Given the frequency with which people die in Sooner's stories (and my own) it is within the realm of possibility he might not survive this adventure.
Afterall, I might need room for more toons on Protector, lol. -

Lions and tigers and bears! Oh my!
The poo has been flung...
The fan is on 'high'...
Oh the fun is about to begin! -
Hawkwood, love your sig, lol.

Quote:Perhaps you didn't see the post by Black Pebble saying basically exactly the same thing that GG said, in a lot more words.
PS; Black Pebble works at Paragon Studios/NCsoft Marketing.Quote:You're wearing white after Labor Day. It's SO in to disregard her posts and make fun of her, even when she's being a valid and worthy contribution to a discussion.
You want to be in, don't you?
No one can recall all they've read in a given thread, especially when they are as massive as this one. Quoting previous posts, in part or whole, and links to information referenced actually speed up the dialogue process by reducing or elimating the need for anyone to explain the origins of other's posts. -
Quote:Ah, you're psychic mastery of space and time allowed you to "see" the Devs in their meeting place deep within Mount Doom. Bravo. No - at thet time they wrote it, they're weren't aware that one retailer was going to suggest/ask for some in-game items as an exclusive.
Seriously, you never learn. Just because you assume you know something does not make it fact, and presenting it as often and loudly as you can doesn't make it so either. -
Quote:A very good point, Rastafari-Man made a similar point when I was ranting to him earlier. And here we see that NCSoft can never win. People have been screaming bloody murder for marketing to do something to promote the game. Now we get that wish, with a major retailer and a peripheral seller getting involved, and all people can do so far is carp and whine.
-
I posted, hoping against all odds, that we might get even the slightest clarification about release. Initially we were told "July"... then a week or two ago a friend pointed out a change on the Going Rogue FAQs to "Summer"... now I've learned a retailer's release date is "September". Granted, this is not a hard street date, I understand that. Nevertheless, it would be grand to know what the Devs are thinking.
I'm not asking for an exact date... but, could we know a month? The Devs put out "July" and it that's changed, fine, say so. Info being available from NCSoft websites and their retailers that varies from July, to Summer, to September (which is Fall I don't care which calender you're using) leads to speculation and confusion.
Please Ocho (et al), think of the children and throw us a bone here. -
-
So, Gamestop's computers have September for the release of Going Rogue.
Please Ocho, say it ain't so. -

Very true
Still...
...he doesn't have to win, he just has to keep her in the dark. Looks like this could be the longest hour of his life. -
Conall must need two wagons and eight Sherpas to carry his %@&&s around.
That is one hardcore crazy dude. -
Mr. Grey, it seems you've missed some of Sooner's subtle hints and clues about Daddy Campbell's own moral ambiguity. Mr. Wagner and his men aren't Paul Blart, Mallcop and Daddy Dearest isn't Ward Cleaver. I suppose it's a good thing that Sooner's writing inspires readers to think about what's happening, but rest assured you do not yet have the full picture. Your worries and speculation will be wiped away soon enough. Now I'm done talking about this and getting back to enjoying the story.

