  1. All stats and such aside tho. Man that has got to be fun. Slap a hasten in that badboy with siphon speed, a recharge or two in your attacks, i mean wow. You'd be pouring lead all over the pavement! Sure its not a blaster. But can a blaster just go ape-crazy blamming everything he sees then just run up and refill his endurance. Im geeking out just thinking about it. This seems like one of those builds that isnt really uber. Isnt really perfect. But way more fun that say a FF/sonic and such. Not saying ff isnt fun.....well...I am. But thats just me. This sounds like a Fun Taco dipped in extra spicy Fun Sauce. Keep up with that toon man. I'd group with ya any time just to watch the bullets fly.
  2. Thanks so much for the guide! The sections on usage of deceive were especially informative! I struggled for several months trying to find a character that really fits for me. So what I did was start reading some of better guides out there and yours really stood out. Im at around 40 now on my ill/rad and although the idea of perma PA sounds really awesome, I think id have just as much fun without it. Ill shoot for your near perma, no need to break the bank, and just have fun with it. Thanks so much for showing the builds as you level as well. Most guides I see out there seem to have just the level 50 purpled out version available to us new players who know nothing about the AT yet. Again, great guide. I think you've helped a new player greatly find the class that's really meant for him and I appreciate it.

Awesome, man. I mean, is it ideal? Maybe. Is it fun as all heck? Absolutely. And thats the point really. This game is not really that hard, its more about having fun. And that sounds like crazy fun. Damage capping your AoE machine gun fire? Awesome. Me? I'd keep one build for a balanced mix of powers for team stuff or TFs, and then on build 2 just go crazy fun with some high powered high speed machine gun frenzy! I may just alt out as soon as I get off work after reading your post man. Have fun with it!
  4. You are so right. I had a hard time with my PB as well until SOs, but I guess thats the case with all ATs you're not used to. Heck, my pb is sitting around lvl 39 at the moment and I have a great time playing him. I dont go the whole all human route or even tri form. I run a simple nova/dwarf setup when i can tank or blast and just enjoy all the class has to offer. It gets to be a ton of fun just customizing the character to what I enjoy doing as opposed to a min/max perfect build. PB is great for that since you have several different options on how you want to play it. Im glad you stuck with it. Kheldians are tons of fun.
  5. Its important, in my opinion, to find other ways to contribute when running your Emp defender. When your team really clicks you're gonna find yourself healing less and less. In those situations you want to make sure to keep up on your buffs (Hasten really helps there) and then busy yourself with your secondary. /dark blast is a great one for that since you get tenebrous tentacles for cone aoe immob and nightfall for cone aoe damage, kinda a fun combo and adds some -acc to the targets which adds to the defense of your team. Alot of the defender secondarys have extra effects that really add up to damage mitigation that kinda balances out the part about us not doing as much damage as blasters. I've got a 50 Emp/Dark and he's alot of fun to play. I run my leadership toggles, buff up the team with empathy powers, (fort, adren boost, RA, etc) and use grant invis as well for some further defense boosting. But when thats all done and the team is really steamrolling you can just have fun and blast. I've run some /emp controllers too though and you can do a great job healing with them as well. Healing isn't nearly as important as the buffs and other forms of damage mitigation in this game, a good controller can almost make healing unneccessary really. There's be several situations where I'm on my emp defender and someone will bring along a mind/FF controller and im just twiddling my thumbs hoping someone gets hurt. Its times like that you better busy yourself with blasting/buffing or up the difficulty. Anyway, you can have alot of fun with either, try both out and see what ya like more, dont stress the healing. If the team is working well together you wont really have to do it much.
