Whats happening here is based on the fact that CoH stores all graphical/audio settings in the computer's Registry. There is not any sort of config or ini or prefs file stored in the actual CoH directories. Whats happening is that when you adjust the settings on Copy 2, it writes that info to the registry, which is then read in by Copy 1 when you re-launch it. How to get around this ? no idea.
Also, if you are wanting to skip the updater (I think thats what you are asking?), you would create a shortcut to CityofHeroes.exe, and modify the shortcut by adding "-project coh" to the Target box, so it looks like:
"C:\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh
where C:\City of Heroes\ is wherever you have it installed, should be present in the Target box already. Also note the space between the " and the -, and the lack of quotes around the -project coh (common errors)

-Do you use any routers, hubs, or switches? If so, could you tell us the make and model of that equipment?
-Who is your Internet service provider?
-Where are you located? Your city and state/province would be helpful.
-Are you on a home, campus, business, or military network?
-Are you using a firewall application? If so, which one?
-Do you use any Internet Security Applications (ISA) such as CYBERsitter, "Net-Nanny," ZoneAlarm®, McAfee® or Norton?

Nthing the "Can hardly play on East coast servers, West coast is fine" complaint. Netgraph is infested with red lines.
That's with me just standing idle under Atlas in Atlas Park.

Problem: "A red spike nearly every 2-5 seconds, resulting in an extreme of lost packets. Although I am able to stay connected, I experience jittery NPCs/players, delayed animations, completely failed animations and twitchy enemy mobs after they have been defeated."
Netgraph says my ping is in the 180-200 range. I tried tracerouting to Liberty, but apparently traceroutes fail when tracing to a City of server. Gets as far as Chicago then dies.

The person who referred me to this thread stated that the next hop after pccwbtn.net should be Liberty, or something else (a router/gateway) under NCSofts control.

If any of you are wanting to put up a signature picture, be aware that this function is apparently broken or bugged currently. You have to upload your picture somewhere (ie Imageshack or personal hosting) and make sure it is 600x120 max size or 140kb, whichever comes first. You then link to it in your signature as [img]http://url.to.picture.here[/img].

I'd call this a combo of subjective/objective....
What was the logic/though process behind creating the Javelin's Volley IO set and making it a PvP set, when (IMO) its demand for PvE will far outstrip its PvP demand ?
Here's my reasoning:
At some point in the past, the devs apparently decided that certain PBAoE IO sets weren't very well suited for "nuke" type powers, such as Nova and Inferno, probably because they had set aspects that are somewhat less useful to nukes, such as End Redux and Range. Why put End Redux in a power that will eat all your End anyway ? And also, these sets lack significant amounts of Recharge.
Thus were created the sets "Obliteration" and "Eradication". Both sets are purely Accuracy, Damage, and Recharge, with exactly one IO offering a bit of End Redux.
But why were no equivalents to Obliteration and Eradication created for Targeted AoEs, such as Full Auto, Rain of Arrows, and Thunderous Blast ? We now have a situation where IO sets are available for the nukes only in certain Blaster sets.
But now we have Javelin's Volley - which is (surprise!) pretty much a clone of Obliteration/Eradication, but for Targeted AoEs. The fact that this is a PvP set will ensure a low supply of this set, while the demand for it will probably be very high and very constant.
My request then is for the devs to create a pair of non-PvP origin sets equvalent to Obliteration/Eradication for Targeted AoE.
