  1. I've been away from CoX for quite some time but I am considering returning to the fold. I re-activated my account for a month to see if I can find a virtual home.

I have two main characters: a level 50 empathy defender and a level 47 ss/inv tanker. The defender is an oddball concept that would require a SG that is a nurturing environment for out-of-the-ordinary outsider types. The tanker is a very traditional hero type. Both are young characters.

I'm looking for people who love word-crafting. If elaborate /em poses and proper punctuation/spelling/grammar are important to you, I want to RP with you!
  2. I'd love to read any kind of review you'd care to post, IC or OOC. I've run through the arc twice now with a team, and taken some pretty extensive notes and made a lot of changes based on those runs. I'd be thrilled to hear any feedback, positive or negative, that you care to give.

    Thanks!
  3. I'd love to get feedback on my 3-mission story arc entitled The Servants of Man. It's geared for lower level characters, levels 1-14.

If it seems like people enjoy it, I might expand it into 5 missions. It was my hope to create something for lower level characters who are looking for something different than just sewer teams and farms.

  5. Supergroup Name: Local Gods

    Website: http://localgods.guildportal.com

    Leader or Recruiting Officers: Bojay

Preferred Method of contact: Applications can be posted on our supergroup forum located on our web page. Feel free to send in-game mail or a /tell if you have questions.

Guild Description: We will be your voice in this world!

The Local Gods is a supergroup composed primarily of young heroes. There is no formal age limit for membership in the group, but most members tend to be 25 and under. (NOTE: This is strictly an in character age guideline. Your actual real life out of character age has nothing to do with it, and is not important in regards to this guideline.)

They are a new breed of brazen young heroes who aren't afraid to get blood on their hands to get the job done. They are, however, above all things honorable and just. There are not reluctant antiheroes among the Local Gods' ranks. They tend to see the world in terms of black and white, good and evil, and they roll up their sleeves and get the job done!

    Immersive RP Policy:

The Local Gods is an immersive roleplaying supergroup on the Virtue server of the City of Heroes game. What do we mean by "immersive roleplaying" you ask?

    1. All members of the Local Gods are required to have a written character bio posted on our members-only forum. This bio does not need to be a Shakespearean work of art, it merely needs to show that you have made an effort to tell us about who your character is as a person or being.

    2. All members of the Local Gods are required to post at least one fictional post on the members-only forums each week. As with bios, these posts don't need to be literary masterpieces. Maybe one week you'll post a short journal entry written by your character, maybe the next you'll write a paragraph or two about something your character did "off camera," etc.

    3. With the exception of occassional brief messages, everything said on the Supergroup channel and Team channel should be IC (or "in character"). That means, rather than being spoken from the point of view of you as a player, it's spoken from the point of view of your character. Anything said in Supergroup or Team chat that is OOC (or "out of character") should be enclosed in parentheses (like this). We have a channel called "Local Gods OOC" that is strictly for out of character chatter, and supergroup members may choose whether or not to monitor that channel.

    4. When running missions, task forces, hunting, etc. as a group, we ask that you make some effort to be IC ("in character") while playing. There is no reason to rush madly through a mission, going from battle to battle like a hummingbird on crack. That's now how it happens in comic books. Feel free to interject wisecracks (if your character's personality fits that) between or even during battle, or to stop and rest after a particularly difficult fight and doing a little roleplaying before the next one (assuming it's not a timed mission), or shout some taunts at the bad guys.

In short, if telling a story and interactive legend building is not at least as important to you as leveling your character, then chances are the Local Gods is not the supergroup for you. As previously stated, you don't have to be an artist or even a particularly skilled writer to be a member. You can learn as you go with guidance from your fellow teammates. As long as you make an effort, chances are it will be good enough!
  6. Name: Young Champions of Paragon

    Website URL: http://www.guilduniverse.com/youngchamps

    Leaders: Bojay

Method of Contact: Contact Bojay in game (/tell or in-game email), or post on the guild message board

    Description:

We are the Young Champions, and we are always watching.

We bring light to the darkness, certainty to the doubtful, hope to the hopeless.

If a person can learn to devalue even a single life for a single reason, he can learn to devalue any life for any reason, and so we never leave the fallen behind, not ever, not for any reason.

We are the Young Champions, and we are always watching.

The Young Champions of Paragon (or simply the Young Champions) is a roleplay-heavy supergroup on the Virtue server of the City of Heroes game. Our SG allows any hero who is IC 18 years old or younger (IC mean In Character, meaning this membership restriction applies -only- to the actual character, not to the player playing that character).

Although, just as with most children and teenagers, the Young Champions of Paragon have their doubts and fears, they are first and foremost heroes. They believe deeply that evil can only be fought by unwavering good, by intense mental and physical commitment, and by the shared belief in friends and teammates. In short, there are no antiheroes among the Young Champions. Although sometimes, in the dark hours of the night, they may wonder if they really are making any difference at all, they never falter, never submit, never give up. They are the Young Champions, and they are always watching.

OOC Note: This is a brand new SG on the Virtue server. My hope is to develop a small, dedicated group of people who are interested in roleplaying their character, communal storytelling, and shared legend building. My goals for the group are as follows:

<ul type="square">[*]Camaraderie: City of Heroes is a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game. It differs from more traditional computer roleplaying games in that one must necessarily play in a virtual world populated by player-run characters. I believe that the finest experience in CoH can only be derived as a member of a team of friendly, mature, like-minded allies.[*]Cooperation: As in our real world, the virtual world of CoH contains many elements that vie for our resources. I believe firmly that the whole is greater than its parts, and that when teammates assist each other in matters of (virtual) finance, exploration, and combat the entire super group becomes stronger. When the group strengthens, each member also strengthens.[*]Creativity &amp; Characterization: All of human history is arguably defined by its storytelling and legend building. I am proceeding from the assumption that there are no real-life superheroes sitting at their computers playing this game who are endowed with the array of fantastic powers and devices that our characters are. We play CoH because the genre inspires us, because comic books have tugged at the primal emotions of readers since they first saw print. Although the panoramic vistas of the theatre of the mind can't fully be duplicated in a computer game (yet), I believe we can move closer to that ideal by delving into the hearts and souls of our characters. By creating a back story, and by regularly adding to that story on our members-only forums, more juice can be squeezed from the fruit so to speak.[*]Competition: The CoH game contains many PvP elements. I know that many players will wish to add the element of interplayer conflict to their gaming experience. While I firmly believe that sportsmanship and fair play are of central importance to any competition, I also acknowledge that winning is better than losing. We will assist each member of our team who is interested to excel and improve in the area of PvP combat.[/list]I purchased a premium membership at Guild Universe, which means the Young Champions of Paragon guild site will not contain advertising, and will offer its members many added features (such as character journals). There is zero out of pocket expense to members to use this service; I have assumed and will continue to assume this minor expense.

If you made it this far through my long, rambling post then this super group may be for you. Please contact me as per the information above.
