  1. I got a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it, had no problem installing the game, nor any issues running it, but every time I go to launch the game from the shortcut I always get the Windows 7 message as to whether I want to "allow this computer to make changes to the system". This doesn't happen with WoW or CO, so I'm wondering what I can do to get Win 7 to not ask me this every time for CoH.

    Thanks in Advance!

    Ok thats it

Your post is filled with valid and generally well known issues/complaints. The problem is, as always OSHA, you state your observations and opinions as fact, with omniscient phrasing that indicates you believe that your point of view is held by a majority of the community. You perceive that you leaving the game somehow indicates the true despair of most of the players.

At last count the game had around 150,000 subscriptions according to the financial reports filed and quoted on the wiki. Then of those people the ones who actually feel the game has reached a dire state that renders it unworthy of their subscription fees, is fairly small. The truth is you are little more than just another subscriber (albeit with many accounts).

I had so many conversations with you and Destiny back in my time with the OSHA Academy trying to get you to see your opinions were just that, opinions, and not even very important ones because they are almost always self-serving. The phrase I was always responded to with was "you have to understand" then you would go about bending truths and facts to fit your arguments.

I'm happy that you've finally come to the point that you can let the game go. It had to have become very unhealthy for you, at one point you had, what, 8 accounts or more. Some were given to you, others you subscribed to, heck you even bought one for Destiny at one point. Your consistent need to do things like kick people out of channels, bad mouth those people that dared to have a differing opinions to your own, and even to try and fuel the bad mouthing towards other members of the Infinity community. Everything you ever felt you did good for the community always came with the caveat that you needed other people to recognize your greatness and hand in it. PERC, Hami, the old ISC, these things you took supposed pride in having a leadership role in (or were the true man in charge of according to you) were all exposed to the wrath of your condemnation (though completely worthless) when they went on without you and CoX will be the same. This need to tell everyone on the Forums why you have deemed now the time for you to take your leave of the game, it's narcissim at it's finest, and I for one have found great enjoyment in watching you burn your bridges within the Inifnity community.

Indeed it's funny that the very post that gets purged and becomes your last straw is actually a post made up of primarily information you learned from other players during the Beta of the Hami changes and the first few Freedom runs. Once again I was there when you talked about all the stuff you learned and was shocked you posted it as your Guide.

Good luck in your future endeavours.

And by the way my marriage to Mish is still valid in California since it was pre-Prop 8.. so back off!

  4. I can see it now. "Hey why don't you go grab your main tank and we will help this guy get his MoSTF badge" - "Sorry I can't I'm working on a badge so I can't actually log in and play, or it will take me too long to get it". /sigh

Badges should be about showing your commitment to the game. It's about getting rewards for your hard work and dedication not to mention patience in farming completely annoying tasks. This idea rewards you for the exact opposite. Don't play, don't help people out and, certainly don't run a heal farm night after night to get Empath or an Illusionist farm and we'll reward you for your lack of effort.

I knew we were heading down the wrong path with the silliness of crafting badges which require you to make thousands of IOs even though a vast majority of them won't get used. But this is going even further down that wrong path.

Day Jobs should be about helping people with limited time keep up with those people who have more time to spend in-game. It's clear the Devs are playing WoW and Eve Online because these ideas are pulled straight from those games, heck the double-xp buff is EXACTLY what happens in WoW right down to the Blue XP bar to indicate how much double XP you've earned.

You have so many opportunities to take what others games do and turn it up a notch or provide a unique spin, certainly the additional buffs and rewards are a great idea, but you need to seriously reconsider what you feel is an acceptable time table and/or farm requirement to get these things. After all, it's suppose to be about gameplay.. not craftplay or loggedoutplay
