For the "big" teams (settings for 7 to 8 people), on most missions, all spawns in a map contains 2 bosses.
This includes of course the last spawn, with the named boss (well, except the rare missions with Archvillains).
Basically, the fight versus this last spawn isn't different from the 20 or more previous fights in the map. Only difference : chat bubbles from that named boss.
So finally, you've just defeated another boss (with his unnamed twin brother)
It would be really nice if, for big team settings, the named boss could be upgraded to an Elite Boss.
That could add some challenge to each mission ("now comes the real fight"), and fighting the last spawn could feel less like grinding for a standard steam-rolling team. Could also bring an "achievement feeling", since this spawn was special to fight (not just another standard spawn which ends the mission).
This is already possible with the Architect.
However, that would really be cool if the Devs could make that for all missions (eventually adding an option "named bosses are elite bosses" in the Enhanced Difficulty Options).
Going further, that Elite Boss could use :
- design&powers from another existing Elite Boss in the same faction (Baron Zoria or Blade Prince in a CoT map,...);
- just a new design, to not lure people away from some Story-Arcs including EBs with unique powers. That design could be just slightly different from the regular boss appearance (red shirt instead of purple shirt), meaning he's a little more important than others (hey, he also has a name !!!), but he still needs to gain more power later;
- let's be crazy, a totally new EB (design&powers) for each faction !
