the mechs right armored leg. Brilliant Steel, he finished as he put the bokken back under his belt.
The mech began to turn but when it lifted its right leg its foot stayed planted on the ground. It let down its leg to finish the turn but was put off balance causing it to use a fist to keep itself from falling. Heh, match over, Ian mocked as he faced the disabled robot.
Wow! Did you see that, folks!? It may not seem like such a feat from the audience but that mech has some top of the line armor! He cut through it like a knife through butter.....literally! The announcer called out in his excited tone. Suddenly, a light on its lower back sparked to life. It was a small transmitter or beacon of somekind that was revealed from a thick plate of protective armor. And when I said top of the line, I meant Top of the Line! Metallic tendrils shot from the severed leg and pulled the foot back into place. In a matter of seconds, blue sparks were shooting from the damaged section and it was completely repaired. That blue beacon on its back is a transmitter that transmits damage and repair information to a super computer! It can also signal information to its severed parts! You wont be able to take it down that way Quick-Strike!
WHAT!? Ian shouted. The one time I can actually do something against one of these things and it has to be one that repairs itself!? The transmitter was only revealed for a few seconds at the start of the repair process then sank back into the robot with a thick plate of armor to protect it. Okay then, if thats how you want to do it.... Ian said as he drew his bokken once more. The mech swung its heavy arm along the ground at the teen who just waited for the attack.
The shadows under Ian became thicker and Jase quickly rose up from it. He grabbed Ian by the shoulders and they both sank into darkness just before the robot arm could hit. They appeared behind one of the large stone pillars around the arena, We have to use our heads if were going to beat this thing, he barked, So stop charging in like an idiot.
How was I suppose to know it could fix itself!?
Just figure something out so we can finish that thing off.
Me!? Why do I have to think of a plan? Ian protested but just began rubbing his bare chin to think of an attack tactic. Easy. I just attack it to damage it and when that transmitter thing pops up, you destroy it. -
Ian was still pacing about the meeting room, Jase casually sipping on a bottle of something that he refused to say what it contained. Ian began tapping his foot impatiently before he turned to the reclining ninja, Lets have a match! You and me!
Jase took another small sip before eyeing the eager swordsman. You? Fight me? Heh, I dont think the old [censored] would approve, he replied with a smile. But we can still have a private match, one on one. Itll be our little secret. Jase was probably talking about something other than fighting but Ian didnt react to that.
No, I mean we can fight side by side against someone. Its been a while since we battled together. How about it?
Can you even *do* that? I thought the old [censored] had to set up the matches for us, Jase cried as he capped the bottle.
Come on, we can still do exhibition matches. We can just say master Ryjuta did set the match. Not long after, Jase and Ian were standing in a circular arena, slightly smaller than the main one but still pretty big. The floors were all metal and there were about six pillars of stone placed equidistance around its circumference. The crowd was just starting to fill up the seats that were up and surrounding a dome of protective energy. Although not a huge crowd, they sounded like one as they cheered for the combatants.
Good evenin folks! Weve got a real treat for you tonight! Its the chance of a lifetime; to see a samurai and a ninja, often two feuding factions, fighting together to defeat a common foe! Who will they be fighting you ask? the energetic announcer shouted. Suddenly, the center of the floor opened up and slowly a huge platinum and purple mecha suit rose up. Whew! That thing looks nasty! Just for the sake of excitement, were pulling out all the stops! The damage in this match will be at maximum so we can really see what these fighters can do! The kinetic dampeners were turned down so Jase and Ians attacks would be at their maximum but the mech suit itself was remotely controlled and its hydraulic assault gauntlets and ammunition were both toned down to relatively non-lethal levels or as non-lethal as a giant robot can be. Okay then! LETS GET THIS MATCH STARTED! The crowd roared as the huge robot came to life and began to move.
Ive been meaning to fight a few more giant robots lately. All those times I couldnt make a dent? Heh, thats all changed now, Ian said with a grin as he waved to the audience.
Just dont get cocky....and leave me something to fight, Jase commented as he pulled out a kunai and a shuriken from a strap near his leg. The robot was built for defense mostly, with armor a bit thicker than most but at the cost of its offensive capabilities and movement but with its size compared to the arena, it wouldnt need much movement anyway. Ian calmly walked up to the machine, his hand at his bokken. Jase prepared to attack a vulnerable spot on the mech by melting into the shadows.
((Ill provide commentary for the match. Ill say anyone can jump in but give my guys a chance to fight for a post and then jump in. If someone jumps in Id say after the robots defeat they can fight each other but Im leaning against that cause the damage isnt restricted. Also, you can choose how the robot attacks your character, just dont take all the attention to give others a chance to do something.)) -
"That sounds like another option. Let's just hope we all get a chance to see our gladiators in battle soon," Ryjuta smiled.
((Yeah, when will that next fight start so I can toss in one of my characters?))
-
"Interesting," Ryjuta replied blandly. "That may work the first time but I can imagine him finding a way around it, one way or another." He then looked up at the monitor and continued to watch the fight.
-
Ryjuta politely smiled. "I've taught him well. He knows not to underestimate his opponent and breaking his confidence is tougher than you think. It is his strongest trait, after all."
The master swordsman silently thought a moment, "It wouldn't be impossible to play on his emotions if that's the only way. I've heard he can be quite lecherous."
"I wouldn't say lecherous.....eager perhaps," Hyun-ki chimed in.
"No matter," Ryjuta said with a shake of his head. "Maybe there are certain match stipulations that could work against him. Altered gravity? Decreased speed? Is anything like that possible?" -
Thats not it, Ryjuta said with a sigh. He leaned back a bit in his seat, altering his perfect posture. I havent a doubt all the fighters here are capable of defeating Ian but his chance of victory is far from small as well. His specialty is one-on-one combat so he feels particularly at ease in such circumstances.....this is why I dont want him to win *any* of his battles. It may be impossible to alter the match so he loses, therefore a streak of all losing matches may be out of the question but I want him to at least lose the majority of his fights.
He rested his empty glass down on the table and continued, So I'd rather he not have an equal chance to win or lose."