A couple things to keep in mind with regard to this installment of the story...
- Seamus was spirited away in the deep of the night, and Vir was intentionally left "out of the loop". He's rightly profoundly frustrated, that sense is heightened when Tina Mac rebuffs him, and further still when Lauren stonewalls him. Think about some of the "worlds" we've visited via Portal Corp buildings... not very nice vacation spots indeed.
- Vir's outburst, while shocking, is not so extraordinary. How might any of us react while searching for a loved one? Yes, he is a Hero and that means there are limits and expectations on his behavior, but he is also a man, a man who feels passion, rage, frustration, and even fear.
- Lastly, the confrontation between Vir with his ghostly companions and Campbell Security. Vir expected to find out where Daddy Campbell took Seamus and leave immediately to retrieve him, so it only made sense that he'd bring back up. He also knows Daddy Campbell employs "supers" for his security personnel. He also knew full well that his return to Campbell Tower would bring considerable attention from said security. Having back up actually improves the stability and safety of everyone involved.
How, you ask?
- Vir alone could put up a considerable fight in the search for answers about where his brother was taken and why. In that fighting, people would be injured and some would likely be innocent bystanders. (Ironic considering Seamus was wounded in a very similar fashion). But, having high-powered back up makes forcing Vir to leave an unacceptable option. Like Lauren said, he wasn't going to hurt her, but if security "opened fire", that escalation of violence would likely lead to consequences none of them wanted.
- So, Vir did the reasonable thing in bringing capable back up to help him find out where his brother is and to set about to bringing him home safely. In Vir's mind, Seamus is better off dying at home than converted into a Titan, a Ruin Mage, or even a Shivan.
One parting thought to keep in mind, Sooner's more than a good bit from done with this story, and I have it on good authority there are loads of twists, turns, and surprises yet to come. -
Every time we think we've reached the top, Sooner finds another gear and soars ever higher. I have a small hand in creating this story and it's blowing me away!
Great stuff Sooner.
And, anyone else notice the two times Vir allowed his companions to move without being detected? -
Hahahahahahaha!
While checking my email today, I found this...

This is obviously a scam, I've emailed it to the folks who need to know about it, but I found it so sadly comical I wanted to share a bit of it with y'all. Seriously, if they (the bad guys) want to rip us off, a [insert foreign language here] to English dictionary might come in handy. Anyway, watch your backs, and wallets, folks. -
Good people to listen to with regard to successful Master of... runs would be:
Impyre
Kidengineer
Rastafari-man
I've run a couple dozen Master of.... runs for the aforementioned TFs and SFs, almost every one of them was with one of these gentlemen.
My own two cents is, Defense and DeBuff are critical. Rad, Dark, Kin, and even FF are very valuable sets to have along. Since you can find these spread out over several ATs, this gives you decent latitude in putting your team together.
For STF, the fewer melee types the better, otherwise you risk prolonging the Ghost Widow fight. Oh, and speaking of GW, make sure you have some way (Clear Mind, Thaw, etc) to combat her incredible hold magnitude.
Other than that, best of luck to you and have fun. -
Well, they need time to test, including beta testing.
Previously they stated beta testing participation would be broken into three segments, and that alone will take time. Not to mention if they opt to further spread out the pace at which people are invited to join beta testing, or have to change their plan altogether. But, they'd probably tell us if they had to make a shift like that. Probably. -

Corrected for grammatical accuracy.
To address your point, waiting is fine unless of course you were interested in playing Dual Pistols or Demon Summoning before July. However, as it is already mid-May, I suspect more and more people will hold off prepurchasing GR. I posted simply to provide a clear answer to the question of just how much the Item Pact was going to cost. -
I recall great gnashing of teeth and angst over Going Rogue prepurchase and the specifics of the "Complete Collection", well Ocho posted this a little bit ago...
How much will the Complete Collection Item Pack cost?
For players who wish to purchase the Complete Collection Item Pack separately, the Item Pack has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $6.99 USD (€5.99 / £4.99). The Complete Collection Item Pack will only be available digitally, through NCsoft.com
For those who do not recall, the Complete Collection includes these extras...
• Alpha- and Omega-themed auras
• Alpha and Omega themed costumed sets
• Four stance emotes
• The Shadowy Presence invisibility power -
Quote:my assumption is that the 20 is the screenshot count for that day?
sooo the 20th screenshot taken on 5-17-2010Quote:MoLGTF%20-%2005-17-10.png
Run it through this website.
The percent sign in an url is an indicator to decode the next 2 characters as a hex(?) character. %20 translates to a space. So that really decodes to "MoLGTF - 05-17-10.png". May 17th, 2010.

So, again, I get it now, where I was incapable of understanding it previously.
And to the charming sniper out there, I shant dare to make an error here again.
10,000 apologies.
