Your Dev Director used Type R in an open meeting?
Guys, the Illuminati will have a new position opening soon.. Dev Director at a game studio. Yeah.. yeah the old one was moved to "special projects". -

What I honestly think NCSoft should do is allow others to buy time. If you want to buy an extra series of months, you should be able to. This would be good for NCSoft and good for the players as it would give them what they want if they're willing to pay for it. The only ones I can see having a problem with this would be those who want to see their vet rewards as a special status symbol.

What if you want to buy an extra series of months but you can't afford to?
Maybe a given person can afford to pay the monthly fee but nothing extra.
How is this "pay-extra-for" Awards system fair to that person?
Beyond that the -only- problem I have with this idea would be this would make these "pay-extra-for" Awards not Veteran Awards. There's nothing wrong with "pay-extra-for" Awards in theory but if the Devs had wanted to give us those that's what we would've gotten in the first place.

Agreed, it wouldn't be fair to the folks who are poor but honestly its not that hard to save $12-15 for most people. Maybe you're not buying everything at once but its much better for most than the "I can never get things at the same time" situation they're in now. -

The people who have been here for 48 months have paid MORE over that time than people who have been here for 1, 17, 24, etc. months. So WE'RE paying for the vet rewards. Lord, the feeling of entitlement among some on these boards is just frightening.

I agree completely.. folks who have been here longer are special due to the amount of money they've paid. Right? Ok that's just silly. But honestly they have paid more money than the average player... they've enjoyed the game longer so you can argue they've gotten more out of that too but whatever.

The only real issue i see is that many peple mya have a hard time making one of the pools fit with a current character concept. I mean we have almost nothing water related in game and then all of a sudden we are tossing sharks at people. Don't get me wrong, im all for a good shark tossing, it was just never in the cards before.
[/ QUOTE ]
Absolutely.. because most of the villains in the comics use the same basic themes. Shark tossing being the most important one..
Magneto, Venom, Bullseye,Doctor Doom.. all legendary shark tossers. And Galactus.. whew boy were those sharks BIG!
I'm not really surprised here.. I think that Cryptic missed the boat on the whole comic theme thing.. more like they're swimming
along side.
Not saying you can't have fun.. just saying I don't get why this game isn't a 9 or a 10 instead of a 6 or 7. -

I understand the sentiment, but I forsee a likely outcome I am strongly opposed to: that having a healer/buffer requires a counter aggro magnet for that character to survive.
I see nothing about current conditions that warrant even risking that outcome.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see why it'd be a problem, actually. I meanif tankers are going to need defenders to survive the aggro they draw, why shouldn't defenders need tankers to hold the aggro. If anything, it'll give tankers more reason to hold that aggro.

I'd rather not see another AT crippled just because we're suffering.
Tanks shouldn't need defenders, making defenders need tanks isn't
going to make anything right in the world, it'll just make another
set of players unhappy. Not what CoH needs atm. -
I too have dropped burn from my build. It's not worth taking with the fear affect, the damage enemies take is extremely minimal unless you have a controller.
My fire tank was my first toon and I'm extremely disappointed in the changes. I knew I was giving up defense in order to have more offensive power when I picked that set. Rise of the phoenix as the top power was irritating but burn was a nice draw. Now I'm left wishing I'd picked another primary. It seems really sad that my secondary set and power pools are my main power selections.
