Playful? o.O In combat, maybe Gray...but not casually. Definitely not Jackalynn. Demon Trix maybe.

The Third Round of the D.R.A.T., the Double Random Art Tossup!!!

The winners of the last D.R.A.T. were VexXxa for the character and The Foo for the artist. If you want to see how the latest commission turned out, then just follow this link: …this link.

Since we’ve merged forums since the last D.R.A.T., I’ll go over the rules for everyone again.

It is your chance to have a custom-made commission featuring your character without lifting a finger or paying a dime.

    1) Basically, all you have to do is provide your name and references for the character you want to have rendered in a duo piece with Gray Huntress, Jackalynn, or Demon Trix (you decide who you would prefer in your post)! Easy as that.

    2) The next step would be to wait until 9-15-09, because that's the deadline.

    3) The Double Random comes from the mystery artist...I don't even know who it is because I'm leaving it to the great talented men and women in these forums to volunteer to do the commission. Don't worry; I'm paying you for the duo commission at your standard price. Near the end of the entry period, I may include artists from deviantArt to increase the chances…so don’t think it will be an easy win if entries are low!

    4) 9-15-09: I will randomly draw among the entries for both the character and the artist. I'll bring the news to the forums, then it is all business from there.

    5) If you entered a character during the last D.R.A.T. or volunteered to enter as an artist, be sure to repost in this thread if you want to join, or you could enter a new character altogether.

    6) Previous winners can enter again if they so choose, since it’s really a gamble for everyone.

    Hehe, the more the merrier!

Here’s the biography info for Gray Huntress, Jackalynn, and Demon Trix to help you decide who you would prefer posing with. If you wish to see what they look like, then feel free to take a tour of my gallery located in my siggy banner:

    Gray Huntress
    Age: 34
    Archetype: Archery/Devices/Force Mastery Blaster

Gray Huntress hates being called a hero; she openly admits she has very little in common with her more pacifistic peers. She doesn’t let the moral dilemma of right and wrong cloud her judgment, she doesn’t pull punches, and her arrows are not meant to trap, stun, or apprehend…they’re meant to kill. While this may suggest she is sociopathic and incapable of valuing life, this assumption couldn’t be further from the truth; her experiences have taught her to never arrest someone and give them a second chance to shoot her in the back at a later date. The world is never black and white, and there is no good and evil; just millions of reasons and excuses that may apply in one scenario but not in another. Gray jumps straight into this world and while her methods are controversial, no one can deny that she gets results and the world is a little safer due to her actions.

Additionally, Gray is a bit of an adrenaline junkie. She is completely human; she doesn’t have super dense skin that can stop bullets or reflexes faster than lightning yet she stands toe to toe with super-powered foes and wins. She enjoys putting herself in dangerous situations, pulling out by the skin of her teeth, and will leave her team behind if they can’t keep up. Cold and cocky, reserved and bold, unrestrained and calculating; Gray Huntress is a lone wolf guarding humanity when they can’t muster the strength to face the shades of gray.

As you can see Gray has two distinct faces. In times of peace, she is reclusive and cold…though she is concerned about everyone’s well-being. When in battle, she is fiery, passionate, and arrogant…she is almost playful with her peers and taunts them to keep up; after an exhilarating victory she is known to leave a trail of one-night stands if she becomes truly enraptured in the battle.

She is primarily a world-class archer, but isn’t a stranger to close combat and uses her bladed-bow to cut down any opposition that gets too close. She also owns a pair of rocket boots that grants her the ability to fly; when combined with her background with acrobatics, she can prove to be an incredibly elusive target.

    -----------------------------

    Jackalynn
    Age: 34
Archetype: Gravity Control/Energy Assault Dominator; that’s the closest archetype that could fit into Jackalynn’s concept as a telekinetic. All her abilities are through the use of invisible force; her will is exhibited through the reactions to her powers rather than the actions.

