  1. With Hurdle or Combat Jump, you can window hop really fast up the buildings in Kings Row, faster than getting up there with hover. The trick to jumping from one window to the window above it is to press jump first then hit forward. Once you get the hang of it, you can forget about looking for fire escapes.

also, i saw someone doing a bow and arrow emote, where he would shoot an invisible bow and arrow, he wouldnt tell me the emote, think someone could look into this? maybe its the japanese name or something?

You have to have a weapon drawn (Assault Rifle, Sword, etc.), then type ;bow.

My girlfriend's burn tanker goes through Endurance like crazy, and I noticed that she often forgets to turn off Sprint before getting into the thick of things. I'd like to set it up so that Sprint is only active while actually moving, and I thought it'd be pretty easy. So, I changed her keybinds file thusly and tried it out:

    W "+forward$$+powexec_name Sprint"
    S "+backward$$+powexec_name Sprint"
    A "+left$$+powexec_name Sprint"
    D "+right$$+powexec_name Sprint"

But instead of being blown away by my coolness, I got this error with each:

    Usage:
    powexec_name takes 1 args, you gave 2.
    ...

I thought about it and realized why this doesn't work, but I'd still like to implement the same functionality. Does anyone have any idea as to how I can pull this off? I wanna score points with her, and this is easier than cooking italian. 8-)

Remove the + on the powexec_name on each line, and it should like you want. So using your examples they should instead be:

    W "+forward$$powexec_name Sprint"
    S "+backward$$powexec_name Sprint"
    A "+left$$powexec_name Sprint"
    D "+right$$powexec_name Sprint"

Hope that helps you...um score?! LOL
  4. And not being allowed in Restaurants, Warehouse Raves (unless we are called to kick out trolls), and Bowling Alleys. I know they're open, I see citizens run into those places all the time...the doors are just locked to superheroes. Heck, this protest has to be held in a frickin' coal dump. FIGHT THE POWER!!! Oh wait...we're the power....FIGHT THE NON-POWERS!!!
  5. Character Name: The Soul Keeper
    Server: Guardian/Pinnacle
    Archetype: Magic Scrapper (Dark/Dark)
Inspiration: The Soul Keeper was made about 10 years ago. He was mainly inspired by the movie "Highlander". I was wondering what it is that Conner Mcloud got when he killed other immortals. I assumed he got the their life experiences and skills. It gave me an idea for a hero. One that takes ones life into him at the moment of death (but didn't go out and kill people like Mcloud did). Then when I was working out the moral and psychological implications of this, and I came up thinking that he would basicaly be the ultimate schizophrenic, only that he had real people inside of him. Then the movie "Being Inside John Malkovic" came out, and I thought hey that was my idea...lol.

    Character Name: Vectorman
    Server: Guardian/Pinnacle
    Archetype: Tech Controller (Illusion/Force Field)
Inspiration: Playing Soul Keeper is fun and all, but I wanted to make a character that better represented the RL me: A video game/comic book/computer nerd that wanted to be a superhero. I wondered how such a person could do this in the COH world, when (while I was playing) a really twisted idea came to my head: What if I made a COH hero that fought crime by basically playing COH? (Edit: Come to think about it, maybe a book I once read called "The Ender's Game" probably had influenced the concept). Thus Vectorman was born (after three name variations: Raster [too ambiguous], Rasterman [sounded like he was from Jamaica], and Vector [would have been too similar with another character I play with often])!
  6. The big drawback that takes consideration is dealing with the name problem. We already are allowed 8 names per account, and already theres alot of sUperHerOes and Super.Heroes and Superheroes1023. Imagine the havoc when people are allowed 16 names. Its not that everyone would be named Bob Jones, but people may use the secret identities as an exploit to reserve names for themselves for future alts while they test out or work on their current ones (most of the players I know already do that using their current 8).

The only solution I guess would be to force the player to use up another of their 8 slots if they want a secret identity for their hero. Thus allowing only a maximum of 4 characters with secret identies. Then you'll have people whining that they're now losing out on content cause they refused to abide by this term, as already have more than 4 characters they play with.
  7. I think secret identities would be a good way to deal with a lot of the prejudices we get as superheroes. We can't eat in the restaurants, go bowling, nor are we allowed at the bars to pop off a few (probably for the best for a drunk super powered person would be as bad as a drunk behind the wheel of a car). Their reasoning is probably superheroes attract too much unwanted attention from villains, and the battles may cause havoc in the place. However, this segregation has to either stop, or we get secret identities so we can have some leisure time away from our daily grind of fighting crime.

P.S. I'm just joking by the way (before people think I'm whining). But I think it might be a good way to introduce some mini games, or allow heroes to more social environments outside of Ms. Liberty (who's gotten very popular), as well as attain new contacts for missions (per your job at the newspaper, or some such).
