I notice _Castle_ has avoided the hockey question...
Very interesting... -

Hm, doubtful that it could be so simple, but might Craig Zinkievich be the name behind _Castle_?
[/ QUOTE ]
Craig is far too cool to be me. He's one of our best Producers, though -- he's great at cracking the whip and getting people to get things done.

Are you on the Cryptic Hockey Team? -

And Statesman's handy at making babies.

Speaking of this - his kids need a "I win" badge for "Bring your parents to school day".
"My dad makes video games!"

Yeah. Career Day and Bring Your Kid To Work Day must rock hard for dev-kidlets. -

Ex, you evil, evil lady! How dare you post a pic of Jay on here! That's considered pr0n in most modern countries!
[/ QUOTE ]
In celebration of next wednesday being National Talk Like a Pirate Day, Jay has whipped up some new costume concepts.
What do y'all think?

No. He's teh sexxy.
[/ QUOTE ]
He looks a bit young for my own personal definition of sexy, but he's got potential. -

Hmm, don't think we've ever seen a pic of _Castle_...
<edited due to massive brain fartage>

Yes please.
Also, can we get one of Lighthouse shaking his fist at his monitor? -

Sorry guys, just learning to survive with one 19 month old and one two week old! Hard to get free time...

It gets better. Wait till their both walking.
Then take them to the zoo.
The petting zoo. -

Just curious - I once took a spring break job (Yeah, a whole week!) working on those, back in...oh god... a year I can't reveal now.

It had four digits and started with "19"

Yanno Posi, you could always just go the easy way. Stab the jailer with the pencil in the temple, behind the eye and stir.

Now, back to the design grind... anyone know a good way to pick a handcuff with a mechanical pencil, a Hero Clix, and a poker chip?
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you get a paper clip? -

Ok, but I can't talk about Issue 11 or beyond... but that's pretty much what you guys WANT me to talk about so we are at an impass.

Uhm... ok. What's your favorite color?

Yeah, admittedly I haven't been in beta (closed or open either one) half as long as Athyna...but really, in a lot of ways? It's running around with guns, grinding by shooting bugs, and zapping things with your magic--excuse me, Logos--powers. Been done, heck, I was in a game like that for too long...called Star Wars Galaxies.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've wondered for a while if I would've liked SWG a lot more had it been an original setting rather than a Star Wars title. I may have to try TR out just to see.
Also, does anyone else recall way, way back when that Tabula Rasa was going to be far more "sandbox" like? I vaguely recall some sort of hype about virtual societies and extremely non-directed gameplay... and then it sounds like they scrapped all that and went for this FPS/MMO hybrid. Did I just hallucinate that version of TR..?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry Lighthouse. Last answer, I promise.
Yesh, they did. They had a setting, then completely scrapped it and started over from scratch, including some of the team. -

If the all access multi pass doohickey comes to fruition, I'll play TR. It's a fun diversion from CoX. But I can't see dropping CoX for TR. Maybe, in a couple years, TR will have grown enough to have all that they wanted. But for now, my heart stays in Paragon/Rogue Isles.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Exactly how I feel after playing TR since Feb. A good game, but not good enough to tear me away from CoX.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh, I've been there since last November. I honestly thought launch would be pushed back a couple of months. But, I've been told by others that having it released before Christmas might be a deciding factor. Especially if they plan to keep adding things.
I hope the buff netguns back up a tad, or at least go a little easier on the whole immunity crap. What is immune to an electrified net? Nothing. -

Hmm... I heard the game was just "meh", what's the source of the discontent?
[/ QUOTE ]
The hype I fear.
Richard Garriott's newest title promises to break the MMO mold and chart a new direction for the future of gaming!
It's a game. There is some new stuff but honestly, I don't think the tech exists yet to do what the hype promised.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bingo - people are expecting something... groundbreaking, and they are not truly getting it.
I have been in the Beta for a while and seen lots of changes, I just couldn't see myself playing for long - it is fun and can be engaging, but for me there is something missing.. and I am not sure what that something is.

Makes sense. Personally, I've never even understood the hype. What the hell good is a MMO without elves? Even CoX allows you to make elves.

Elves schmelves. I'll take an incendiary shotgun over an elf any day. -

Isn't she at a conference or something this week? There has been a lack of Cuppa attention over there - poor Critters has her hands full.

Critters went with Cuppa. Avatea is all alone. -

Again...Has anyone officially announced that there is gonna be a Halloween event this year, or are we just assuming that there will be one?
[/ QUOTE ]
I know this has been answered but I can't remember which thread so, I can't start out with "Again, yes" even though I want to.
Anyway, down in CoH General there's a thread from Mindripper where he posts everything Positron said to him at PAX. Yes, there will be a Halloween this year. -
I can't think of how to word it, but something about letter requirements, you know, how the search engine doesn't recognize 2 letters but does recognize 3 letters? Something about that.
I just wonder if someone would search for IO's and find nada.

I'm sure I'm going to be flamed for this, but i have a question about the supergroup shown in this issue that was using a copyrighted name. If we can't name our characters after or similar to famous names (ala Echo-Location Using Flying Furry Mammal Man), then how can SGs use names like Birds of Prey when a comic book of the same name exists?
[/ QUOTE ]
This is just a guess from me but, I was under the impression that it's not just name but concept that gets a character genericed if it's a common name. Like costume + name + bio, if it's all too similar to a known character, then it's genericed. Exceptions would be names of real people.
So, I don't know but my first thought would be if the SG was nothing like the comic book group, then it's ok. -

And I'd probably help AC make you fix Stalkers.
That's all.

And you call yerself a Kidnapper...
Better idea: Force him to listen to Pop-Rap

It seems now is a good time to throw in a shameless plug for an event here in Tampa. We have theme parks and pirate parties and we won't kidnap anyone. Unless you're into that, there's a club in Ybor if you are.