Codename – Jackalynn is everything Gray Huntress could have been if her ‘mother,’ Mist Arrow and Dr. Fanakov hadn’t kidnapped her from the Council test laboratories in Sicily in 1975. She is arrogant, manipulative, power-hungry, and super-powered. Though she shares Gray’s lethality, Jackalynn lacks her better sister’s control over who deserves to die and who just dies.

Jackalynn is the primary specimen and leader of the Council’s Project: Legion; a project that spawned literally hundreds of clones based off of Mist Arrow’s DNA. Gray Huntress is still labeled by the Council as the Perfect Specimen, because they altered her genetic code to be perfectly human in every way, shape, and form and thus the best platform for them to create a customized super-hero from scratch. The Huntress was abducted from the Project before any experiments could be performed, so Jackalynn was the next best subject.

While Gray theoretically could have held virtually unlimited power, the scientists had to choose carefully on what to do with Jackalynn; their final decision was to alter her psyche to allow her to perform advanced feats of telekinesis, because technically, with enough finesse, Jackalynn could do almost anything she could focus her mind on.

Project: Legion was officially activated two years ago when an insider tip from the Council led Gray Huntress to their base of operations. Overcome with the horror of realizing her own identity was a lie, Gray was nearly defeated by Jackalynn in combat; fortunately the rest of her team arrived to save her. Today, the Legion functions as an independent shadow organization within the Council known only to the Center and his inner circle. Jackalynn has the liberty to lead her team to whatever ends she deems necessary, or desirable; though she still performs delicate operations for her superiors when they require her services.

She loves power and exhibits her own as much for show as for purpose; she would be more likely to tear a ten-ton gargoyle off a building to use as a weapon, when telekinetically causing an aneurism would be just as effective. And Jackalynn seeks possible ways to magnify her abilities even more at whatever cost, as long as it’s not too personal.

    -----------------------------------

    Demon Trix
    Age: Apparently 25
Archetype: Mind Control/Energy Assault Dominator. Using imaginative liberty, Demon Trix’s energy blasts are not red; in fact they’re white light energy. In this instance, his powers show that light does not stereotypically mean the power of all that is good and holy.

Demon Trix views the mortals of the physical realm as pawns and treats them with a combination of arrogance and playfulness, supporting his views that they merely serve as his pawns. However, he can easily slip into sullen obedience when he remembers that he is merely a servant (cannon fodder even) to his superiors in the demonic hierarchy. He ambitiously aims to ascend that hierarchy to eventually become a demon prince in his own right…but that is a long battle ahead of him.

Demon Trix exists physically in the mortal realm and cannot be banished by traditional means; only commanding him with his true name can accomplish that. He recently ascended to the mantle of incubus; a demon who corrupts the souls of the living by manifesting as their deepest secret desires, using their lust and pride against them. His power is far from inferior as he is a true demon, not just some temporary manifestation and he plans to do whatever is necessary to ascend to the next level.

He was summoned by the Circle of Thorns in Paragon City and was going to be bound in their eternal service for pulling him fully through the Netherworld, but, as luck would have it, heroes arrived on the scene and defeated the Circle…and nullified his part of the contract. While he was taken captive by mystics and imprisoned in Zig (not after a good fight however), he patiently awaited the time of his release…he had all the time in the world after all.

Arachnos eventually set him free…not intentionally, and he has been slowly gaining power within the Rogue Isles. Demon Trix performs kidnappings, assassinations, manipulations, and other specialty jobs in exchange for souls…either paid by the contractor or the victims who get in his way. Trix uses the souls earned as down-payments for ascension, or to use as tools for his own ends.

This demon spends his past-time indulging in the corruption of the weak, taking pleasure in the flesh, and crushing the valiant defenders of truth, justice, blah blah, and all that other junk. He also enjoys candlelight dinners and midnight walks along the beaches of Talos.
  25. It was a pleasure sharing this commission with you Vex So far the artist's chosen by the D.R.A.T. have really stepped up to deliver art beyond their normal fare. I think it's about time I started up round 3. Considering the sudden boost in forum population, the chances are just going to get greater
