I made one called "Go Kill Skulz"
It is meant to be an alternative to doing a sewer run to lvl up your shiney new hero.
5 mission arc should get you to lvl 6-8, just in time to go to Kings Row and get your Rocket Pack.
[/ QUOTE ]
This mission arc rocks my world. I went in level 2 with other newbs, set to Rugged, and was level 6-7 within 2 missions. Went in a few days later with other similar level people, hit 10 in 2 missions.
I'm not sure I'll ever level another alt in the sewers or Hollows again. -
Keep in mind the crazy expensive ones are the task force rewards. That's part of why they cost the most. If you run a number of task forces, you'll eventually win some of the ones you want, or as in my case win something valuable you don't want and sell for a nice price.
(My highest guy is only 38 now, but a TF I did at 36 gave me an item I sold for 1 mil, which was quite nice for me considering I only have about 3-4 mil total.)

Remember though that my Doc Wounds is giving me a 15% recharge boost from IH, and the heals. Also, I found that too much recharge was breaking up the fluidity of my chain.

I'm curious, do you use Hasten with your Doctored setup?
One reason I'm leaning more towards Numina for +regen is because I've been away from the game a long time and I still miss Instant Healing as a toggle. I'm trying to recapture that a bit by maxing my Regen as much as I can... I don't have Reconstruction, I use Instant Healing as my emergency heal and rely on passive Regen to keep me alive otherwise. -
Linking this here since it's related and people reading this might want to read the other.
The discussion about slotting Health can apply to slotting Fast Healing instead of course. I just respeced my Katana/Regen, and decided to try dropping Stamina and taking Health.
I think my plan is instead of 6 slotting Fast Healing, I'll 3 slot both Fast Healing and Health using the 6 IOs you mentioned. Maybe a 4th in the one that gets the Numina set, for +heal.
So I lose the +5% heal set bonus, but still have all the other bonuses from the uniques and so on, but I gain Health's extra regen which is pretty darn nice to have on top of the rest...
I think for most of my powers I need to go Numina over Doctored. It's hard to make up my mind. But +12% regen per power, times 5 powers... that's 60% regen. It sure sounds like a big number.
IO slotting example: Health -
Now that I'm bringing my Katana/Regen scrapper out of I5 or so and into I9, I'm not sure about taking hurdle any more since I may skip Stamina, and Health is now quite nice for me (back in the old Instant Healing days you couldn't die so it didn't matter).
Am I right to assume that the Leap:Stealth power is better in Hurdle (if I take it) than anywhere else, because then it's always on whether I use CJ or SJ or nothing? I'm probably going to use your "Set IO slotting #8" for the 10% regen and 5% recharge. -
Man Scrap, this writeup has really been helpful and informative to me.
I've been away from the game a long time, played maybe 1-2 months the past year, but I9 is really getting me re-interested. When I did play most recently, it was with some of my other toons.. not my highest level Katana/Regen scrapper (only 36, but I have 20+ guys over level 10, must focus!). I have an Issue 5 or so spec now... 6 slots in Quick Recovery and Stamina, Instant Healing with -End, etc. I've been playing him this way for old times sake, and he's still decent.
Thanks to your post what I've decided to do is drop Stamina, and go with "Set IO slotting #2, recovery:" instead. I won't give up a whole ton of recovery (heck, my 1xAcc 5xDam powers could use -End now) but I gain a nice load of extra +Regen beyond what I had before.
Great stuff. -
Decided to go with teleportation pool. Teleport Foe is pretty cool and fun to use and works great. I've used teleport before as primary travel power and like it. Hopefully group teleport does okay.
-
Does I7 still have the same problems with Group Fly and henchmen dropping out/falling behind? I can't decide on what travel power I want to go for. :/
-
I rather enjoyed this guide too, good job.
I've been thinking about making yet another toon. I have around 25 heros and 3 villains. Was thinking about an Ice/Stone or Stone/Ice tanker. However, after reading this, I decided to give Stone/Stone Brute a try. So far it's really quite fun!
Thanks for taking the time to make a guide. -
The emailed the domain name owner to try and track down the author, turns out he didn't have a backup copy. I don't know if the guy even plays CoH any more, but can't imagine he'd let it disappear if he did. Man that tool rocked. I had offered to host it on my site if he didn't want to bother any more, but alas.

I couldn't make the simple approach work, but using the two file technique I came up with this:
deflection.txt:
shift+1 "+ $$teamselect 1$$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
shift+2 "+ $$teamselect 2$$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
shift+3 "+ $$teamselect 3$$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
shift+4 "+ $$teamselect 4$$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
shift+5 "+ $$teamselect 5$$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
shift+6 "+ $$teamselect 6$$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
shift+7 "+ $$teamselect 7$$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
shift+8 "+ $$teamselect 8$$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
b "+ $$powexecname deflection shield$$bind_load_file J:\insulation.txt"
insulation.exe:
shift+1 "+ $$teamselect 1$$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
shift+2 "+ $$teamselect 2$$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
shift+3 "+ $$teamselect 3$$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
shift+4 "+ $$teamselect 4$$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
shift+5 "+ $$teamselect 5$$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
shift+6 "+ $$teamselect 6$$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
shift+7 "+ $$teamselect 7$$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
shift+8 "+ $$teamselect 8$$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
b "+ $$powexecname insulation shield$$bind_load_file J:\deflection.txt"
I added in the b for bubble so I could also bubble other non-team targets, or bubble based on clicking like usual instead of team slot number. -

Buffing Your Entire Team Quickly
ff.txt
shift+1 "+ $$teamselect 1$$follow$$powexecname deflection shield$$powexecname insulation shield"
[/ QUOTE ]
This doesn't seem to work for me. It adds Insulation Shield on keypress, but does nothing on keyrelease.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have the same/similar problem. When I press it casts the shield, but when I release instead of putting the other shield in queue, it queues the one already being cast. So I end up double casting the same one each time. -
Hey thanks for writing this up, I think people will find it useful. I've used DA all along with my scrapper, he's about lvl 26 now. I've always been extremly tough but never really thought about why. My DA is on auto-attack, I have it on my alt bar so I don't even think about it, I just hit my normal attacks and DA fires while they refresh or I'm distracted doing other things. I have it slotted with 1 ACC and 2 DEF right now. That's probably a big reason why I do so well.
I was thinking about adding more slots to combat jumping (1 slotted right now), but perhaps I should add another def buff or two to DA instead?
I have integration slotted with two SO end reducers. I don't have stamina but I'm starting to regret that. I might respec or just start taking the fitness pools at 28. Now that I have Soaring Dragon, I can attack almost endlessly without turning on Haste, so it eats my end a good bit. Plus I run Integration and CJ all the time, with IH to come in a few more levels...
I wonder, should I be slotting Integration with heal instead of end reduce?
