Hey DeeDee, you're very brave, heh
Just looking at the guidelines for what constitutes acceptable art mediums for this. Does 3d Art meet the requirements? -
K, here's my latest one. Told you British Hero might make an appearance, and after the time i spent doing that texture map for the car it's a good job he turned up, lol!! British Hero's costume itself is also a completely new custom texture map but unfortunately you can't see the detail i put into the blue and white undersuit in this pic, maybe he'll show you himself...
As always, please enjoy and thanks for looking. (and fullsize are always on my DA site)

Haha, that's brilliant Rockmar, cheers
You're spot on too, he does need a B.A. toggle as he's just too nice otherwise. Strokes puppies and things... daisy chains... drinks white wine spritzers...

Wow, that's great! You're really improving LimeD.
You'll find a lot of artists (me included) when doing their lines sometimes use a pathing tool. Basically you plot each end of the line, drag the line inbetween to the desired curve shape and then let the software stoke a nice smooth curve. Not all artists i hasten to add, i lot can just draw lovely smooth accurate curves by hand.../sniff.
It's always worth practicing them manually too though imo. Just draw two dots on your paper/tablet and practice doing one single quick stroke, beginning and ending as close to the dots as you can. When you do it slowly that's when it goes a bit shakey. Hope that helps a bit -
Haha Chris! You cheeky... erm... monkey!
They're both to do with the lamp post. The worst one is i've totally forgotten to light the side of the post we can see in the reflection. In reality the light from the lamp would reflect in the plate glass and light that side of the post quite brightly. Annoying as i've lit the reflected image of the car and of Atomic Flux, totally forgot the lamp post, stupid careless error. The other smaller but equally careless mistake is that we can just see the right hand face of the lamp itself, but there's no light coming out of it, grrr
And of course the most horrendous mistake, and the one i think Chris is alluding to, i've completely forgotten to add his character, hehe -
CR is absolutely right, once you get your pets, Illusion control is a blast. My Illusionist, Chance, is an Illusion/Kin too, as i had the same worry as you that he'd be low on dmg, so Kin boosts that nicely. His earlier on powers are not to be sniffed at tho, not high dmg but incredibly versatile. I was on a posi1 with a team once and we just kept wiping over and over on the shadows of us at the end, people were saying, 'it's impossible, i'm quitting, blah blah'. I said, 'right, gimme 10 minutes, i can solo this, and slowly but surely i managed to defeat the lot of them with my deceives, confuses, invis, spec wounds, etc... was a proud moment but also made me go, wow, this AT is really quite good, and all at the reduced posi level of 10!
Not trying to blow my own trumpet here, just saying you should stick with it mate, at least till you get pets, see how it works out then, i love my Illu/kin tho...
And here he is to say, 'Top 'o' the mornin' t'yer'.

GAH!!! lol.
That was exactly the debate i was having with myself, i even did a version with the window smaller and stone walls showing on either side, but decided it just looked too busy around the boarder and took your eye away from the subjects. Ah well, win some lose some
As we're talking about it, can anyone spot the two mistakes i noticed after posting it... one is horrendous, the other... less horrendous -
ahh ha! it's late, i'm slow... actually time has no bearing on that...
-
Haha Chris, you would say that
It's the good old red, white and blue you can be sure
check out along the curve of the front and rear wings, you can see the pattern doesn't match up, that's what i need to work on. Although doing LimeD's costume has really given me some pointers on blind matching the seams... but there's got to be an easier way than this, surely... dressmakers, talk to me -
gah, just realised i'm giving away my secrets, painted on heels...
-
Hehehe, you know what? That kind of reaction makes me post this test render i did whilst learning how to do mirrors...

Nothing Sylly about that DD, that's a brilliant tutorial, and absolutely brilliant work. You're a real talent
One thing i want to mention, you say about most your time is taken with the blending/bluring, do you have a Gaussian Blur feature on PSPro? It's a feature that will blur a large selected area for you, it's no good for details, those still need doing manually, but for areas like the cheekbone blending, a couple of clicks and it's blended. It's not for everyone tho, and you might already be aware of it, just thought i'd mention it -

Cheers Caem, just need to fine tune it a bit, the paint job that is... the car's fine ;P
And not at all DD, i've actually got loads of ideas for texture files i want to do and that all involves lots of 2d painting. But i know what you mean, and i'll defo be continuing with the drawing, it's just at the moment, this is shiney and i can't get enough of it
Speaking of which, this happened...
A thank you to LimeD for the art she had comissioned of Timehack and H3, much appreciated. Fullsize is on my DA account if you'd like the download LimeD -
sticky this please.... what?
-
EUREKA!! I did it!
Managed to create my first ever texture file. It's not perfect by a long shot. The join along the wings is mismatched and the central red stripe is too thick, but for a first attempt, i'm quite happy
. A bit of tweeking with the patterns and i think British Hero's debut into the 3dArt world is imminent...
Now, about that robot... -
Yikes, time for his annual check-up already? H3 gets very nervous around robotic engineers!!
Heh, Grats on the art LimeD, it's brill! And thanks again for featuring H3, love the techniques the artist has used for the metal and the reflections in the floor. Good one -
No Fair!! The nearest i got to training in traditional native warfare at school was... making a towel holder in woodwork

I knew it! You can't resist the shiny
Hehe, guess you're a bit like me. As for tutorials, it's what i'm living on at the moment. Food and sleep is for losers, lol... to be honest there's loads of them, but 2 that stand out are the Daz3d forums and Greywulf, the forum is just a treasure chest on it's own tbh. As well as tutorials they both also point you at some nice free content... free is good... free is a price i like
http://forum.daz3d.com/
http://greywulf.net/tag/tutorial
and funny you mention modelling, one of the reasons i decided to pursue this 3d malarky was to learn how to model my own stuff, specifically, a certain spikey robot known as H3
edit: ahh, a tip! One of the biggest problems i had was actually adding and then finding content. If you have a prob too, drop me a PM and i'll give you a step by step guide, it's quite long winded tho, so not for posting here i guess -
Ahh, DD, you've opened the can of worms for yourself now, lol. I also originally got DS4 just for the figure forming as i'm not very good at hands, or musculature, or... drawing... but the more i played with it, the more i wanted to learn. The other day i was at the stage where i decided my scenes didn't look very good because i didn't know how to light them properly, now i've learn't the smallest tip of the iceberg on lighting and decided the surfaces weren't reflecting the light correctly, skin, metal, hair all looked the same texture... Then today, i discovered texture shaders.
Oh. My. God. Cya in about 3 years time when i've worked them out, lol -
Hi guys, here's my entry for the December art jam. I like Christmas and this piece kind of sums up what i like about it. It's not the giving and receiving of presents, it's not the celebrating in the bosom of the familes we love, it's not doing the religious thing either...
Nope, it's getting hammered on silly drinks that are only EVER drunk at Christmas, going to some dodgy Christmas party, and snogging someone you shouldn't be snogging... ahh, Christmas
Merry Christmas, H -
