Hey everyone, Welcome to Lady-Jades Power suggestion box. I have been kicking this idea around a lot for a while now and finally got the guts to try this. A while back I was listening to an online radio station that will remain nameless (this isnt a plug for them), they had Cuppajo as their guest. One thing she mentioned about posts in the forums and the Dev team is that post that are well organized, easy to read and made up of things like lists that are easy to compile and get to the meat of the information faster are things that She looks for when she is passing things on to the Dev team if something catches her eyes.
So I had this idea for a power suggestion thread (I know not a new idea). However when I was thinking of it I was thinking of one that would have guidelines to it. Rules that each suggestion would follow that way each suggestion would follow the same profile/format. Some thing that would make all the powers compiled easier to access for a Dev (should one grace this post with a visit). There have been a lot of power suggestions but no real consolidation of the well thought out and documented ones.
I love seeing suggestions for new powers but sometimes all people post are I would like to see a water based power set. That in itself doesnt really help the Devs. So I would love it, if anyone that wants to add powers to here (and please do) to just follow the following example. Following this initial post Ill be posting my first power idea. I am working on more then 1 but I only have 1 done enough to post following my own rules. So one thing I would like to see is if you are planning to post a power set here that you post all the powers in the set. Thus if you are posting a Primary/secondary you post all 9 powers in that set. If its a pool power then the 4 powers in that set. Id like to see things follow somewhat the following format.
Power Set Name: (example Super Reflexes)
Primary/Secondary of Pool Power: (example Secondary)
Arch-type it is for: (example Scrappers/Stalkers)
List of Powers
For each power I would like to see the following.
Power Name: (example Focused Fighting)
Description of Animation: (example Uses the same animation as weave)
Power Effects: (example +DEF to all Melee/Smashing/Lethal attacks)
As I mentioned this post will be followed by my first example. I have more coming though I hope.
************************************************** ********************************
The index is grouped by Power Set type (Ranged Damage Sets, Melee Damage Sets, etc). Each individual powerset normally shows which Archetype the creator had in mind when working up the set. If you come across a bad link or a set that is not listed in the index, please PM me and I will be glad to add it. If you see two identical listings (ex. Rad Melee); these indicate two sets with the same name offered by different people.

We all know of the Test Server, I've actually spent 4+ hours there today playing around with builds. Problem with the Test Server is that it only works for things that they plan to implement.
So what happens when sometime down the line they decide Mako's sets are too strong or they want to change how one of the powers work - whoever has Mako can't decide to pick another patron. The test server doesn't solve that.

Isn't that the same thing as when my SR scrapper is ALREADY 50 before they nerf perma-elude. Before the global defense nerf and before the ED changes? Those are 3 MAJOR changes that effect SR heavily. Well guess what I am locked into SR because I am certainly not going to just delete a level 50. On the up side if they nerf your patron power thats far easier to deal with then when they nerf your whole secondary. Patrons are 10 levels of your toons life (though the longest levels) your secondary is all 50 levels.
I would like to respec out of the patron but I don't see a diffrence if they don't let us. Its the same as any other primary or secondary. Just ask all the Fire Tankers who made it to level 50 with thier wonderful burn power. I have a few in our SG that won't even play them now with the burn nerf. They don't get to respec out of fire armor though because of the nerf. I think that is far harder on the player then not being able to change the patron power. -

Now, and this is purely my experience, it seems that longbow would wipe the floor w/ Arachnos. The reason - wardens. These guys are like PvP-ing with a hero that has unlimited end and 8 dmg SOs (unaffected by ED) in their attacks.
I realize that it won't ever be a difinitive battle so as to keep the game going, but who'd you would win in an all out fight?
Personally, I think Malta should just swarm the whole of Paragon city and the Rogue isles and sap everyone into oblivion, but that's just me

At level 25, they are pretty much equal. I ran a couple hundred test battles with random spawns to make it so....
Higher levels, well, no guarantee's.

Now thats an ingame video I'd like to see. -

Here is a bunch of pics of Lady-Jade from the Justice server
She has four costumes for various stages in her career. Her first (the one with the skirt) Is her first one she used when she first became a hero.
Her second one is her Department of Inter-Dimentional Defence Special Forces Uniform as she joined that Super Group and became a Field Agent in that group.
Her third is her 'Bad Girl' uniform, every hero goes through those dark periods.
Lastly is her 'Fully Mutated' look. Sort of like if her mutation and powers get pushed to thier ultimate goal this is what her final mutation ends up in. (It is actually my favorite look of hers however not really a 'suit' that could be used.)
The best Uniform or look for a pagent I think would be the dress/skirt look.

