  1. This is your second-in-command speaking. My new ISP is horrible. High latency, logs me out a lot, incredibly restrictive bandwith limits...

I won't be able to play until I can find a new service, so you guys are on your own. =\

Considering my heavy reliance on Fitness, well... None of my characters are particularly good until level 20, either. I love them all, it's just that they're a pain to level up...

Cursed zombies! If not for you, I'd have beat Super Princess Peach by now! XP

I guess I'm just not the average person, then. I'd rather have some patience and wait until I'm level 15. =P

'Course, I swear none of my characters are any good until level 14 anyway...

So basically, the game is better now. =D

Still, if it's a level 15 TF, it's kind of a bad idea to try it at level 10 anyway...

  6. God, I love being all but immune to the run of the mill zombies. X3

I don't care what anyone else says: Shorts + Tights = Sexy!
  7. Yeah, but... everything scales to team size. And there are plenty of annoying mobs in the game. As long as the team is balanced, they shouldn't have a serious problem.

Though, given the level of the TF, I suppose the team would have to rely heavily on Leadership...

Ye gods, imagine running it with a full team of Leadership characters. I was on a team the other night in CoV that consisted almost entirely of Arachnos archetypes. All of them had the defense buffs. We could take on +4 mobs without even being scratched. *breaks down into giggling* Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.

...I should not post at 1am.

Right. Yeah. I had a hunch, but I didn't log back in to check. I usually don't pay attention to mission titles and contacts when going through Ouroboros. I just pay attention to the mission descriptions...

That was the task force? Pft. Dunno why I heard horror stories about THAT.

Anyway! In the interest to staying on topic for a 'multi media' thread, does anyone have any suggestions for my next doodle?

I know. I've still got one charge left on "Penny's" clockwork. (I collect temporary powers...)

But I'm a longs ways away from the veteran reward... A loooong ways away.

    Thank you. ^^

...I want a Clockwork pet. They're so cute. When they're not electrocuting me.

  11. Dunno how well the image is sized...

So anyway. Ouroboros. I love it. I'd never get to do half the hilarious and awesome stuff without it.

Like how I did a certain Positron mission line... I forget what the story arc is CALLED, though. It involved lots of running around, beating up Clockworks, Circle of Thorns and Vahzilok zombies...

Then the last mission comes up. It's a free for all brawl against ALL OF THEM AT ONCE. My GOD, it was great. It's like the mission was BUILT for me. Why?

Regeneration: I have high Endurance recovery, making Clockworks less of a problem. I have pretty awesome Toxic resistance, making the zombies less of a problem. The only issue was with the Circle accuracy debuffs... Except, wait! I triple slotted accuracy enhancements and I have Build Up! Heh. Heh. Heh.

Broke out my Pistol temp power to pull a few Embalmed off of a big group, but otherwise relied exclusively on my archetype powers...

Oh yeah: I did this whole mission line, while fighting bosses and fighting at +1 threat level, without being defeated a single time. All while wearing what amounts to a sleeveless, midriff showing tuxedo. Hilarious.

Behold the midriff of JUSTICE! Look upon my abs, ye mighty, and DESPAIR!

    ...

In short: I love you, City of Heroes. If I could, I would marry you.
  12. I'll let the 'dude' and 'brotha' pass. ;p

    It's good to be back.
  13. Yes, it seems awfully redundant - even to me, as I type this - to post a review on a wildly popular and long running MMO... But to heck with it, I want to so I'm gonna.

To start, I'm going to give a little context information:

Years ago, when I depressed (My lord, angst! I found caffeine. Life got better.), lonely individual who was tired of spending all day replaying old Play Station games and listening to the news, unable to find a group of local table top role players, I turned to the internet to meet my social gaming needs.

I found MMOs. They were good. But I was unable to afford them, so I could only play free games... I did, however, discover that one of my favorite free servers was illegal. I backed out of MMO gaming for a while after that, promising myself that I'd find some way to play the games legitimately. Of course, I also promised myself that, if I could afford to play a pay-to-play game, I'd play something better.

A friend suggested that I try City of Villains. Now, I had an old, dying laptop and a slow internet connection, so I was worried I'd be wasting my money... But never the less, I tried it.

It was slow. It lagged. It took ten to fifteen minutes to load a mission map. I'd often come out of a mission and, by the time the graphics loaded I'd find I had been killed by some invading Rikti or zombies. Never the less, it was fun. After coming from the low-end graphics and limited options of... I'll just say 'my old MMO of choice', to avoid stepping on toes... It was stunning to find so many options. And every single one of them was fun.

Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the game and eventually my laptop gave up the ghost, so the CoV DVD was played on a shelf on my computer desk to gather dust.

A year later, my laptop finally died (for the third time) and could not be brought back. I was sad, of course; That laptop had given me years of service and I had so many fond memories. But it gave me the excuse I needed to spend a little money, something I'm not quick to do in most cases, to buy a new computer.

I also possessed a Paypal account by that point in time, doing some artwork for chump change. (My 'entertainment budget', as I like to call it...)

So one of the very first things I did, after rebuilding my settings and files to the best of my ability, was to take out that old DVD and reinstall in City of Villains. A one month subscription later, I was back in the game.

Once again, my mind was blown. The game had changed so much from a year before, but it still felt the same. Instead of feeling foreign, it simply felt better. I remember a time when Fateweavers would charge for their services.

I've been back for over four months. And I never want to leave again.

I love the game more now then ever before. Every update is wonderful. Every player is wonderful. Every time I log in, the game is enjoyable. From the mission architect to Ouroboros and every other feature I never had a chance to try, I love them all.

So that's my review. In short, I'm a reclusive gamer living in the middle of no where, so my opinion may not matter to some, but it matters to me. This is the greatest game I've ever played and I'm glad I'll be here to watch it grow.
