    XP and I5

So, you're making it impossible not to outlevel contacts and miss a bunch of things in the game.

You're making it even less likely that anyone will ever get to the Caverns Of Transcendence.

Outlevling the contacts is a real problem for the group of us who like to miss nothing, and keeping debt constantly is the only way we have to prevent it.

If contacts responded to security level instead of combat level, we could choose not to level till we wanted, and that would fix it for some of us, but I'm not shure who it would upset.
  2. A reply from the CEO about in-game features... or the CEO using the God of Chaos as his namesake... I don't know which is cooler. =)

As you can perhaps tell, sir, we eagerly await the release of I4. This has, oddly, given me something in it to look forward to.

(I'd have used the name, but it was taken. Now I know by who, and, um... well, I approve.)
  3. I have been thinking about it, and I would be worried about allowing any random IRC client to connect to the game servers.

It would be neat to have access from outside, but a java or javascript based access via browser would be fine and dandy if they could swing it. It would let me chatter with folks from outside the game and give them the control of the interface to the game servers.

Not to say it'll happen, but it would be cool.
  4. I thought of this this morning on the way in to work... these channels sure look like IRC. You have a handle. You join channels. You send private messages.

Wouldn't it be swell if I could point my regular IRC client at them, and be able to keep an eye on them from outside the game? I can tell you I'd have Trillian open on the supergroup all afternoon at the office.

It would be wonderful, and I'd like to see it.

    Am I the only one?
  5. What will be the point with only five channels?

I can think of something like a dozen or more that I'll want to join up to. I'd use a window ('4', probably) to have all the AT channels, all the server channels I play on, and any local city (San Jose, etc) channels appropriate open. I can then close that if I get busy, and not miss anything important.

I can put all the people I know, and all my supergroups and things in another window.

Five archetypes, a dozen (or so) servers, half a dozen super groups, local groups, plus special interests (I've already heard of "taxkbots", "livejournal", "kill skuls"...) and you'll need a bunch of channels.

    Five is seriously not enough.

If they've set it low for testing, that's cool. If it's that low when we're done... this isn't useful, because I can't do all the things with it I'd like to, and I'll have to choose to snub groups I'd be interested in.

Not a choice I want to have to make!

Please add many more simeltaneous channels!
  6. Well, let's see... I haven't done much RP in CoH, but I like thinking of good names.

The Machinst: Hiding his real name from those who would oppose him, he uses technology and gadgets to fight crime and keep the city safe. (Why did no one tell me I'd spelld his name wrong until he was level 24?) [Champion, Elec/Dev blaster]

Vidnur Tofa: Old Norse for "wind fox". (Or so my bad translation says.) He's a foxish flying claws scrapper. Hard to do "fox" with the character generator, but this was my try. (I've now seen better.) I've had several more detailed stories for him, and can't decide which I like better. Is he a messenger from the Spirit Of The Fox, or a human who was rescued by some fox-god? Don't know yet. [Guardian, Claws/SR scrapper]

Tyr Ilar: A doctor who lost his family in the Rikti invasion, but discovered that he could heal others, becoming a hero to try and make something of his now-empty life. The name came to him in a dream, Tyr being the old god of justice. He's not sure what Ilar is yet either. [Protector, Empath/Energy defender.]

Ward Ohm: A hybrid tiger/human, augmented with all sorts of doodads, he escaped from a mad scientist's lab having only a number, and nowhere to go. He heard that strange people were more accepted in Paragon City and made his way there, to try and make something positive of himself. After getting arrested for sleeping in the train stations, he was handed over to the City Rep, who helped him become an official hero, and to think of a name for himself. He didn't understand why the Rep kept grinning about it, but it describes his power set. [Protector, FF/Electric defender]

I have a bunch of other alts, but those are the ones I liked. I have a tanker on Virtue who I liked, and wanted to RP, but who's name I can't remember.
