  1. I like the idea of a crazy violent character running around beating things up. not caring about their own survival, but just looking for a big ol' fight. Fits a lot of neat idea for characters.

my only a few problems with the set: the tier nine self kill with a fast recharge self rez? It makes sense for a player to have a way to get back up after they die when their set forces them to, but it takes away from the effect of dieing when you can just get back up. It kind of takes away from the death as a negative side effect of the tier nine.

also, adrenaline, a power that increases regen rate in a set that is more powerful when low on health? it would fit in my opinion if it were a max hp boost like dull pain's effect. (also adrenaline in real life dulls pain). With high max HP at 20% health with 90% resistance, the player would be able to live much longer at that edge, and it would maximize the effects of frenzy and perseverance.

what i do like is death wish's strong boost to everything. would at least let the player take burst damage for 3 minutes or so.

i do love the idea for this set. i can see so many characters i would make already if this were in the game. And i apologize if i repeated anything that other people have said already. I havent read any other people's comments lol.
  2. Saddly my gun is always out. No redraw happening.
  3. It can't be recharge lag because it is happening at the begining of fights. Before I use any power I get held and am rendered useless. I guess I will file another bug report and hope it gets checked
  4. I am playing an assalt rifle/devices blaster, and for a very long time, i have noticed that, in certain situations, i cant use my first 2 primary attacks when held, stunned, or slept. Whenever i get held by a level 50 boss, i am 100% to not able to attack. When i am in pvp, if get held by dominators i am not often able to attack. I have asked many blasters if they have the same problem and so far, the only other one to say they have experienced it was a fellow AR/Dev blaster.

I have sent bug reports a few times for over a year now. Can anyone tell me if this happens to all blasters randomly, am i just missing something about how defiance works, or am i bugged?
  5. Hello, I play an energy aura stalker in pvp and couldn't help but notice when I got teleported. I was terribly suprised, because I was under the impression that entropy shield protected from "enemy Teleportation for as long as you can keep this toggle power active." Well I looked at the combat atributes of the power and in pve it says I have teleport resistance, but not in pvp. My personal combat attributes confirm that I have no protection in pvp, the only place where teleport protection matters.

I came here to make this problem known, if it isn't. And if it is known, I wanted to be at least somewhat sure it may be addressed soon.

    Thanks for your time.

    OP? Really?

I have been pvping for a few years now on my Flying Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster. I recently transferred to Freedom Server because pvp zones on my home server were dieing out.

When I got to Freedom, I noticed many, MANY people hate me for being a flyer and for being a blaster in general. They were saying I am just a "flying sissy" trying to get an easy kill, and they called me over powered because "all blasters are OP."

If there is one thing I know about Flying in pvp is that there are many ways to ruin me. If I am right, 5 villain AT's have access to a form of web grenade (i have not checked this however). And Each AT has access to at least mag 1 -fly powers as well as web grenade temp powers from siren's call and jet packs from grandeville, all of which have been used to kill me many many times.

If there is one thing I know about AR/Dev blasting, it is that we are far from over powered in pvp, especially when compared to other blaster builds.

The questions I would like to ask here are

    1. Is fly blasting really the primary choice for people looking for an easy kill, and if so, why don't more people use it over SS/SJ?

And 2. Is Ar/Dev really considered over powered?

    Secret Agent Man

You wouldnt believe it but i was coming to the forums to pose the question of a ta/ar defender right when i saw your post about it. (great minds think alike).

Now i have VERY MUCH experience with both trick arrow and assalt rifle (level 50 ill/ta controller and a level 50 AR/Devices blaster)
and my wisdom here is that it will be INSANE! but horribly end draining. in i16 you will be able to set missions to 8man team size mobs and i think an ta/ar will be able to handle that (if you can stop them bosses).

poison gas, glue arrow, disruption arrow, acid arrow, oil slick, flame thrower, full auto, m30, buckshot, and slug and ice arrow for the remainder. however, you would probably need to use a blue in the middle of that chain because you will run out of end and fast (the TA set is a huge end drain).

and i strongly reccomend you dont go anywhere near a pvp zone with it. just saying. AoEs for Assalt rifle blasters are insanely weak. (i have had pleasure of popping 2 reds, LRM rocket, full auto, flamethrower, and m30 grenade on a MM. and not killing one pet), but who knows what they will be like for a defender.

but considering like 10% or less of people who play CoH PVP, i dont think you will have a problem.

Hope i helped give you info into the sets. and i like seeing other people are thinking the way i do lol.

    Good Luck!
  9. I have a level 50 AR/dev blaster who has gone through many MANY changes over the years. The defence slotting is a good choice, but I dont use it. I actually use my Ar/Dev for pvp, but I tried to work out a build that would also allow him to do great in pve (if you know anything about Ar/Devs in pvp, pve is the only place they do "great." And yet i cant stop playing mine in Recluses victory! But i digress).

I slotted him for rechardge. costed me about 200 or 300mil to do. I regretfully admit that i skipped trip mines, full auto, ignite, flamethrower, time bomb, buckshot, cloaking device, and taser.

I got everything else from the primary and secodnary that i did not just list. I got hasten, super speed (mainly for pvp), hover, fly, stealth, invisi, phase shift.

Finally i got surveillance, body armor, LRM Rocket (because it is SO AWESOME!!!), and Cryo Freeze Ray. This build only gives me like 2 AoEs but you do end up with a great dps with the recharge.

I do miss full auto, but i dont need it. for someone who has full auto, i reccomend leaving a slot free to put a Ragnarok Chance for knockdown in it! One reason is that it helps supress the retaliation damage a little bit, but mainly it is because it is sooooo cool to see the evildoers fall to the ground as you unload a few hundred bullets into them.
  10. If you have a problem with the knockback effects in m30 and buckshot, i reccomend hover! My Ar blaster has it and when you are hovering directly above the group of baddies, they will just fall down when you use m30 or buckshot. Knockback always throws the target away from the shooter. When above them, "away" is down and they can't go through the street.

You get to level 33 with hover, full auto, flamethrower, m30, buckshot will make you a deadly hail storm of fire and bullet. And you will be safely out of melee range of accidental aggro. The only down side is that teammates will probably get bored when they have nothing to do.