I agree, if people want to PL let them. Other PL'ing doesn't hurt me personally in the least. However the the cure is painful. I don't smoke, but I don't hound people who do. The PL'ers pay their $15 just like I do. They are free to enjoy the game as they see fit, jsut as I am free to play the game as I see fit. If I want to spend 12 hours in game dancing, who cares? It doesn't hurt anyone at all. If some guy I have never met, chooses to PL his character up to lvl 14 cause he hates having no travel power...how does that in any way shape or form hurt me? You are forcing paying costomers to play the game your way, which really defeats the purpose of an MMO, One of the big draws of an MMO is how open ended it is, that each of us who pay out every month can play how they want to play. I know it was mentioned the Taxi-Bots, who sit in the train station for hours at a time TP people to the train station. That certainly isn't the way I want to play the game but I'd never force these people to play the game the way I want to play.
If Pl'ing was causing harm to other players then certainly i can see putting all this effort into stoping it but as such there is no form of PL (that I know of) that harms any other players in the game (except maybe the lowbies in PI crying to be PL'd but that what the /ignore command was invented for)
I don't think any fix that is supposed to stop PL'ing should hurt the general players and this fix does just that. As many have pointed out, PL'ing is still going to happen I have show that even with this 'fix' you can still PL, and missions arn't altered by this fix and from what I have seen more PL'ing happens in missions then on the street. -
The one minute death timer thing also hurts any team that doesn't have an empathy or radiation defender on their team.
If you die on a team that doesn't have an awaken and doesn't have an empathy or radiation defender on it (and before you got an attack off or hit with an attack) you are penalized. If this is the case the amount of awakens that drop better be increased, I don't want to lose out on xp just because I didn't buy an awaken. Not only that one other poster posted an interesting problem, sinec every rex timer is what? 5min un-enhanced, if 3 members die before doing damage, what if an empathy defender can only get 2 of them up before the fight ends, which 2 does he rez? how mad will that 3 person be? If they are only letting us be dead a minute before we forfiet our xp then rez timers need to be looked at thats for sure. -

Why would you even bother with this? If you are going to be in two sperate groups on two seperate sides of PP then you ARE in effect two seperate teams. Seriously why not just hunt in the same group or near each other.
This is an extremely minor hit to gameplay well worth teh price of admission.

Because spliting up or 'scooby doo'ing as some of us call it is faster xp. We do it all the time mainly in brickstown. It makes no sence for a team of 8 to be beating down the small street mob size. However 2 teams of 4 or 2 teams of 3, hunting on diffrent spots in brickstown can effectively double the amount of xp you get. I have done this sort of thing since week one of game with several teams, PP and in Brickstown are big for this at least with some of the people I team with. heck in PI I was on a team of 4, 2 tanks, me a scrapper and a PB we split up and each hunted in a diffrent part of the map, it makes for fast xp that adds up over time.

2. I wont be able to get the experience from the battle I died in when buffing because the battle ussualy takes longer than a minute and so does most rez powers.
So in some magtastic fashion after you buff the teamates and then die in a street mission the entire battle wanders off 300ft away from your body? Oh yes that happens all the time... or wait how about nearly never. Again well wroth the price of admission.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually the secnario I was thinking is you call your team to gatehr for buffs (300ft+) from mobs for safety, you and your team rush in to kill the mob but you get killed in the mob alpha strike, it takes your team more then 1 minute to kill the mob and you don't get the xp. Dispite the fact your team probably handled the mob easier with your buffs on.

To the person that was pointing out that you can slot moonbeam to 400ft.
Assuming that you were trying to shoot a foe 400ft away and every shot missed and then a meteor fell from the sky and smote the villain for you, then yes, in that situation you would not get exp.
Jebuz save us.
I can not believe some of these questions.

Actually I have a friend that has sniper shot 6 sloted with range hami-os. What he does is targets a friend. That friend (lets say a tank) runs in and attacks the mob, it is very easy for my blaster friend to shoot that mob with assit on the tanker. Most of the time he can't even see on his screen the mob. Now this is in the extreme but it is very possible to use this tactic and I know its used. -
Actually this change doesn't really hurt people who want to PL. As mentioned the only type of PL it stops is the lvl 1 sitting at the train station while his team kills things and PL's.
However as others have pointed out, 300ft is quite a distance. That being said, as long as the PL team has a tank on it, the lvl 1 can easily stay within 300ft of the combat with little/no risk to them at all. In fact all you need are 2 things, a Ill/* controller and a tanker of any kind. The tanker aggro's the mobs, herds them, then the Ill/* controller (with tp) teleports the lvl 1 within the 300ft range. making sure the lvl 1 has invisability on him at all times. In fact the lvl 1 person can still be afk as teh Controller Tp's his invisable body around safely. The only diffrence is now the lvl 1 won't be in the train station.
This however opens up a situation where griefing might be a problem. Here is teh situation, TP the lvl 1 character to a store in SteelCanyon. The lvl 1 sits inside as the tank herds stuff just outside the store to kill them. Someone just wanting to shop for enhancments comes to the store and may get killed by the mob the tank herded close to the store in order to keep the lvl 1 in that 300ft range.
(though I see the last point as highly unlikely but a possiblity)
I do see my first point working just fine there would be little to no risk in an Ill controller Tping an invisable lvl 1 around to be PL'd as long as you had a good tank to keep the taunted mobs in check 300ft away. Heck a mob 300ft away from a lvl 1 wouldn't aggro to him anyway so it will still be easy to pl even if not invisable. Any debt you get while keeping in that 300ft range if you do make a mistake and get to close to a mob will be removed while getting PL'd -
Not sure if it was mentioned but there is a Prisoner Boss in Bricks named 'J.P. Mason'
In the movie 'The Rock' Sean Conery plays a character named John Patrick Mason. Who is supposed to be the only man to have escaped Alcatraz. Seems he has also escapped The Brickstown Prison as well.
