As much as I wouldn't want to add more content that can't be soloed, I think if this was still fairly rare it would be okay.
Individual missions would be ok - I mean putting one in the middle of an arc.

He was level 5 when I found him, and he was running after me trying to catch up and talk to me in local chat, asking for help etc. So I did. I also showed him Atlas Park, and he was "OMG" over how many people were in atlas (I don't think he had seen any or many players in Galaxy when I found him). Someone put speed boost on him and he went nuts (in a good way).
That's why I think Atlas and Galaxy should be combined into one zone - there really isn't any need that I can see for new players to be given the option of going to a quiet zone as their first experience of the game.

Plus, the Atlas statue looks way more spectacular when you arrive

There shoudn't be a forced endgame - CoH is very good at keeping everything optional - so any new endgame stuff should really be made as something that you can decide to do or not.

Well, it's posisble - if 15 devs could put together something as big as Issue 10, then with the current size of the team, they could do something similar while still having most of the staff working on GR.

But I still think it'd be very unusal for them to do that - they'd have to go back to the dev-only testing to keep it a secret, and that could lead to more bugs if it's as much content as some people are suggesting.
Or if they were going to put it on Test, then I think they'd announce more about it further in advance.
  5. Maybe not a TF, but there is new Cimerora content being worked on - it ties in with the Coming Storm, apparently

... and now the mods are dropping big hints about an impending invasion and a "mothership"...

    Coincidence? Or not?
That's like a whole new system of endgame content - so it'd have to be Issue 17 then, as I really don't think there's any way they'd release something that big just as a non-Issue patch.

In fact, for the people who've been here form the start, what is the largest ever non-Issue patch they've released?
The only ones I can think of are the events and the booster packs.

  9. I'd rather see Atlas and Galaxy merged - put the HQ from Galaxy under City Hall, and the Galaxy Girl statue behind City Hall.
  10. Some of this is starting to get near to Issue-levels of content - I'm pretty sure it's just an event of some sort

ah right. imminent is equivilant to an "almost ready" less than soon.
Well, these things take time, don't they? Flying a mothership between dimensions ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations they could fly right through a star, or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end the trip real quick, wouldn't it?

Ok, kidding on that last one, but I can never pass up a Norm'ism. Life is pretty darn good!

    Edit:

You kidding? I've got it easy compared to BABs and Posi! Now THEY have rabid fans.
    The trap worked!

Quick, lock the door, and don't let him out untill he says how many new zones GR has!

Strangely enough, those were the two most recent ones to get a makeover

Plus, there's also the "semi-3rd faction" with the option to start any non-Epic AT in Paretoria,a dn then choose to be a Hero or Villain as you go through the moral choice missions there - so while the basic gameplay won't eb changing, the actual way people create and progress their avatars will become hugely more flexible post-GR - and there's also the rumored super enhancements for 50s - so the game after GR comes out will be quite different from what we're playing now, and they might prefer to have that version as the one they use to sell the game to potential new players.

    So post GR, we'll have:

    New graphics
Good, Evil and Neutral starting areas
    Moral choice missions
All normal ATs are open to any faction
    Invention system
    Player created content
    Ouroboros flashback system
    Power customization
    Costume creator
    Five years of content updates

I think a list like that on the box would interest quite a few potential new players for sure.

Sounds more like a much needed option for CO
  18. Maybe they're basing the marketing around GR?

They mentioned at Hero Con that one of the things they wanted to do with Praetoria and the new graphics and tutorial was to make something that you could show your friends and say "look at how cool this game is" - so it's possible that they would prefer to showcase the post-GR version of the game - so no advertizing until it launches.

    Hide player pet: buff effects

Maybe you could someday do this, then you could remove costume restrictions. So if someone wants a trenchcoat, cape and wings... (hmm that would look very silly.) They could do it.
I'm not so sure that'd be so good - the costume creator is a big feature of the game, and having options that mean your creations mightn't have all the parts shown to other players would take away from it a bit, I think.
  20. I'd love the zone events like the Steel Canyon fires and Skyway raves to be remade with event-style spawns, so they'd be a challenge for all levels - and use the recent new event tech for them too - like the Hellion arsonists would be setting fire to a building to summon a fire demon, so once you defeated a certain number of them, you'd be able to enter an instance of the buring building to fight the demon - like the way we got to enter Lord Winter's realm after defeating a Winter Lord - maybe even make the fire fighting part need team co-ordination, like the Halloween banners.
Something similar could be used for the Skyway raves.

Also, add random bank/store robberies in all the city zones, using the AVs we encounter on the Safeguard misisons - have them spawn, head to the bank/store, then the door becomes clickable, so we can enter it like the Winter Lord present portal.

And add more zone events too, like the Trolls and their bombs in Red River, the Head of the Hydra in Faultline, Lusca actually doing damage to the docks in IP, an Arachnos attack on the Zig to free more Villains and so on.

Plus, animated hair would be nice

I'm sure it woudn't enrage marketing - it's not any real info - it's like saying Praetoria has "several zones" - totally vague, but still interesting to know - so if you just said "yes, GR will have some new mission maps", we'd be very happy

I think any puzzles like that would have to be only on TFs - putting missions that require teams in the middle of arcs that people solo might not be such a good idea

"How do you like me now?" is a good, general thing to scream at people you're beating up.

Similarly the mutations exhibited by the Lost are deliberately induced using a mutagen rather than being part of their original genetic code.
    That's still massively mutation-based

It'd be like the Nemesis Staff - but with more diamonds - it'd be diamond tipped, with bands of diamonds around it, and the top would be a huge diamond-tipped diamond.
