Thanks for clearing that up States, there was definitely a lot of mixed uproar.

Someone on Liberty went to another Con earlier this year and posted pictures of hitting Statesman with the nerfbat. The thread's died, so I can't link to it now, but it was pretty hilarious.
It's good fun, and I have a lot of respect for him. -

"Alright, heres the plan. The tank and scrapper are going to get Diabolique's aggro. The Defender is gonna debuff her. Blasters I want you to jump off that building then come in and alpha strike her. Got it? Alright lets go"

*cracks up* Thank you for my laugh of hte afternoon.
Anyway, I do hope that there isn't any change in the stores, at least not without a drastic revamp of how drops and contact buying/selling works.
As for 'Desperation', it sounds like a really interesting system. I'd like to see more on its technical aspects before making any judgments. It's nice that they're adding in these kind of inherent differences in the ATs. -
[ QUOTE ]
Funny how they mention non of the nerfs they do every issue... I keep hearing about tanks getting nerfed all over the place.
[/ QUOTE ]
Gah! Couldn't resist responding!
So anyway... the devs have said nothing about nerfing tanks, only that they would be looked at. You probably keep hearing about nerfing tanks frome paranoid players who believe the devs to be on a nerfing spree to wreck the playerbase... Or that they're on a nerfing spree out of incompetence and a mistaken view of what the players want or need.
*breathe* Okay. I feel better now. Go on, back to your discussion. -

Playing tonight I noticed how, on the Justice Server anyways, Atlas and Galaxy are like night and day. Atlas Park is bustling with activity and crowded with low level heroes, while Galaxy City is quiet and empty. Only a few heroes stand around the Back Alley Brawler, while a huge mob surrounds Ms. Liberty.
Any ideas why this is? And what can be done to make people want to go to Galaxy?
[/ QUOTE ]
Simple answer...boobies.....Liberity's got'em...Brawler doesn't..
[/ QUOTE ]
Wellll there's Galaxy Girl, which a lot of people miss. I guess you prefer looking up at Atlas' crotch -
I always start in Galaxy. It's quieter, and the layout is much much nicer. Everything you might need to fight is within reach of the central building and just a few steps off.
Atlas has those walls, the statue, walls, and drops, and bridges... It's just harder to get around, not to mention get where you're going.
I thought that Galaxy City would get more populated with the opening of the Arena, especially since that's how it was on Test, but then it wasn't. *shrug* I like Galaxy City as it is. Atlas Park is definitely hero central, but Galaxy City is the quiet secondary. -
Yayy, I've always been proud of KF's costume. It'd be so cool to have her in the comic or somesuch. Had a few shots with poses, but I think this is best as is.
Kinetic Force -
For superheroes... I look around the room I'm in. That's my inspiration at the time if I didn't get inspired beforehand. I look at particular objects, words, think about properties of those objects, anything at all.
Sometimes, a flip through the dictionary, or thesaurus, can make a great character. -

What do you mean "don't you have anything better to do?"? What, I'm not supposed to report bugs? Especially when we were asked specifically to report cases such as this one?
[/ QUOTE ]
Forum's about discussion, not bug reports. No offense or anything, but that's so.
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm... Okay. but I was discussing. Just happened to be bringing up a bug in the course of the discussion.
Tell me you're joking or something? Otherwise, I fear you've somehow left your brain at the door this morning.
[/ QUOTE ]
It IS Monday, but...
As much as "It is always better to post in an existing thread than start a new one" is true, I think this is old enough to warrant a new thread with quotes to the relevant points involved. -

Some of them, like Heracles or Aeneas, were the direct children of a God. Others however (the majority if I recall correctly), like Odysseus or Theseus were simply 'inspired' or maybe 'sponsored'.
[/ QUOTE ]
"And here comes Odysseus! Brought to you by Zeus, King of the gods! Single and lonely? Pray to Zeus!"
... Okay, you can have your thread back now. I'm done. -

Basically, I'm EXTREMELY picky with mythology. Trust me on that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Picky eh? Hmmm. My Mythology is casual at best (though I really do enjoy it). It probably means that Jack knows a bundle more than we do, to the point that when we DO find out what Statesman is... It's going to be an "Oooh ahhh" moment. -
Woo! Happy Birthday States!
Thanks for answering questions when you get the chance as well. -
[ QUOTE ]
That won't be much of a problem, so long as she lands next to a group of baddies. They'll fix that 1% pretty quick.

