This is your friend's business, while your sentiment is nice, and I'm sure would be appreciated. It would be a waste of your money to have something done and then possible rejected by her. Why not give her a "commission" -ish gift certificate, asking which ever artist you intend to hire, to consider working with your friend on the final piece, instead of presenting her with a finished work for her own business that she had no say in. It's kind of like being stuck with the logo your mom bought for you to start kindergarten with, if logos were required in kindergarten. Do you get my meaning, she's stuck with your nice gesture, unless she doesn't mind offending you.
But if you work it out with the artist, then she gets the work of a professional, on your dime, and the input on her own finished logo. I hope that made some kind of sense.
EDIT: also, you will have to okay full rights for your friend from the artist. Logos are NOT cheap. In fact they usually cost 3 figures in the real world. However, you may find an artist with a kind heart, a generous spirit and a lot of time on their hands who will do it for waaaay less than they should get paid. And you have to consider, your friend may tire of the logo eventually, so it should be a pretty good fit. You will want an artist willing to do changes... those changes should be included in the price, and have them aware, that you are not paying for a finished piece of art without some kind of "quality input".
Good luck to you and your friend. I am curious why you would ask a bunch of comic artists to design a logo for a jewelry artist. Kind of a stretch... though I'm sure a good artist can do most anything. Don't forget to consider how the reduced logo will look on business cards. -

Sokay... takes a lot to actually insult me, though on this board, I like to fly off at the drop of a hat, the old can't tell someone's tone because of the internet excuse.
YOU BASTID!!! just kidding. -
Will you two get a room, you're mucking up my nekkid thread!
-
I may indulge you, but I don't think anyone else on my queue is in the Nekkid category. Oh well...

Quote:In the final i think it would of looked better to not oversaturate the lightning around her eyes. The eyes really make the pic pop. Though that would be my only crit if any at all!
Well if you take a good look at the reference, her eyes are even more saturated than what I did. To un-saturate them, I'd hear it from the client. Unless you wanna step in and tell them it was your fault I didn't color the eyes... I'm more than willing to throw you on the tracks to save myself!LOLOLOL...

That is a great looking piece too... it's almost a shame you had to put the mesh over the top after all that skin work.
Oh yeah that "mod", I remember Soul Train using it at one time. As for the mesh, it couldn't be helped. I could have done it neater, but I was hating it to begin with... in fact I had to re-render all the skin tones again, which helped with the 3 dimensionality.
These are mostly done in Painter. But I knew the eyes had to be done in Photoshop. So I left the mesh to be done there too... I've looked into mesh looking filters, but they don't wrap naturally, and well it's just faster to do it by hand.
Got another semi-nudish one today... which I drew 2 months ago, and am just now coloring. Thank God slumps don't last forever. -
Okay okay, I gave in and put in the unmentionables... 2 click rule...

This one is a long time coming, been putting it off till I was inspired, and I think today's the day... anyway, 2 click rule to see anything, but here are the stages. Working on the final now. Unfortunately the final will have mesh over all that lovely skin painting I did. Oh well...

But didn't he say 8am aussie time, so 6pm tonight?

Not exactly what I was going for, an about 30 minutes work... but I still like it. BIG version here.

I have an idea for your main Caemgen... but I gotta sleep now.

Okay I lied, I forgot I wanted to do AOT, so he went in here. This one took the full 10 minutes, and maybe 5 more to get the different brushes to work. I figured what the hell, why limit myself. I used 5 brushes this time out and white.
EDIT: Whoops almost forgot the link to the big one...
-
I'm not picking topics, but I may draw whoever follows... and so on. Or in this case preceeded me... I tried not to use any special brushes. Just the normal sized one, one specialty brush to do the lines in the mask, and another "thick" brush to do the trapz... Oh and this took 6-8 minutes total, maybe 10, but I got interrupted half way.

I like the bright contrast of the fire over the similar red of the lightning... too bad they don't have a hood down version for like a burning skull effect ala Ghost Rider. NO TA, I will not draw that... You. Can't. Make. Me.

I am debating on altering it here and there. The metal parts should have reflections. And while I like the lighting I did on Catgirl. Her face is drastically different then the soft sketch Starwind made, so I am wondering if I should just color her with less dramatic light, also I forgot to color her stripes on her face.
Anyway, all these things you pick up in hindsight. Thank you everyone for the reviews, they made my week... and now if only the Yankees win tonight!
