  3. My take on Azuria is that she should be a bit of an older woman (she's been active since at least the mid 1980's). I would give her a slightly New Age vibe with sandals and such, have her relaxed but a little professional.

She's not really a combat sorceress, at least I gather from the revamped Positron TF, so no 'costume' per-say.

    This.

Have it for both NPCs and enemy groups. Skulls, Outcasts, Hellions and Warriors are using the really old blocky stuff.

    .
  5. I agree with you in principle, but yeah, I don't think your Azuria is an improvement.

But time and resources are limited and re-doing the NPCs takes both. Updating NPCs and enemy groups to use player models is something they've talked about. It just a question of fitting it into the schedule.

No, that would be equivalent to complaining in game about problems. Something I've seen everyone do at times.

The forums are a place for discussion, but not all discussion has to be endless praise. The forums are also our primary means of getting feedback to the devs. No negative feedback is good feedback; they don't need to be told when people are happy about something as much as when people are upset because the former doesn't require action to be taken but the latter might. As the adage goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. And if someone doesn't like seeing complaints, simply don't read them.

The way I look at it, there's not a point to posting a lot about the things that are fine. That would be like Homer Simpson's 'Everything's OK Alarm' that goes off every three seconds unless there's an emergency. You don't call your cable company just to tell them they're great and things are working; you call them when the cable goes out.

If you hadn't noticed, there are really only 3 areas I ever consistently complain about.

-Supporting the soloist portion of the player base.
-How the story lore and design treats our player characters and how they fit in the world.
-Melee AT roles, conceptualization and balance issues.

Those are three fairly small areas in one very big game. I don't think anyone deserves to be dismissed if they're discontent with a tiny slice of the game, no matter how vehement they are about it.

Apparently the site denies image linking.

Honestly, I contemplated sending the studio a cake when Invul got its buffs but I couldn't find an online bakery that:

    A) Had a site that looked reputable enough to give my credit card.
    B) Delivered internationally.

If Tankers ever get ironed out I probably will send one, provided I find a means.

As far as Afterburner/Long Distance Teleport go, I wouldn't mind if they were also made into temp powers with with a duration/X number of charges one could buy with INF/merits at Wentworths etc.

This is feedback we've received in the closed beta and has been duly noted. It's most likely not in the scope of i21 (I say most likely because the art team has been working miracles lately...so who knows...) but we are aware of it.
    Cool. Thanks.

I thought I needed to address this. I've gotten a well deserved reputation as a malcontent, but the truth of the matter is, outside of a select few topics and areas of the game that I'm extremely zealous about, I'm content with around 85% of what the devs do. Even the devs I rode the hardest, I still took the time to give them props and due thanks when they did come through, even when they didn't care about hearing it.

I love discussing and learning about the lore. I think the art team constantly outdoes themselves, especially working in an outdated engine. I appreciate the consistent high level of quality the devs as a whole have shown in most things the past few years.

So, aside from a few things, I'm quite happy with i21/CoH Freedom. I'm mostly positive about it.

That said, I have a few minor quibbles. None of them are deal breakers, or even things that need to be taken care of immediately or at all.

-Beam Gun isn't really a 'beam'. It looks more like 'stream' of energy. Conceptually, I make the distinction. One is like a laser and one is like a flamethrower. Also, I was hoping they'd take advantage of this set to provide a higher level of power customization and you'd have the option to fire the attacks from the gun, from your hands, eyes, chest, etc.

-Atlas Statue. With the revamp of Atlas park, I was hoping they would update the Atlas statue to be 'hollow' like it was "originally".

-Pricing options on some store things seem to be a bit steep for VIPs. $10 isn't fair for a power set when you got four of them in Going Rogue, plus a ton of content, new zones, costumes, emotes and enemies. Add that up and look at what we paid for it new. It just doesn't work out to me.

-Additionally, giving all VIPs Going Rogue for free doesn't feel fair to those of us who paid for it still fairly recently. At the very least, giving VIPs who owned GR prior to i21 something for it in the way of Paragon Points or a discount in the store is in order, IMO.

-The new powers in the travel pool are neat and all, but a lot of them are novelties and, AFAIK, the changes to the pool restrictions don't free up any power picks to allow me to take them so sadly I probably never will.

-The first thing in the first panel of the intro comic that people see is the MOON. Why do we still have no Moon Zone? I want Johnny Sonata to open his Moon Casino so we can have some damn Wailers on the Moon.

I think they've got the 'can not die' flag on characters in the tutorial, just like they have in the Praetorian tutorial. Your HP drops to zero but you keep going.

Brutes are gonna beg to differ at being (presumably) grouped in the Tank category while being a bit of an afterthought in Melee Damage. I think the devs need a reality check unless they've made some changes to Brutes for i21.

Especially since they're using the Brute's logo for the Melee Damage role group icon.

  21. Breaking the trailer down and impressions:

-Seed of the Hamidon Giant Monster. Has red, blue, green, purple and yellow orbs that are orbiting it. Could be key in defeating it like current primal Hammi raids.

-Carnival of Light in action. Why is everything so red in every shot with these guys?

-Infected Warworks in the Underground trial.

-Giant Shivan boss from Galaxy tutorial.

-Guys in hoods. Looks like mystically themed Resistance.

-Character flying with what could be the temp power that lets people battle Seed of Hammi.

-Panning shots of First Ward. Looks like it comes with a good portion of wilderness attached.

-Again the red environment fighting the Carnival.

-Is that a magic wand temp power a player is firing?

-Heavily armored troops with BFGs fighting outside. Could be Cole's black ops guys?

    -They're spraying slime!

-More shots of the Hammiseed. Players fighting it. Again the orbs can be seen.

-Shots of the Underground trial zone. Very organic and spooky. Someone's been watching Avatar.

    -More infested Warworks.

-DE look similar to ours, with a re-skin.

-Hammi Avatar looking big and awesome. Looking a little like a Shivan. Maybe that's intentional.

    -Destroyed Galaxy is destroyed.

-BaB's hand clap does a lot of damage.

-Little Longbow Chaser is no match for an Arachnos Wasp.

-Giant Shivan crawling up from below.

-1:30 What is that green thing way up in the sky?

-Did it just call down a meteor strike?!?

    -Time Manipulation looking very cool.

    -New costume sets looking swank.

Like the Stealth set, they'll make for really good team uniforms for SGs who like to emulate X-people and such.

    No, I reject this.

'Heavy melee fighter' implies to me that both their offense and survivability are superior because the term 'heavy' can carry such connotations.

In the military, heavy tanks are the most armored, but they also carry the biggest guns.

'Heavy' attacks hit very hard, but are slow. That's not Tankers; their attacks are no slower than anyone else and hit weaker.

In this case, 'heavy' applies better to Brutes who are slower to get their damage out, but it hits like a train once it's brought to bear.

If you wanted to set the heavy, medium and light designations for Brutes, Scrappers and Stalkers respectively, that I can get behind.

And the term 'melee fighter' should not be anywhere near Tankers in their current form. Nothing about their offensive capabilities should be played up in the least. You wouldn't boast about Blaster survivability in their description.

Melee Crowd Control, Decoy, Spearhead, Arggo Control. Those are appropriate terms.
