Jay nodded to the hooded figure. He'd have to have all his wits about him if he were going to be of any use, so he mentally steeled himself and fell in behind Jayde. Breifly he looked around and wondered to himself. "Is this all were bringing?" and then moments later. "Oh.. right, heroes..." He shrugged and checked his gear, running through his checklist, still feeling the twinge of unpreparedness with out his gun.
-
Jay, hearing the man who had just entered, followed him over to the gathering group of Heroes. He reached back for Jayde's hand, feeling his heart pound in his chest at the thought of working these people. He worried slightly about his ability to keep up with them... But his new /help/ had increased his stamina by at least 10 fold, that, in addition to his repaired Piston Boots, which gave him spectacular jumping heights, he soon calmed himself down some. He peered at Jayde over his shoulder, curious as to what was running through her mind. He did one last mental checklist of his equipment before stepping before the group.
"Hello there, Officers Slayde *He motions to Jayde* and Scheller *Tips his hat* From the Paragon Police Academy. And if ya don't mind, were gonna tag along." All of this pours out in a heavy irish accent, it being very thick due to his nervousness. -
Jay glanced over to "Alle" "Heh, cool as a cucumber." he thought to himself. "Well, You ready?" He swung his door open and exited the car, quickly grabbing his duffle bag from the trunk. The bag seemed to get heavier every day, it contained his gun. He hadn't even fired it since his change, but felt bare without it. He made it about halfway up the car again before turning back. He decided to leave the gun, he had to learn to work without it. He reopened the trunk and removed the gun from the bag, placing it back in it's lock-box. Tossing the now much lighter bag over his shoulder he closed the trunk and moved around the passenger side, joining Jayde as they walked up to the Freedom Corps HQ's main doors.
They pushed inside and stopped, looking around unsure of where to go from here. -
Jay sped across town, a feeling of urgency gripping him. He glanced down at the GPS and plotted his next few turns before turning to Jayde. "I don't know what it is... but I'm on edge like you wouldn't believe. Maybe it's because I'm finally going to have a chance to prove not only myself.. but maybe we can show the city that the PPA/PPD /are/ useful.. Thanks to you that is."
He was referring to, of course, his new found powers. Since coming in proximity to Jayde, his body has undergone changes, changes that he is keeping quiet about. If his superiors knew of his ability to regenerate bones, limbs, and any number of other organic parts, they might bump him from being an officer and in to a Hero group of some sort. He did not want that. His father and grandfather had both been Police in Ireland, he was /not/ going to break that line. Infact the only two people that even knew were Jayde, and his kid sister Jessica.
"Know what I mean Alle?" He had given her the nickname Alle shortened from an irish word for beauty on their second date, Not only was it fitting, but it cleared up some confusion when speaking with people... Him being Jay and her Jayde after all.
Before she could answer he pulled into the lot near the Freedom Corps HQ. He looked out of the windshield at the building and shrugged slightly. "Well here goes, Aye?" -
Jay leaned over and opened the door for her as she quickly descended the steps of the Dojo. Once she was inside and her bag in the backseat he leaned over once more to give her a kiss before explaining the situation to her. "So we're on our way to Galaxy City to see if we can lend a hand. "
He sped off to the Freedom Corps HQ in Galaxy City. -
Jason "Jay" Scheller jumped from his chair in his office as he heard the message come across, finally trickled down from the PPD Main Office to them at the Paragon Police Academy. He took off out of the office with the newly painted "Lieutenant Scheller" on the door blurring slightly as he rubbed past it. He stopped briefly by the locker to snag his gear pulling it on as he took off down the hall.
"Jayde!" He pounded on the door! "Jayde hun! We've got a live one! lets go!" Waiting briefly he poked his head in her quarters and looked around. "Jayde?" The room was empty save for the sleeping form in the other bed. "Damn," He said quietly as he closed the door. "She must be at the Dojo." In a flash he took off running down the hall.
Jay jumped in a spare PPA squad car, and sped out of the garage making his way to Siren's Call. He flipped open his cell and pressed 2, calling Jayde. "Come on, pickup..." He knew she hated distractions while she worked out. "Voicemail, damn!. Jayde hun! If you get this I'm on my way to come pick you up! We've got a mission." He flipped the phone shut and drove on. -
"Look, I've told you... I need to find this woman, my mark, *points to the picture* and I need you to contact this Schayde lady to help me..." As he said it his mind ran over the past few conversations... slowly the tumblers fell into place. "Are... you telling me that this is Schayde?" *he pauses playing mental connect the dots from over the past day or so* "If this is her... then you must tell me how she is connected to my ***** of a mother." He said rather forcefully, hie eyes filled briefly with what might have ben concern.

Christy, Im going to go find out what is going on. If you come with, stay behind me. He gave her a look of concern.
Slowly Steel Sorrow staggered from the medical facility, intending to see just what was going on. He came upon the group, all of them very on edge. The White Wolf who carried Schayde in his arms <Who he have a concerned questioning look>. The large man whom had fought the robot with him had some poor fellow tossed in a headlock<Who he only assumed was the topic of the conversation by the way he was being regarded with glares and gestures>.
There were also several other people, some he recognized from the encounter in Steel Canyon. Others he was seeing for the first time, all standing there, ready to bolt at the drop of a pin. Steel Sorrow propped himself up against a wall and watched the situation play out, not sure if he had the strength to fight, or even if he knew who to fight But, he could always sort that out later. -
