Its possible. We'll know whenever QA gets done playing with I7. I think how Posi was saying it was that the Patron pools are tied to content thus not making it easy to just switch pools/content. But the content in these pools arent required but they are still tied to the pools in case you did (and I doubt people will just skip arc's because I know the 40-50 arcs will have some memorable things, just like CoH had)
-
Lady, I think you read Posi's comment a little off. From how I see it, what he says about the not forced to do Patron content, I think he means You dont have to do the missions associated with them but can still choose the powers.
I could be wrong but I dont think he was trying to say you dont get access to Patron powers at all if you dont do the missions. I dont see it removing an incentive to PL because people always find a way to PL off things.
Hell, back when it was all about Family or Wolves or Freakshow, we never thought we'd be farming off Ninja's, the ones we hate in that mission with Chimera but we found a way to until the devs caught on and fixed it. -
Assumptions are different. You can assume he meant perma one way but arguing that its nto right when you dont know how it it all is yet is another.
Call me a baord troll, I dont give a damn -
I wasnt trying to say dont discuss it at all, I'm saying at this point, its not gonna matter as much until it is on Test and we try it to form more valid opinions then jsut based off a few comments by a dev
-
Well, when its on Test and you see how bad it looks, you can post your opinion because you've seen it in "action"
-
You can debate over what you assume is valid but it wont help much until you see how it works.
-
We dont know what is contained in the Patron pools yet, how many powers exist, how similar they are to each Patron, etc...so its difficult to debate for now until we see it on Test to form our opinions on it.
-
Though the Test server major changes usually go Live, changes are made most of the time even if just minor.
If people disliked Patron Pool's altogether, the devs would have to scratch it, go back to the "drawing board", delay Issue 7 for an unknown amount of time, we wait impatiently, threads bloom complaining about no level 50 villains yet/no I7.
But with thought out posts about whatever you dislike abuot Patron Pools, the devs will (at least they say they do) look at them and decide what kind of tweak is needed.
Dont try and sound like what goes on Test fully goes live because tweaks are made.
(this wasnt completely in reply to Athyna, just a small part near the top I think) -

I challenge anyone that does CS to prove me wrong.

Having done phone CS related things for over a year, I know how it feels. Too many people feel like they are right and your terribly wrong. Especially qualifying for something broadband in their area and it wont pull up and they insist "I CAN GET IT" based off a flyer we sent to them. Then they demand a supervisor, sup says the same thing. They get pissy and hang up -
if I was Ghost Widow or someone else, I'd be pissed if someone said "Yeah...your not right for me, though Scirocco looks interesting! He has teh haxx"
-
and where is this proof saying they didnt think of that while desiging Patron Pools? We dont know what the devs do every day. Most companies, when an idea is presented, different ways are thought for and against it. I dont see the devs making a big decision like Posi said unless there was a overall decent majority agreeing to it.
The saying that content is tied to this makes it sound like there would be alot of backend tech to have you change Patrons because if your level 50, you cant just go back and do the 40-44/45 content from a Patron set if you respec into another one.
Though it may sound like dev "lazyness" it may just require a good amount of tech to remove souviners or other things you get from a patron pool because technically you never "did" them or whatever >.> -
Do you know how many powers are in a Patron pool? Please enlighten me as I dont recall any dev saying how many powers are in each one.
-
Then how about waiting until it hits Test and see how many powers or how much flexibility you have with doing a respec? Your answers will come when I7 hits Test and the devs clear things up better. Instead of jumping to conclusions, see what happens before claiming they completely screwed something up you dont have a clue what it is yet.
I reserve judgement on things like this until I actually see and try it. Then I make a clear post for or against it rather then just bluntly saying they dropped the ball. -
and they dropped the ball with Kheldians
and they dropped the ball with the Purple Patch
and they dropped the ball with Epic Pools
and they dropped the ball with ED
and they dropped the ball with Patron Pools
Kettle ; Meet Pot
As for my personal opinion, the TEST server exists to check things out. We can try out each power individually, wait for others on the baords to post how each power works in practice and I'll make my decision.
I wont come and complain on the boards for a mistake I made demanding free months or demanding the devs shower me with respecs. I accept mistakes I make. We all do it. The test server is there to do our best to ensure we dont make a mistake. -
It'd be awesome if like..you train to level 41 and some thing pops up saying "Urgent Letter from Arbiter suchandsuch" and then this letter pops up for you to read and begin your "journey"
-
Sorry to necro post but the PDF link doesnt work anymore
-
Their experience isn't based off the post count either. Some people have played since Day 1, have 6 50s and 2 Villain's at 40 and never reg'd on the boards, only read casually.
I was not trying to "ruin" your post. I was only stating that everyone makes mistakes. I didnt come here to say only that. Your being selective of my first post. I stated something else.
I dont need to threaten to quit because I havent found something to make me quit yet. If I want to leave due to either financial reasons or just because something irks me, I feel the desire to just do so without making a stink about it on the boards because I will get flamed for it. When your cancelling your account, there is an area to express your opinion(s) do the devs. If done so in a nice manner, they will think about it because if alot are leaving for the same reason, they may have to consider how to adjust something. -
A post count doesnt define a person's intelligence.
-
I have made posts of various things that I didnt like. But I dont make a habit of always saying the devs are stupid and wrong. But most changes, even if I disagree, I deal with because in the end, I'm just going to get used to it even if I disagree.
-
Not everyone is perfect in your world Cuddles. Everyone makes mistakes, your the one that points it out every time.
I thought you quit months ago? -

Nice to 'see' you on the boards again, Gilgamesh!

Yeah... he keeps sneaking in and surprising us... makes me wonder if he's lurking a lot more than we think...

You have no idea. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Well, how about some TR hints... or even beta invites?

*creams if I get a beta invite for TR*
