The "EATs at 20" thing seems to be getting the most attention - but what about the other listed features?
Quote:Any ideas on what they might be, like what UI changes could they make that'd make it better?New badges, new missions and new player emotes
Improvements and additions to Mission Architect
Enhancements to UI and game systems
And what sort of additions to the MA might they be going to give us?
Also, beautiful new shiney badges

Quote:A follow up, from War Witch:I doubt we would ever get anything 100% identical to CO's Nemesis system.
But I could easily see a CoX "doppelganger" system become our equivalent to it.
While it might be fun to stand in a room and fight NPC clones of my characters that by itself would not be very fun for long. I would suspect that the "doppelganger" system would be introduced as a series of missions, a TF or some other kind of random encounters that would expand the concept out longer than just one massive fight scene.
"Just to clarify before speculation runs toooooo rampant, we're not doing a Nemesis-type system for Issue 17." -

Quote:Also, I don't think this is our nemesis system - it's just another faction.Lest people get too jazzed about a doppleganger nemesis system, remember that that was not part of the announcement. That was a guess by the author of the article.
Going by their design choices so far, there's no way they'd release a nemesis system unless it could be better than the CO one in some way

Quote:I think that's what's caused the delay to July - and also why he's decided to oversee it himself. As cool as it is that we're getting additional info, note that this announcement includes not a peep on the new end game system that Posi and his team of minions are working on. So there is more in the way of big reveals yet to come.
The endgame system is the thing we know the least about so far, so it's likely it's the reason for the slipped launch date. -

Quote:But it'd only be for the extras - the things they want most over there - zones/missions - would be free.I think if the word "pay" comes up at all, it will still sting their player-base.
Sure, there''d still be some rage, but it'd be less.
I'm not sure Atari would totally reverse the payment decision, as they must have already worked it into their business plans - so spinning off the extras as paid-for, and making the zone and misisons free would be a sort of compromise for both sides. -

Quote:They have another "state of the game address" coming up this week - if they're sensible, they'll say they've listened to the player feedback, and have decided that Vibora Bay will be a free update.I wonder if Cryptic is going to scramble and try to save some grace with CO, or if they've just given up on it now that their real cash cow is released...
Or they could possibly say that the zone and missions will be free, but any extras planned for it like costumes and powers would still be paid-for items. -
Quote:I was thinking February/March beta, with a May/June release - but maybe they need the extra month to make sure it's extra awesome?Yes, the July target date is "new." From the banter here, it seems many thought it would hit test in Jan/Feb and be out April or May-ish (just from the idea that Beta would be "soon"). While July doesn't surprise me as the target, it is later than I had expected.
But if enough of us complained about it, we could maybe get them to release it early so we could experience the excitement of bugged content