Funny, that happened to me within an hour of getting Hover on my first character... -

Destroyable Buildings?!
AEGIS phy ... what?
[/ QUOTE ]
Cryptic is currently working to add in improved graphics and physics with CoV (to also be added into CoH at some point in the future, but probably not at the same time CoV releases)
The AEGIS Physics Processor basically takes away the processing load of anything to do with physics off of your graphics card, considerably smoothing out the lag in games which employ this a lot (Think Half-Life 2).
The reason this wasn't worked on in CoH is because everyone uses the city, and with 140 000 people, you won't have a city very long if everything's destroyable. Within instanced missions however, this becomes possible since it affects no one else but you. Train missions I think came with Issue 1, and so now we have the scale, the instances...
Basically, CoV looks to have some limited form of physics implemented. CoH probably will in the undetermined future. With this, we'll have destroyable environments within instanced missions. -
Destroyable buildings in instanced missions?
Definitely the biggest thing I'm looking forward to. WOW. I mean, I'd accepted that we won't see this in the game because it just wouldn't work in the MMO setting but...
Wow I'm excited for this to be announced as being 'under way', let alone coming. With the AEGIS physics thing coming, that really looks possible. -
Yeah actually, some information about some of the contacts we have would actually be really cool. Azuria's a definite, if you can, but that one contact in the NW part of Indy Port... I can't remember his name exactly, the former hero who lost his powers, and used to be buddy-buddy with Hero 1. The last contact you talk to for the cape mission before goign in the instance. He was an interesting character, I'd like to hear more about him too.

Of course this thread was troll bait...and we caught one.
Hooray for us.

It'd better have pie. Lots of it. -

And I was AutoRPD from last April to March of this year. Same sig and avatar, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
I KNEW I recognized that avatar! Just not the name above it.
London.. the last I heard of him was around I3. I'm pretty sure I haven't heard anything of him since I3 launched at least. -
[ QUOTE ]
But man, there have been no bigger Yoohoo's on this board then London, PuffyShirt, Jetfire, and Dracula_X
[/ QUOTE ]
Mmmm oh that debacle on Liberty. You're lucky you didn't get mixed up in all the other now-locked-and-deleted threads there, many of which he had a hand in. Doomsayer he is not, Troll, that he very much is. By his own admission, though he didn't use the word. I'd give you quotes, but ahh, those were deleted. -

This whole post reminds me of zzMDude... I remember him saying that he didn't post any of his character, their sets, their stats, anything like that. Why? "Because I know how forum posters work."
[/ QUOTE ]
Pre-emptive defensiveness? Understandable, but given his history that's just trollish.
[/ QUOTE ]
lol... Mmmm... ZZ...
I think that literally half his posts that I've seen pissed me off...
"Your opinion sucks, and CoH is Doooooooomed!"
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, he wasn't bad at all. Cynical, but no doomsayer. As I remember him putting it, the reason he was outspoken, was because 1. He loved the game and wants to see it better, and 2. Because he knows the devs listen, and appreciates that.
I think he just doesn't post anymore. -

[ QUOTE ]
Either way..It's my opinion, like it or lump it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, dear, but lump.
No one would begrudge you your opinion. I don't think anyone here would deny you that.
By the same token, no one would begrudge you a right to post that opinion on a public forum.
It's more that if one were to take a look at your post history, it's more that you have a habit of couching those opinions as fact; you tend to presumptively speak on behalf of a lot of other folks; exaggerate issues in the game into enormous game-breaking problems; threaten to depart the game if your opinions aren't upheld; or blame others for your own perceived deficiencies in-game.
No offense, but all hallmarks of the kind of DOOOM!sayer that we take such delight in poking at in threads like this.
Seriously, if the game makes you this unhappy? Leave. No regrets. I'll even show you the door.

That was classic. So speaking of which... Where is he? -

My memory is a little shaky: who did the "Capes not available until level 20 will be the end of this game" rant in style?
[/ QUOTE ]
Jeebus, I don't remember who started it, but it was one of the longest threads ever at the time... Kraziness... -
[ QUOTE ]
Who was the guy with all the doom posts/flame threads during issue 3 being tested? He kept asking the devs to let us make game mods and such. Then he changed his name. Then he disappeared.
Edit: Backagain?
[/ QUOTE ]
Backagain definitely sounds familiar... I only vaguely remember one thread by him, but it was of that sort of thing. I think it kinda got lost amongst the Stoopid-Europeans threads...
