    Happy Fourth of July!
  4. Looking good Eddy! I'm looking forward to seeing how your matte painting develops.
  5. Cool - thanks for the feedback!
  6. Ya, some really nice pieces TA! I am a bit buried with RL projects and my freebie time seems to be getting sucked up by the FArt contest. I am planning on still cranking out my own TA image, but it may just be a bonus for you that comes in at a later date lols.
  7. *bump*

Out of curiosity, would there be interest in seeing stages of development on pieces like I have been doing for the FArt contest or other works? I know some here do Livestream and such and while I sort of like watching those, I don't really think that is something I want to do at this time. However, showing "stages of development" may be of interest for some and I would be cool with doing that too.

On a side note, I am putting probably more time then I should be for this month's FArt and I hope to hit the deadline, but with that said I doubt I will be hitting your deadline time for your contest TA. So, if I don't make it for the contest I still hope to crank something out for you down the road with your new costume in mind.

  9. Cool pic Vex!

It's good to be evil - looking forward to doing a redside TF!

I'll probably run a brute or dominator (corr if necessary).
  10. I'll be sporting the full black trench coat too - Highlander styling for my bs/elec scrapper! "There can be only one"...errr, ok, 8 actually.
  11. Nice vid Vex! I found this little gem earlier and thought it was worth sharing...

  12. I think I am going to be putting some Captain in this TF *strikes a foot on treasure chest conquest pose*...Yarg!...ok, not that Captain. Some Captain Crunch!
  13. Thanks guys! Ya Caemgen, I probably should of just submitted the pencils and not even bothered the first time around with colors lols.
  14. Hey all - I am finally able to upload the finished version of my May FArt entry! Man, I wish this could of been presented like this for the actual contest - would of saved some serious heartburn!

I wanted to show the rough pencils I originally had to go with and quickly color for my submission along with a cleaned-up version. The cleaner version still retains some of its sketchiness and grainy quality which I liked on this one, but definitely not as smudgy looking and I tweaked a few things, like Electrikill’s helmet, in the final pencil drawing.

The original entry showcased the “Art Whores” of CoX - Thor’s Assassin, Thornster, and Feral Kat. The primary figure was my character Electrikill. The quickly darkened piece was intentionally done to block out another figure that was being implicated, but I didn’t think it was worth commenting on previously as I thought it was pretty obviously blackened out. The other figure (well his boot costume pieces) can be more clearly seen now as simply my other character Fire-Baller (a fire melee/regen scrapper), which I feel more comfortable commenting on now since you can actually see something there. As previously mentioned in the original entry, I wanted a piece that highlighted my characters with the “Art Whores” of CoX – I think this achieves that and over-all I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Also aren't Positron's power fx green? Color inconsistencies aside I really like the look of the piece.

Oh and he forgot to color in one part of her leg... it's on her left (the bent one) thigh in the mesh area one piece is white instead of being
skin tone like the rest... oh and also...

*see's the look on Vex's face, clamps hand over mouth and runs away leaving further nits unpicked*
Pretty sure all the above falls under artistic license. Most importantly, if VexXxa likes it (and since she was the client) that pretty much trumps all other criteria and "nit-picks". FD's summary of the rendering process covers the highlight argument pretty well imo. Regardless, like all collectors who post their prized possessions, I have to question the motive behind pointing out negatives on pieces that are clearly "done" as it seems to passively dig the collector's aesthetics as well as the artist'. On a side note, power colors are changeable now so maybe Posi wanted to try something new out and you saw it here first. Gratz' again on this high-quality image Vex!

Some of you really know how to take the fun out of this stuff.
I wish I could of wrote what I said last night as condensed as how you put it DE as this summarizes it quite on the mark. Sometimes we can all be our own worse enemy. I said this before, this was not an issue and no one seemed to care/notice until mysteriously now.

Furthermore, it was pushed into the edges of the picture and then darkened, like it was purposely being hidden from view.

Don't BS us. It's obvious what happened here.

Now, if it was just a pair of boots with a flame pattern, it could legitimately have been anyone. There's quite a few people with boots like that. But it's everything, including the events that went on behind the scenes that make the problem clear. Intent is rearing it's ugly head.

Now personally, I don't care who's "fault" this is, as I see it as a purely social problem. Bayani can't actually control anyone who tries to draw his character, but he has his rights to feel the way he does about it. JK has every right to draw what he wants, but he is rightly subject to the backlash that his art might cause. It's up to the involved parties to settle the dispute. I just can't stand seeing people write off something this blatant as co-incidence. C'mon, we're not f***ing stupid. At least come clean with it and stand up for your actions.
Coming clean, imo this is a gross over-reaction. One that clearly had to come about by someone convincing Bayani to review this image again and guided in such a way to come to this conclusion...but this again is my opinion.

However, here is a listing of events that did take place.

    1) I told Bayani that I was thinking of doing a reference piece to the "artwh*res" (keep in mind that is not me saying a bad thing, that is the term they call themselves).

    2) When I said this, Bayani said "don't use my character." It wasn't a technical, "hey man, can I use your toon." kind of question, but that is splitting hairs I would argue.

    3) I drew some boots with a loosely sketched in flame pattern. No color on boots, and extremely darkened out. (these boots are common in the game)

    4) Only one comment about the boots were made by CR (this is not me picking on CR, this is just a simple fact from what I can tell on the boards prior to this blowing out of proportion atm).

    5) I gave no validation on the boards to the above comment, as I didn't know if I was being trolled (*according to EULA, inflammatory comments are considered trolling, and the act of claiming someone is trolling is also a considered trolling. *PLEASE NOTE: this is rough definition, not me trolling yeesh).

    6) Had CR (as well as Vex and Bubba) on vent for a Friday night TF and this subject came up. I didn't bring it up, I just went along with it and I joked...I REPEAT joked by saying something to the effect of "Yes, CR this is Bayani getting blown up and all that remains are his boots." (Coincidence or not, after I say this...the next day this happens.)

    7) Later on that night, when most were logged I thought and I also may have mentioned...can't remember now since I was very tired. "Man, probably shouldn't have joked about that since it could be redirected verbally and then misconstrued."

    8) As for who, if there really was ever a specific character...there is no way I am going to comment on that now since I don't want to stir anymore potential backlash from someone else here.

This was a for fun piece, regardless of behind the scenes gossip, this whole thing got blown out of proportion somehow by only one comment on the boards (on a piece that wasn't even done yet, but had to be submitted as is). But honestly, coming clean or not, something definitely had to be said after the fact since prior to today everything seemed copesetic. It's frustrating and unfortunate and it concerns me that even as thorough and fair response I have tried to give here can be considered just fueling the flames, which is the exact opposite of what I am trying to do by explaining this to the best of my recollection. Not to mention the damage has been done, so coming clean or not is probably just a moot point anyways. Again, sorry for any misunderstanding. I'm moving on to my next (possible) submission now

*edit, it definitely won't be a player toon for this coming one*
  18. Ya, the irony is that this was a non-issue and would have stayed that way since these "time-based" threads typically disappear after each month's event and fall into complete obscurity. *shrugs*
