  1. Sorry again for sounding upset. I think my fatal flaw is patience. I am not a patient man, and I'm very impulsive.

I did try Memphis Bills' SO origin trick, but I guess I was disheartened when I went to the market because I went through quite a few enhancements but it seemed there were either none selling or the listed price was like 20-50k or more. I also went to look at the IOs and again the going price was usually 50-100k. Perhaps you can get them for stupid cheap if you're patient though..

About the only thing I've been able to reliably do on the market is find cheap selling uncommon (yellow) salvage that sells for around 200-500 and buy the crap outta that stuff, and then turn around and sell it back to vendors for 1000 each. It's really not alot though. I filled my slots up last night bidding on stacks of 10 each, but it looks like I'll only turn a profit of about 70-75k this way, which isn't necessarily bad I guess but it doesn't seem good enough.

Anyway, thanks for continuing to offer advice. I think any other MMO forum would have told me to piss off by now xD
  2. Yeah..it's not easy for me though. To be both frank and honest I'm getting a little tired of everyone on the forums being like "it's so easy, I can make x amount by lvl whatever". Well I must be an idiot because I just can't do it. I've tried, I've read different guides, but what I read just doesn't seem to translate to the actual market. I'm either reading outdated stuff, or I'm just really really REALLY unlucky with prices......
  3. Alright thanks for the tips. Sorry if I sound a bit "hostile"..making money has never been a forte of mine in any MMO I've played

Second, what are you running? If you're cashing in Architect Entertainment tickets for DOs or SOs...well, it actually works out pretty good that way. DOs and SOs are quite cheap if you use tickets for 'em.

I have 6 AE tickets, but I'm mainly soloing story arcs on this guy.
  5. You sure you're talking about the finished product? Unless things have changed that much since I last played I remember it costing 5-10k just to get the recipe to make the IO...

Also, for the DOs that *do* drop, are you selling them at the correct vendors? There is a difference in the amount of INF you get back.

Wasn't aware of this. Care to elaborate?
  7. I'm not disputing that IOs are cheaper over time, I'm disputing my ability to afford them. Just because they're cheaper doesn't mean they don't cost some money.

I've been selling things on the market, but like I said I'm not "lucky". I don't get showered with salvage that sells for millions and millions.
  8. Don't have the money to make IOs, even the common ones. If you can make enough IOs to slot all of your powers on 300k though, more power to you.
  9. ...if I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford SOs at 22? My guy is currently lvl 13 (almost 14) and sitting on about 300k inf. I have no higher lvl toons, I use to, I actually use to have a 50 and a couple others at 30+, but I quit and came back and I didn't have them anymore so I guess I deleted them or something.

Anyway, I believe you can begin buying DOs at 14, but as I said I'm a bit apprehensive because I don't know if I'd gain enough influence in order to afford SOs at 22. In fact I'm sure I wouldn't seeing as by my projections I'd barely be able to afford them even if I didn't spend a penny between now and 22. It costs like 1 mil to afford all of your SOs at 22, so I've got about 700k to go and I'm praying I get lucky with some salvage or something.

That's actually one of my beefs with CoH. It's an awesome game, but I don't know of any other MMO that requires you do dump tons and tons of money while leveling just so you're able to level in a pleasant and hassle free way. Gear in other games (enhancements are what I would consider "gear" in CoX) merely suffice to enhance your abilities, But in CoX you pretty much HAVE to dump millions into your powers in order for them to even be effective. I find it ironic that they're called "enhancements", yet a more fitting term would be "requisities" since they're pretty much required or your attacks will just be horrible.

It wouldn't be such a big deal if making the money in order to accomplish this wasn't based entirely on luck. Getting lucky with a salvage or recipe drop, but if you don't you're pretty much SoL. Sometimes I wish you could just shut off your xp and go grind some mobs for a while to make the inf you need.

Anyway.....should I get DOs or hold out and see if I can afford SOs at 22? xD
  10. I'm not really looking at IOs just yet (mainly due to just not being able to afford it), but I do plan to slot end reduction all over my build, 1 in each attack and 2 in my toggles. Hopefully that combined with stamina will offset the endhog I'm finding MA/SR to be.
  11. I went with /SR and I'm constantly end starved. As Captain_Croatia said MA's attacks are a bit more end intensive, but couple that with SR's early toggles and I'm constantly looking at an empty end bar. I'm not even sure if Stamina alone will completely offset this, but here's hoping.

Still, it's kind of funny waiting for some end to regen so you can finish off a mob, and just stand there toe-to-toe dodging and deflecting all of his attacks xD
